Chapter 264 Xavier Also Goes to the Hospital

"But before you leave, Grace instructed me to make sure you eat all of this," Kieran said.

Xavier finally sat down. The hangover soup had been kept warm and was now just the right temperature.

However, the oatmeal had been cooked for too long and had become somewhat thick.

"Mr. Montgomery, how about we make you a fresh batch?" Kieran suggested, thinking the porridge looked too thick to drink.

"No need," Xavier said.

Xavier picked up the spoon and started eating the oatmeal.

Despite lacking much appetite, Xavier compelled himself to eat, slowly consuming his meal.

Initially, Xavier's stomach felt quite uncomfortable, like it was burning. But now, with the warm porridge, his stomach felt much better.

While Xavier's stomach might have felt better, his heart remained unsettled.

The more he thought about it, the more upset he became, and his stomach started to feel worse again.

Grace must have come because Victor called her. She brought him back and left immediately; she probably didn't want to take care of him at all.

Dizzy and disoriented, Xavier caught a whiff of his own scent and found it repulsive.

So, he went into the bathroom, took a shower, and then spent some time on the treadmill.

Hearing his phone ring, Xavier picked it up immediately.

He didn't even realize how nervous he was. Could it be Grace?

Did she care about him a bit, calling early in the morning to check on him?

However, when he saw it was Victor, the little bit of hope in his heart was vanished.

Still, Xavier answered the call, "Hello?"

"What's going on? Why are you in such a bad mood so early?" Victor asked leisurely, sipping his coffee and eating breakfast.

"Get to the point," Xavier said.

"I'm just calling to check on you. How did it go last night?" Victor asked.

"How did what go?" Xavier asked.

"Seriously?" Victor had gone to great lengths to create an opportunity for Xavier.

"Did you let this great opportunity slip away?" Victor asked.

"What do you mean?" Xavier said coldly.

Hearing Xavier's cold tone, Victor chuckled. "I worked hard to convince Grace to pick you up last night. Didn't she take you home?"

"She did," Xavier replied.

"And then?" Victor asked.

"Then she left," Xavier responded flatly.

Victor found it hard to believe. He had specifically asked Grace to take care of Xavier.

"Did you say something to offend Grace again, or did you force her and she wasn't willing?" Victor asked with concern.

Xavier thought about it, but he had drunk too much last night and couldn't remember much.

He was sure he hadn't said anything to offend Grace. As for forcing her...

A scene flashed in his mind. He had pinned Grace on the sofa, and she struggled. Then he seemed to have regained his senses and didn't go through with it.

Could that be why Grace was angry?

Seeing Xavier silent, Victor said, "You remember now, right? Just apologize. I think Grace has feelings for you."

"She has feelings for me?" Xavier found it hard to believe. If Grace really had feelings for him, why did she leave without any hesitation?

"Yes, it's obvious. If you can't see it, you deserve to be single."Victor said.

"Shut up!" Xavier shouted.

"Alright, I'll shut up. But Grace is definitely easy to appease. Give it a try. I'll find out if she's home and see if she's mad." Victor said.

"Don't call her Grace. Doesn't she have a full name? Can't you use it?" Xavier said.

Victor said, "Seriously? You're even bothered by that? What are you thinking?"

"I'm not jealous." Xavier was just unhappy and took it out on Victor.

Particularly with regards to Omari, Xavier didn't want Grace to be so close to him!

After giving Xavier a meaningful laugh, Victor hung up and immediately called Grace.

When Grace and Xavier eventually get married, they must thank him properly. He even planned to officiate their wedding.

Not long after, Grace answered, "Hello, Mr. Hastings."

"Grace, are you still at Xavier's place? How is he?" Victor pretended to know nothing.

Grace said, "Sorry, I had to leave last night because of something."

"What? Was it something urgent?" Victor seized the opportunity to ask.

Grace bit her lip. "No, my friend's brother had a car accident last night and was hospitalized. I'm with her at the hospital now."

Even though Grace only hinted at her friend's brother without explicitly mentioning his name, Victor immediately recognized that she was referring to Omari. His intuition allowed him to make the connection without further clarification.

After all, Grace only had one good friend, Angela, who happened to have a brother.

Omari was hospitalized. Victor didn't know whether to be happy or happier.

But Omari couldn't have done it on purpose, right? Trying to get Grace to take care of him?

No way. He had to tell Xavier about this immediately. Soon, Xavier received a call from Victor.

Victor exaggerated the situation. "You're in trouble. Do you know who Grace was taking care of last night?"

"Who?" Xavier asked.

"Your rival!" Victor said.

Victor said, "Apparently, Omari had a car accident, and Grace spent the whole night taking care of him. She hasn't even rested yet. Look at Omari's tactics. If you don't step up, Omari will really steal Grace away."

Upon hearing this, Xavier frowned deeply. Grace had spent the whole night taking care of Omari after leaving him?

"Are you serious?" Xavier asked.

He remembered Grace saying she had nothing to do with Omari, but then she went to take care of him?

"Of course, why would I lie to you? I think you should..." Victor was interrupted by Xavier, who hung up the phone.

"How ungrateful. I'm giving you intel, and you hang up on me before I finish," Victor muttered, shaking his head.

Xavier hung up on Victor and immediately called Mason.

"Mr. Montgomery." Mason wasn't surprised to receive a call from Xavier at this hour.

After all, his job was to be on call 24/7. Working for Xavier came with great benefits, and Xavier never mistreated anyone. Plus, he learned a lot from the job.

Although it was busy, Mason never thought of leaving.

"Find out which hospital Omari is in and how serious his injuries are,"X avier commanded.

"Understood," Mason replied, never questioning the reasons behind Xavier's instructions. He simply complied with whatever Xavier asked of him.

Soon, Mason informed Xavier of Omari's hospital and even got the police report. It seemed Omari had been distracted while driving and crashed into a truck. Omari's injuries weren't serious, just some superficial wounds, with no damage to bones or internal organs.

"Mr. Montgomery, should we prepare some gifts to visit him?" Mason thought Xavier wanted to visit Omari out of humanitarian concern.

"Why visit if he didn't die? Come over and take me to the hospital." Xavier said.

"Mr. Montgomery, you're going to the hospital to..." Mason was confused. If Xavier wasn't visiting Omari, why was he going to the hospital?

Xavier coldly replied, "I'm getting admitted!"
