Chapter 028 In the Restroom

Feeling Ryan's breath become rapid, Kelly wrapped an arm around his waist, caressing him.
"Ryan, I want to go to the bathroom. Will you come with me?" she asked.

Ryan, fixated on the that woman’s beauty, fantasized scenes of them together, filled with lust.
"Sure," he replied.

They reached the restroom, and without bothering to lock the door, they began to kiss passionately, with Kelly deliberately making loud noises to satisfy Ryan.

Soon, Ryan took Kelly into one of the stalls. In the meantime, someone else entered the restroom, and upon hearing the commotion, they blushed and quickly left.

Grace felt the sudden need to use the restroom. As she opened the door, the sounds from inside were unmistakable.

Kelly's voice was sultry, and Ryan was unmistakably out of breath. Grace halted in her tracks, realizing what Kelly and Ryan were doing in there. ‘How could they not hold themselves back during the party?’ she thought.

Any photo of this incident would boost them to the top of the newsfeeds. But Grace was not one to engage in such devious tactics.

She closed the door and turned away, only to see Xavier approaching, presumably with the same intention as hers.

"Don't go!" Grace exclaimed, grabbing his sleeve. Xavier looked down at his captured sleeve, puzzled by her actions.

"The restroom is dirty. Use a different one," she advised. Grace tried to pull Xavier away, but he stood firm.

A frown crossed Xavier's face as he noticed a familiar scent emanating from this woman. It was somewhat like Grace's personal scent.

"Let go," Xavier demanded, his voice as cool as ever.

Just then, the restroom door swung open, and Ryan emerged, looking quite pleased with himself. But upon seeing Xavier, Ryan nearly fainted in shock.

"Xavier, what brings you here?" Ryan asked, nervously.

His eyes were fixated on the stunning woman next to Xavier. Did she lure Xavier there? Yet Xavier appeared as indifferent as ever. A snide laugh escaped Ryan, convinced the woman had been rejected.

After a moment, the door opened again, and Kelly stepped out, her face flushed. An observant eye would notice fresh marks on her neck, clear evidence of recent activity.

Embarrassed, Kelly hid behind Ryan.

"Ryan..." she uttered.

The fear struck Ryan as soon as he caught Xavier's piercing gaze, and he quickly blurted out, "Xavier, I swear, I didn't do a thing. Kelly said something was caught in her hair, and I was just helping her out."

The excuse was flimsy at best.

A sarcastic smile played on Grace's lips. ‘Helping her with her hair? Does he think Xavier's a fool?’, she thought.

Xavier had no interest in meddling with Ryan's affairs; however, he glanced at Grace, a fleeting look that lingered just a second too long before he walked away.

Once Xavier left, Grace knew better than to stay and deal with Ryan and Kelly.

As Grace headed to another restroom, a flicker of insecurity ignited within Kelly. The way Ryan drooled over Grace was unmistakable. Feeling threatened, Kelly followed Grace and, once she entered the next restroom, locked the door from the outside and hung a sign that read, "Cleaning in Progress."

With a cold smile, Kelly left Grace trapped inside, curious to see how she would escape.

After washing her hands, Grace moved to leave, only to find the door jammed shut. She suspected the lock was broken.

Grace sent Angela a message, and Angela quickly arrived at the restroom and freed Grace from her accidental confinement.

"Grace, did you upset someone? I saw a 'Cleaning in Progress' sign outside the door. It's clear someone did this on purpose. Are they dumb? Don't they know you can just call someone?" Angela ranted with a mix of concern and bewilderment.

"I think someone's just jealous because you're pretty. Could it be Edith? She was suspecting you had a thing for Omari earlier," Angela continued her speculation.

Grace hadn't spoken much with anyone else that evening, it was unlikely she'd managed to offend someone. Edith doing something like this at such an event seemed implausible.

"It's probably not her. Let's just get out of here," Grace said, and she walked out of the restroom with Angela. As they exited, Grace spotted Kelly hastily moving away, a guilty look plastered on her fleeing figure.

Kelly was biting her lip, frustrated that her plan had backfired. Yet, her anger hadn't subsided.

After a private encounter with Ryan in the restroom that failed to satiate her, Kelly was seething with jealousy over the attention he paid to another woman. Ryan kept commenting on her figure, her dress, asserting that only she could pull off such an outfit.

Watching Grace from behind the shadows, Kelly plotted silently.

Carrying a glass of wine, she intentionally approached Grace, who was tucked in a corner, engrossed in her phone, dealing with work, unaware of Kelly's proximity.

Kelly feigned a stumble, tilting her wine glass and spilling red wine all over Grace's pale blue dress, immediately creating a stark stain.

"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I just twisted my ankle a bit," Kelly said with a forced frailty.

Grace narrowed her eyes at Kelly, all too aware of the act. She hadn't troubled Kelly that evening, but this wasn't the first time Kelly had targeted her.

Without hesitation, Grace lifted her foot and kicked Kelly's ankle. Caught off guard and in pain, Kelly toppled in front of Grace.

"Even if you've twisted your ankle, you don't have to bow down to me," Grace remarked dryly.

Biting her lip, Kelly attempted to get up, only to have Grace douse her with a splash of her own drink, leaving Kelly in a panicked fluster. "Oops, sorry. That was totally my bad. I just didn't grip my glass tightly enough."

"You! I'm Ryan Montgomery's date tonight. How dare you splash wine on me?" Kelly exclaimed, mortified.

"What of it? Even if you were a princess, I wouldn't hesitate to splash wine on you," Grace stated, nonchalantly.

"I'm warning you, stay away from Ryan. He likes me best," Kelly asserted, her pride wounded.

"I'm not interested in dogs. Only you would treasure him like that. In that case, keep a closer eye on your man and prevent him from bothering other women." With that, Grace turned and left without a backward glance.

Kelly quickly stood up from the ground, grateful that she was in a more secluded area. No one noticed her embarrassed state.

Kelly thought, ‘If that woman dares to flirt with Ryan, I definitely won't let her off the hook.’

"Angela, I'm sorry. I stained your gown," Grace apologized. She felt guilty toward Angela since she had designed it with great care.

Upon seeing the stain on the gown, Angela quickly took Grace upstairs. "Grace, who did this? Is someone bullying you?"

Grace revealed, "It was Kelly. She thought I was trying to seduce Ryan, so she came looking for trouble. Don't worry. I gave her a piece of my mind. But her gown was cheap. Mine's priceless. I took the loss."
