Chapter 139 She Is Not My Nephew's Wife
Xavier's face darkened. Without paying any attention to Stephanie, he strode away, saying, "I need to make a call."
Stephanie did not stop him but instead looked in the direction where Grace and Angela had left. After a moment's thought, she walked towards them.
Walking alongside Grace, Angela chatted curiously, "That woman just now was quite pretty. It's the first time I've seen Xavier so intimate with someone."
"Yes," Grace responded indifferently, acknowledging her.
"Is she Xavier's girlfriend?" Angela murmured to herself.
"Did you notice her dressing? They were all custom-made from very famous international brands. Each outfit must cost millions of dollars." Angela, being in the fashion industry, was particularly sensitive to such details.
"Yes."Grace remained indifferent.
Angela wanted to continue speaking, but she noticed that Grace appeared somewhat distant. Despite Grace's poker face, her silence was more pronounced than earlier.
"Grace, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, why?" Grace forced a smile.
"Did you hear what I just said?"Angela asked.
"Yes, you said she might be Xavier's girlfriend and she's very wealthy," Grace repeated.
Even if she were Xavier's girlfriend, it had nothing to do with her. She and Xavier had no real connection.
At that moment, a voice suddenly called from behind, "Wait a moment. Hey, you two."
Angela turned around curiously and saw that it was Stephanie speaking to them, who was alone, not accompanied by Xavier.
"Are you calling us?" Angela asked uncertainly.
"Yes." Stephanie walked towards Grace.
"You must be Grace. I've heard a lot about you. I'm Stephanie Park, Xavier's girlfriend." Stephanie also scrutinized Grace, not sensing any threat from her. She only dared to claim she was Xavier's girlfriend now that he wasn't around; she wouldn't dare say it in his presence.
Grace merely nodded. "Good to see you, but I remember him saying he doesn't have a girlfriend."
Stephanie's smile didn't falter as she said, "He's not ready to go public with our relationship. I'm only sharing this with you two, so please keep it between us."
"I'm from Oakworth and have known Xavier for many years. Everyone in Oakworth sees us as a perfect match, a couple blessed by all. You're Xavier's nephew's fiancée, right? You do look quite different today,"Stephanie remarked, her tone slightly probing.
Angela sensed Stephanie's aggressive tone, constantly emphasizing her unique relationship with Xavier.
Grace responded with a smile, "Really? I didn't expect Miss. Park to have heard of me."
"Of course. I'm sure we'll have more opportunities to meet in the future. I quite like you."
Grace replied,"I didn't expect to be so likable. I remember Jessica also said she liked me. She says she will be Xavier's wife in the future, and then she'll be family with me."
She hadn't forgotten Jessica's tricks in the car. She wasn't keen on getting involved in this game of competing for a man, but she didn't mind watching these two women battle it out.
Since Jessica had started it, Grace merely set her an enemy, hoping that with Stephanie around, Jessica would focus less on her.
"Jessica Cole?" Stephanie's tone was disdainful. "I know her. She's delusional and should take a good look in the mirror. But I've already dealt with her. I have her photos in my hand, so she doesn't dare to do anything. Why don't we exchange contact information? If anyone else has designs on Xavier, you can let me know."
Grace instantly understood that why Jessica had come to trouble her and said a bunch of inexplicable things. Now it seemed that Stephanie had done something excessive to Jessica. The photos in Stephanie's hand were undoubtedly compromising.
Stephanie appeared unafraid of making enemies, even with someone like Jessica, shortly after arriving in Skigeth. She did come across as rather arrogant.
Seeing Grace's reaction, Stephanie said, "What's wrong? Did I scare you?"
Grace shook her head, and Stephanie continued, "Don't be afraid. As long as you're not my rival in love, I won't harm you. If you listen to me and cooperate, even if Xavier goes against the Montgomery family in the future, I can ensure your safety."
Grace was speechless. If Stephanie knew that not only was she her rival, but she had also slept with Xavier countless times, she would probably strangle her on the spot. It seemed Stephanie wanted someone to keep an eye on Xavier for her.
Grace's expression remained indifferent. "It doesn't feel appropriate for you to say these things to me."
"What's inappropriate about it? I've told you, I quite like you. This is my first time in Skigeth. Xavier is busy, so he doesn't have much time to accompany me. I wonder if you could show me around?"Stephanie asked directly.
Grace replied, "That might not be convenient. I've been really busy lately."
"That's fine. We have plenty of time ahead of us. I also want to treat you to a meal to express my gratitude for looking after Xavier recently." Stephanie's smile was bright, confident, and determined. She said Xavier's name with ease.
"Stephanie!" A voice filled with anger suddenly called out from the other side.
The three of them looked up to see Xavier not far away.
Stephanie was very obedient in Xavier's presence. She ran over and intimately hooked her arm around Xavier's. "Did you miss me after just a short while?"she inquired.
Xavier's gaze did not fall on Stephanie but on Grace. She was still wearing her red and white racing suit, which suited her well, giving her a unique, cool demeanor, just like in the photos Victor had sent him.
Xavier pulled his arm away as he said, "I've already called your grandfather. He wants you to go back. I've arranged for someone to take you to the airport."
"No, I just got here. I haven't even had a good look around the place where you grew up. Moreover, I was just chatting with our niece-in-law. I want to hang out with her." Stephanie tried to pull Xavier over.
"She is not my niece-in-law," Xavier's voice was cold.
Grace and Ryan hadn't even started anything, so she couldn't be considered his niece-in-law.
However, Stephanie retorted, "How can you say that? Even if you don't like Grace, you can't prevent her from marrying into the Montgomery family. As I mentioned, don't sabotage a good marriage."
Stephanie clung to Xavier's side, deliberately showing Grace that her relationship with Xavier was special. She was the only woman who could stand beside Xavier!
"I'll have someone take you back to Oakworth," Xavier uttered in a voice devoid of any warmth.
"Why are you always so domineering with me? Do you just want to control me?" Stephanie was pleased. Although she didn't want to go back to Oakworth, she liked being controlled by Xavier.
Xavier's decisive manner exuded endless charm.
