Chapter 492 Poor Boyfriend
"Grandpa, it's so late, you should go to bed, right?"
Chase said, "This TV show is really good, I need to watch a bit more."
Grace took out a tablet, "Actually, lying in bed and watching on the tablet would be more comfortable. It's not too hot now, and sitting on the couch at night is a bit cold."
"Or we could watch it on the projector in the room?"
Chase smiled, "No need to go through all that trouble, it's almost over."
Grace continued watching TV with Chase, then messaged Xavier, "Grandpa might go to bed soon, but I can't guarantee it!"
After finishing the episode, Chase finally moved, and Grace stood up as well.
Seeing Chase go into his room, Grace also prepared to leave, but just as she reached the door, Chase came out again.
"Grace, where are you going?"
"What? Grandpa, weren't you going to bed?"
"Who said that? I just went to put something away. Are you going out?"
"I do have a friend looking for me."
"A friend? A boy or a girl? I'm looking forward to seeing you this late. Why not invite them up?"
"No, no, it's so late, Grandpa. You should go to bed, and I'll go to bed, too."
Saying that Grace went into her room.
Grace had tested Chase's attitude; he didn't like Xavier.
Every time she mentioned Xavier, Chase would get angry and say not to bring him up.
"Okay, get some rest."
"Good night, Grandpa." With that, Grace slipped back into her room.
Even though they didn't meet, they could still talk on the phone for a while.
She had never realized before how sweet she and Xavier were.
It was already this late, and Xavier didn't talk to Grace for long, urging her to sleep and then listening to her steady breathing.
Xavier looked up at the darkened room, then lit a cigarette.
The next day, Chase urged Grace to invite Angela over.
Angela naturally refused, "Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
Grace hadn't said anything yet when Chase said, "What's inappropriate? There are no outsiders here."
"Nothing inappropriate, I'll have Scott pick you up."
Chase had Scott pick up Angela in the evening and bring her over for dinner.
Scott really wanted to explain that Angela wasn't his girlfriend, but Chase wouldn't listen. He even said, "If you don't bring Angela, don't come back!"
Chase didn't worry so much about Steven and Thomas, but Scott was different. Chase knew Scott didn't like women and instinctively kept his distance from them, like a form of self-protection, which worried Chase the most.
So Chase kept urging Scott to find a girlfriend. Scott had never been close to any woman since he was a child, and now that there was finally an Angela, Chase naturally wanted to match them up.
Scott arrived at Angela's studio and saw another luxury car there.
Zander was also there. Angela originally thought it was Scott when an employee said someone was looking for her, and her heart skipped a beat, but it turned out to be Zander.
Zander was holding a bouquet of roses, a very large one, and the other people in the studio looked envious.
He handed the flowers to Angela, but she didn't take them.
"Mr. Ross, why are you here?" Angela actually didn't like uninvited guests. She and Zander weren't familiar, yet he came to her company.
Zander said, "Ms. Turner, how about dinner together?"
"Sorry, I have plans tonight." Angela refused.
Although she didn't plan to have dinner at the Coleman Mansion, she also didn't plan to eat with Zander.
"Mr. Ross, I think I made myself clear last time."
Zander said, "But your family doesn't think so. Your mom has even picked out our wedding date, it seems like there's a good one next month."
"My mom picked it, so let her marry you." Angela always said what she thought.
Zander's face turned ugly but quickly recovered, "I actually like your personality. It's not that you don't like me, it's just because of your mom that you're resisting. Why not give me a chance? I'm actually a humorous and interesting person."
Angela said, "Sorry, I don't like people who think they're humorous and interesting."
"Are you concerned that I have a child? No problem, after we get married, we can have our child, and you'll definitely love your child."
"Stop, I've never thought about having a child for a man. I don't like you, don't come looking for me again. Whoever contacted you, go find them!"
Angela wanted to leave, but Zander blocked her. He hadn't given the roses yet, and his pride couldn't take it.
"Angela."
"What do you want?" Angela looked at him warily.
"You should feel honored that I came to see you and took a liking to you. Honestly, your family wants to marry you to me because of my status, to help your brother. You're lucky to have me. What can your poor boyfriend give you?"
"Poor boyfriend?"
A voice suddenly came from behind. Angela looked over and saw Scott walking in.
Scott was tall, and his aura was completely different from Zander's.
He looked down at Zander with disdain in his eyes.
"Why are you here too?"
Angela was troubled.
"Grandpa asked me to pick you up for dinner." Scott's tone was cold, sounding displeased.
Angela hadn't said anything when Zander sneered, "Dinner at home? You can't even afford a meal outside? You'd be better off eating with me. I can get you anything you want."
Angela was silent.
Zander was so confident, she was afraid Scott might get angry and crush Zander with money.
Zander's family might have some money, but compared to the Coleman family, it was nothing.
"Is having some money that impressive?" Scott asked coldly.
His family never lacked money, but he never felt superior because of it.
Angela said directly, "Why do you care where I eat? I just like eating with him, even if it's scavenged food. No matter how much money you have, I won't eat with you. Let's go!"
Angela naturally took Scott's arm.
When Angela leaned in, Scott didn't pull away.
Even though he disliked being touched by women, he still held Angela's hand.
"You..." Zander's face turned even uglier, wanting to follow, but Scott's glare stopped him.
Zander wondered why Angela's poor boyfriend had such a strong presence.
Zander could only watch them leave, but the more they acted like this, the more uncomfortable he felt. He had to marry Angela, he couldn't stand seeing them so smug.
Zander picked up his phone and called Ainsley, "Mrs. Turner, everything on my end is fine. You can set the engagement date."
"As for the project Omari is handling, I'll have someone take care of it. You don't need to worry. I'll prepare the gifts in the next few days, and let's finalize our matter as soon as possible."
