Chapter 448 Becoming Her Bodyguard, Taking Care of Her Meticulously

Grace originally planned to ignore Xavier, but no matter where she went, Xavier followed.

"You're not going back?" Grace asked.

Xavier chuckled, "Are you worried about me?"

"You're overthinking it. Even if it were a stray dog on the street, I'd ask if it had eaten."

Grace walked around to the car, ready to open the door.

Since she worked late, she told Scott not to pick her up and planned to drive herself home.

"Let me drive for you. You've worked all day, and driving while tired isn't safe," Xavier said, moving to the driver's seat.

"No need," Grace refused. Just as she reached for the car door, Xavier scooped her up.

"What are you doing!" Grace struggled in Xavier's arms.

Xavier opened the passenger door, put Grace inside, locked the door, and then got into the driver's seat.

Xavier was willing to be Grace's driver. He started the car and drove all the way to Grace's apartment.

Grace refused to communicate with Xavier and didn't say a word the entire way.

After parking, Xavier said, "We're here."

Grace didn't want to get out of the car and sat still.

Xavier got out first, walked around, and opened the door for Grace, and when she didn't move, he reached in and carried her out.

"You..."

"If you don't want to walk back yourself, I'll have to do it for you," Xavier said, clearly pleased.

Ignoring Grace's struggles, Xavier carried her upstairs. He effortlessly unlocked Grace's new password lock and placed her on the sofa inside.

Then he went to the door to get Grace's slippers, took off her shoes, and put them in the shoe cabinet.

If anyone who knew Xavier saw this, they would be shocked. Who would have thought that the CEO of the DG Group would take off a woman's shoes?

"Do you want to take a bath? I can run the water for you."

"I'm not bathing. Xavier, haven't I made myself clear? We're over. You don't need to do this. I won't be moved."

Seeing Grace angry, Xavier couldn't help but lean down and kiss her on the forehead.

"I know, but I have the right to pursue you again, don't I? I'm not doing this to move you. I want to be near you, to see you, to touch you. That's enough for me."

"You..."

"I know you don't want me around, don't want to see me, but I can't help it. If you don't let me appear in front of you, I'll have to watch you secretly. Doesn't that sound like a creep? So I have to show up, even if you hate me."

Grace was silent.

How could someone justify being a creep so confidently?

"Just treat me like a servant. I can do the work of many people. I can clean, cook, and be your driver. If you have any work-related questions, you can ask me, and you don't even have to pay me. Isn't that a great deal?"

"I don't need it."

"It doesn't matter if you don't need it. You can just think of me as an ordinary admirer. Doesn't Omari also like you? You still talk to him."

Xavier never expected Grace to forgive him easily. As long as he could see her, he felt at ease.

"Why are you comparing yourself to him?"

Xavier felt wronged, "Am I not even as good as him?"

Grace was silent.

"Are you hungry or want something to eat? I can cook for you or get someone to do it."

"No, you should go back."

"Then I'll come to pick you up tomorrow." Xavier didn't linger, fearing that staying too long would annoy Grace.

In the following days, Xavier showed up almost every day, and Grace couldn't get rid of him.

Even Victor was puzzled. He knew Xavier was in Skigeth but hadn't seen him.

When he finally reached Xavier, he wanted to invite him out for a drink, but Xavier refused.

"Why, Xavier? What are you so busy with that I never see you?"

"You wouldn't understand." He was busy pursuing Grace.

"What wouldn't I understand? If you don't come, I'll call Grace."

Xavier said, "If you can actually get her to come, then I'll be there."

Victor contacted Grace, but she said she was busy and politely declined.

Victor was disappointed and ended up drinking alone.

Grace had a business meeting with a client who came to Skigeth personally.

Grace booked a hotel, fearing a repeat of last time. Xavier insisted on accompanying her.

Xavier said, "Just think of me as your bodyguard. What if something like Daniel's incident happens again?"

Grace considered it and agreed. However, the incident with Daniel still scared her, so she temporarily let Xavier be her bodyguard.

The meeting was at a restaurant. Xavier, acting as both bodyguard and driver, took Grace to the destination and accompanied her into the private room.

"Ms. Lewis, hello. I'm Theo Saunders, CEO of the Blueprint Company. I..."

The CEO started to introduce himself but was shocked to see Xavier behind Grace.

The Blueprint Company was based in Oakworth and was a sizable enterprise.

He had seen Xavier before, but his company wasn't on the same level as the DG Group. He never expected to see Xavier here.

"Mr. Montgomery, you're here too?" He thought he might be mistaken, thinking it was someone who looked like Xavier.

"You've got the wrong person. I'm just Ms. Lewis's bodyguard," Xavier said calmly.

Theo wiped the sweat from his forehead. Could a bodyguard have such a presence?

"He really is just my bodyguard. Mr. Saunders, please."

Xavier pulled out a chair for Grace and then cleaned and sanitized her utensils, taking care of her meticulously.

While Grace discussed business, Xavier didn't interfere. He quietly helped Grace with her food, more like a personal assistant than a bodyguard.

Though Xavier said nothing, his presence alone drew everyone's attention.

Theo couldn't focus, constantly glancing at Xavier.

Isn't this Xavier? How could someone look so much like him?

After countless glances, Xavier finally got annoyed, "What are you looking at?"

Just one sentence dominated the room.

"Nothing, nothing," Theo quickly looked away, feeling immense pressure.

"Ms. Lewis, can we discuss the price again? Can it be a bit lower?" Theo focused on the business.

Grace had already offered the lowest price. She said, "I'm sorry, but the price can't be changed."

"Our company has had a tough couple of years. We're sincerely looking to collaborate with Iris. Ms. Lewis, what do you think?"

As Grace hesitated, Xavier spoke up, "If your company is struggling, why are you negotiating business? If sincerity alone could earn money without spending, then we're sincere, too. Can you give your company to me?"
