Chapter 647 My Daddy Might Already Be Dead

"Hey, what's your name?" Killer asked, his smile never wavering.

He felt an odd connection to this kid.

"Well, I can't tell you unless you tell me yours first."

Killer didn't give his name. Instead, he said, "Your mom's name is Grace Lewis, right? Think it'd be hard for me to find out your name if I looked it up?"

Marcus went quiet.

Had his mom given away their identity?

She must've spilled everything about their family without knowing anything about this guy.

Marcus said, "I can look you up too!"

"Really? Go ahead, give it a shot."

He always worked in the shadows, never revealing his true identity.

"Just tell me, where do you live? Got a wife?"

The last question was crucial.

"No."

"That's awesome! You and my mom would be perfect together."

"You're in such a rush to find a guy for your mom. What about your dad?"

Marcus shook his head. "I don't know. Never met my dad. He might..."

Marcus paused before continuing, "He might already be dead."

His tone dropped, and Killer felt a pang in his heart.

His dad must be the Xavier Grace mentioned, right?

Just hearing the name, he sounded like a heartless person.

Marcus looked at Killer. "Sir, I don't think you're a bad person."

Killer smirked. This kid's intuition wasn't great because he never considered himself a good person.

"My name is Marcus Coleman," Marcus finally revealed.

"Your mom gave you that name?"

"Of course. My mom's a great person. She rarely likes someone. Why don't you go along with it?"

"Do you know who I am? What if I'm a killer who only wants your mom dead?" Killer joked, revealing his true identity.

"I don't think you would. My mom's so amazing that even if you were a killer, you'd be charmed by her!"

Killer's smile deepened. This kid sure had confidence in his mom.

"It's late. Shouldn't you be heading home? I'll call your mom to come get you."

Marcus said, "Do you want my mom to come get me, or do you want to see her?"

Killer fell silent.

Just then, Marcus's phone rang. It was Grace calling.

"Mom!" Marcus answered.

Grace had received a call saying Marcus had gone to confront a man, only to be overpowered. She was frantic when she heard the man might harm Marcus.

Who had Marcus gone to find this time?

"Marcus, where are you?"

"Mom, come quick! I've caught someone for you!" Marcus suddenly grabbed Killer's wrist and started giving her the address of the hotel entrance from last time.

"Marcus, come back right now!" Grace knew exactly what he was up to.

"I'm not coming back. Mom, hurry up!" Marcus hung up and tried to drag Killer along.

Even though he was no match for Killer.

He was still too young; Killer could easily overpower him with one hand.

But Killer had no intention of harming Marcus. Instead, when the kid grabbed him, he surprisingly squatted down and held Marcus's hand in his palm.

Killer's hand was large and rough with calluses, while Marcus's hand was tiny, his fingers small. The big hand enveloped the little one, and both of them felt a jolt.

"Sir, you..."

Before Marcus could say more, the people he brought surrounded Killer. "Let go of Mr. Coleman!"

"If you dare harm Mr. Coleman, the Coleman family won't let you off!"

They thought the man was about to hurt Marcus and surrounded him, not letting him leave.

They had already called Grace, who was on her way.

If this man dared to harm Marcus, the Coleman family wouldn't let him off.

Killer didn't pay them any mind, looking down at the kid in front of him.

Earlier, Marcus had been in the shadow of a tree. Last time, Marcus had worn a hat, so Killer hadn't seen his face. But now, his rosy face was exposed to Killer, who was shocked.

How could this kid look so much like him?

Their features were strikingly similar. If he walked out with Marcus using his real face, people would definitely say Marcus was his son.

"You..." Killer stared at Marcus's face.

"What about me?"

"Nothing." Killer hid his shock. "Wait here for your mom. I'm leaving."

There were still a bunch of bodyguards around, so there shouldn't be any danger.

Killer didn't want to interact with Grace more. If she wasn't deliberately approaching him, she was using him as a stand-in.

And he never wasted time on women.

"No! You can't leave!" Marcus held onto him.

Killer could easily break free, but he hesitated and didn't.

Soon, Grace arrived in her car.

"Marcus!" Grace got out, and the people surrounding them made way.

"Mom, come here!" Marcus waved at Grace.

"Marcus, why did you come here?" Grace was out of breath from rushing.

"I wanted to help you bring him back, but he's too strong. I couldn't do it."

Grace fell silent.

She looked at the man, and Killer made his expression cold and intimidating.

His words were equally cold and heartless. "Miss, if you need a man, there are plenty in this world. No need to use such tactics."
