Chapter 650 Ms. Lewis's Skill in Seducing Men is Truly Impressive
In the private room, key officials from Aetheria were discussing a collaboration with Killer.
"Mr. K, we're all in with you. But you know Dorian, he's a hard-ass and won't budge. We're different; we follow orders."
One of them chimed in respectfully, "If something happens to Dorian and we get a shot at his spot, Aetheria would be under your and Mr. Ramirez's control."
Power and money were too tempting. Dorian had held his position for many years, and many were eyeing it.
However, under Dorian's leadership, Aetheria had thrived. Even if they wanted to find faults, they couldn't.
"Mr. K, if I manage to take that position, I can give you two percent of Aetheria's economy," the person tried to bribe Killer.
Killer remained serious and silent, seemingly lost in thought.
His mind wasn't on the topic at hand. Who was the man sitting with Grace outside? Her boyfriend?
Grace sought him out because he resembled her husband, treating him as a stand-in. If she found someone who looked more like him, she'd probably go to them instead.
Thinking this, Killer's eyes grew colder.
The person noticed Killer's expression and wondered if he thought two percent was too little.
"How about three percent, Mr. K?"
Killer didn't respond, so the person continued, "Five percent, that's the most I can offer."
Killer finally nodded, "Alright."
The person sighed in relief, imagining himself as the king of Aetheria.
He raised his glass, "To you, Mr. K."
Killer replied, "No need, I don't drink."
"Then let's eat. The food here is great."
"I have some matters to attend to, so I won't be joining you."
Killer stood up and walked out.
As he passed through the hall, he glanced at Grace and the man she was with. They were talking, and Grace seemed happy, smiling.
The man was very gentlemanly, taking care of Grace. For some reason, this scene was irritating.
Killer realized he was paying too much attention to Grace, but he couldn't help it. His heart was drawn to her, and he wanted to know everything about her.
Instead of leaving, Killer stood outside the restaurant, lighting a cigarette. Through the glass, he could see inside.
Grace and Sterling were almost done eating and were about to leave.
Grace asked Sterling, "Which hotel are you staying at?"
Sterling named a hotel, and Grace paused.
"What's wrong? Is there an issue with the hotel?" Sterling asked.
Grace shook her head, "No problem."
The hotel was the most luxurious in Aetheria's capital. The issue was that the man also stayed there.
"Should I take you back, or do you want to come to my place for a bit?"
Thinking of the man who looked like Xavier, Grace agreed, "Sure, let's go to your place."
Maybe she'd run into him.
They got into the car and, after arriving at the hotel, sat in the lobby for a while.
Unfortunately, she didn't see the man.
They chatted about work. "I heard someone from Aetheria wanted to collaborate with you, but you turned them down?"
Grace replied, "Yeah, their company is big but it's just a front. It's practically a shell, and they wanted us to invest. It was a bottomless pit, so I refused."
"Be careful. Desperate people can be very extreme."
"I know."
Grace said to Sterling, "It's late, I should go."
"I'll take you," Sterling offered.
"No need, it's more trouble. My driver is on the way."
"Alright, I'll wait with you."
Soon, Grace's driver arrived. Sterling watched her get into the car before returning to the hotel.
As Grace closed the car door, she noticed a figure in the distance, partially hidden in the darkness, with a faintly glowing cigarette.
That silhouette...
Grace's heart tightened. "Stop the car!"
The driver stopped, and Grace quickly got out, running towards the figure.
"How long have you been standing here?" Grace asked, joining him in the shadows.
Her eyes were so bright, like the brightest star in the sky, piercing into one's heart.
Killer's throat tightened. He hadn't expected Grace to notice him.
Without a word, Killer turned to head back to the hotel, with Grace following.
"Were you avoiding me?" she asked.
"You're overthinking," Killer's voice was hoarse.
Grace glanced at the ground, seeing several cigarette butts. He must have been standing there for a while.
So, it was because she was with Sterling that he didn't come over.
As the man walked towards the hotel, Grace suddenly grabbed his wrist, stopping him.
"Since we ran into each other, how about a drink?"
Her eyes were so captivating that Killer's heart trembled.
"No," he refused.
"Why not?" Grace insisted, not letting him go. "Don't tell me you don't go to bars. We met at one last time."
Despite saying she wouldn't bother with him, seeing him made her want to get closer.
"Ms. Lewis, if you want a drink, why not ask the man you were with? He'd be happy to. You sent him back to the hotel and now you're inviting another man for a drink. Ms. Lewis, you sure know how to seduce men."
