Chapter 571 Absolutely No Such Possibility

"I'm not even part of DG Group, and I'm not gonna be running the company or making any decisions."

Grace tugged on Xavier's sleeve, signaling that his words were out of line. She was an outsider, a stranger showing up for the first time, and Xavier expected a bunch of executives to listen to her? No way.

Grace genuinely had no intention of getting involved in Xavier's company. She just saw how hard Xavier was working, juggling so much, and when he asked her to look over some documents, she did it to help out.

Grace wanted to reassure everyone that they didn't need to take Xavier's words seriously. But Xavier was firm. "From now on, whatever Grace says is as good as my word. Got it?"

"Got it," the executives replied, though they silently harbored their discontent. They were convinced Grace had seduced Xavier with her looks. Beauty was indeed a dangerous thing, turning even the usually rational Xavier into this.

Wasn't this basically handing the company over to Grace? What if she ran the company into the ground? Xavier would regret it then!

But even if Grace gave orders, they wouldn't necessarily follow them. They usually listened to Xavier, but that didn't mean they'd follow just anyone.

"Meeting adjourned." Xavier had called all the executives and shareholders together just for this one announcement. Soon, everyone left the conference room, but not without giving Grace a few more curious glances, wondering what kind of charm she possessed.

Once everyone was gone, leaving only Xavier and Grace in the room, Grace asked, "What are you doing?"

She thought Xavier had called a meeting, but it turned out he just wanted everyone to listen to her. Grace had no idea about this beforehand; if she had, she wouldn't have come with Xavier.

Xavier said, "I just wanted everyone to know that your decisions are my thoughts. From now on, your words carry weight."

"But I don't need any of this. DG Group is your company, and I'm not an employee here. They respect you because you're capable and deserving. Suddenly bringing me into this will definitely cause discontent. People might think I seduced you to hand over the company."

Xavier found Grace's anger amusing. "What if, in the future, my company becomes yours? If I get old and can't manage it, you'll take over for me."

"I don't want that. If you get old, I'll be ready to retire too. I don't want to manage your company."

Grace continued, "You know I never wanted your company. DG Group is huge, but I don't want it at all."

Xavier knew Grace never coveted anything from him. In her career, she never asked for his help. She was always independent, achieving everything through her own efforts.

Xavier gently stroked her hair. "I know, but whether you want it or not is up to you. I want to give it to you."

Even if it meant giving everything to Grace, he was willing.

Grace knew she couldn't argue with Xavier. "Then I won't come to the office with you tomorrow. Who knows what they'll say about me."

"Then I'll make a new company rule forbidding them from discussing you."

"Don't joke around. If that were possible, I'd want to slap myself if I were your employee. Anyway, I'm not coming to the office tomorrow."

"You're not gonna keep me company tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow, I gotta go to the airport with Lily. We have some really important clients from abroad coming to visit the company. Lily and I are going to greet them to show our sincerity."

"Then I'll go with you."

"Why would you go?" Xavier had plenty of his own work to do.

"I don't feel comfortable."

Grace laughed. "So, according to you, I can't go anywhere alone anymore? I feel like a baby who can't survive without you."

"It's me who can't live without you."

It had always been that way. Xavier felt he couldn't live without Grace, not the other way around. After everything they'd been through, whenever he didn't see Grace or she went out alone, he felt anxious and worried.

"I'll be fine. Don't be paranoid. This is Oakworth, just a trip to the airport. There's no danger. You have important work tomorrow, right?"

Xavier did have important work, but he said, "You're more important than work."

Such straightforward words made Grace's heart warm. So, in Xavier's heart, she was always the most important!

Xavier's sentiment was enough for Grace. She reached out and hugged Xavier suddenly, feeling the need to hold him.

Xavier was pleasantly surprised by the sudden embrace. "What's wrong?" he asked.

Grace held him tightly and shook her head. Nothing was wrong; she just felt emotional. Xavier hugged her back, and though they didn't speak, they understood each other perfectly, their hearts closely connected.

The next day, Grace didn't let Xavier come with her. She went to the airport with Lily. Oakworth's airport was huge, bustling with people. The international terminal was filled with travelers from abroad.

Grace and Lily waited for a while, but the flight carrying their foreign clients hadn't arrived yet. It seemed it would be a while longer, so Grace decided to use the restroom. When she came out, she saw a familiar face.

Meanwhile, in Skigeth, Jane had Robert contact Grace again after a couple of days. Elizabeth hadn't been able to deal with her before, so what harm could Grace do? Besides, Grace didn't know her, making it the perfect time to strike.

Jane couldn't let Grace live. Elizabeth's child, possibly Dorian's child, meant Grace had to go. When Jane had Robert contact her, he said, "Grace went to Oakworth a couple of days ago."

"She went to Oakworth?" Jane hadn't known this.

Robert nodded. "Yeah, I told you. Jane, your memory is getting worse."

Remembering something, Robert added, "And Dorian is coming to Vesperia after finishing his work. He didn't take a private jet, so he might be transferring through Oakworth."

"When will he arrive?"

Robert said, "If we calculate the time, it should be around now."

Jane's pupils contracted. This meant Grace and Dorian were both in Oakworth! What if they ran into each other?

No, it couldn't be. Oakworth was so big; the chances were slim. Jane reassured herself that the probability was very low. There was no way it could happen!
