Chapter 165 The Gift Xavier Bought

Grace withdrew her gaze. "Angela, let's go. If you really like it, we can come back next time."

"Are we leaving already?" Angela asked.

Grace said, "If Xavier sees me with you, won't he easily associate me with the model on the runway? Hurry, we can't let him see us!"

With that, Grace turned and walked away quickly.

"Grace, wait for me," Angela hurriedly chased after her.

"Grace, are you okay?"

Grace forced a smile. "I'm fine."

"That's good." Angela had always felt that there was something between Grace and Xavier, but as long as Grace was okay, that was all that mattered.

"Let's head back," Grace said.

"Alright," Angela agreed. On the way back, Angela kept talking.

But Grace didn't feel as happy. She kept seeing images of Xavier and Stephanie together in her mind.

They seemed like a well-matched couple in terms of family background and status.

"Is it pretty or not, Xavier? Tell me, look at me. Which one of these looks the best?" Stephanie tried on one piece of jewelry after another.

"As long as you like it," Xavier said, neither complimenting nor criticizing, not even looking at Stephanie.

Stephanie was clearly dissatisfied with his response.

She handed the jewelry to the clerk. "Wrap this up for me."

She didn't even inquire about the price; after all, the Park family wasn't lacking in money.

The clerk beamed with joy. This was a necklace worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and selling just one would meet his monthly sales target.

"Miss, why not take a look at this? It's also a unique necklace from our store. With your fair skin, it would suit you very well." The clerk brought out a few more pieces.

Stephanie had plenty of jewelry, and these were all quite similar. She wasn't particularly interested.

"This necklace can only be worn with your kind of elegance," the clerk continued.

Stephanie waved her hand. "I'll buy it."

The clerk then recommended other pieces of jewelry, but Stephanie had lost interest. "Do you have anything else in your store?"

The clerk thought for a moment. "We recently received a pair of earrings. Would you like to take a look at them, Miss?"

"Bring them up quickly."

The clerk soon brought them out. They were vintage teardrop earrings, with rubies entwined in gold threads, dazzling and immediately catching Stephanie's eye.

"These are truly beautiful!" It wasn't often that something caught Stephanie's eye.

Even Xavier glanced at the earrings.

The clerk introduced, "Of course, this craftsmanship is now lost, and these rubies were once passed down through the hands of royalty five hundred years ago. They are unique in the world."

"Can I try them on?" Stephanie asked.

The rubies were red, and Stephanie wasn't sure if they would suit her. She didn't have any red necklaces because she had tried them before, and they made her look darker.

The clerk hesitated. "I'm sorry, miss, but these earrings are too expensive. It is not allowed to try them on."

"Expensive? How much?" Stephanie asked, thinkingthought, 'They are just earrings; how expensive can they be?'

"Ten million dollars," the clerk quoted.

Stephanie hadn't expected that a pair of earrings could be so expensive.

But ten million dollars wasn't too much money.

However, Stephanie felt they might not suit her, so she decided against it.

"Ok, thank you."

The clerk didn't want to give up. The earrings were beautiful, but no one was willing to spend that much money on them.

"Please reconsider. It really suits you," the clerk said.

Stephanie hesitated again and thought for a moment. "Then wrap it up for me."

"These earrings don't suit you," Xavier suddenly spoke.

Stephanie was taken aback. "They don't suit me? Then I don't want them."

The clerk, who had almost made the sale, was disappointed. But before he could show his frustration, he heard Xavier say, "Wrap them up for me."

Stephanie was surprised. "Xavier, are you buying these earrings?"

"Yes."

"Why are you buying them?" Stephanie asked.

"To give as a gift."

Stephanie was anxious. "To whom?"

Xavier didn't answer; It was none of Stephanie's business.

When he saw the earrings, he immediately thought of Grace. She had beautifully shaped earlobes and a long, fair neck. The long, dangling style of the earrings would be difficult for most people to pull off.

Stephanie didn't suit this style, but Xavier could easily imagine how stunning Grace would look wearing them. So, without any hesitation, he bought them.

"Tell me who you're giving them to. Such expensive jewelry shouldn't be given to just anyone. Why not give them to me instead?" Stephanie requested.

"They don't suit you."

Stephanie was unhappy. At that moment, Joseph returned from the restroom.

"How's the shopping going? Did you find anything you like?"

"I did, but..."

Stephanie had wanted the earrings first, but Xavier was buying them to give to someone else.

Who was he giving such expensive jewelry to?

Xavier had no interest in shopping. Seeing Joseph return, he spoke up.

"Mr. Park, I'm sorry, but there's an urgent matter at the office, and I need to go back. If you and Miss. Park gets tired of shopping, the driver can take you home. I must leave first."

"Go ahead, don't worry about us. Thank you, Xavier," Joseph said.

Xavier quickly left, and Stephanie stomped her foot. "Grandpa, why did you let him go? He's going back to Skigeth tomorrow, and I hardly get to spend time with him."

Joseph sighed, "Stephanie, he's not someone you can control. How about I introduce you to some other good men?"

"I don't want anyone else. You know I only like Xavier. Am I really your granddaughter? Why won't you help me?"

"I could have kept an eye on him in Skigeth, but you insisted on bringing me back."

Joseph said, "Xavier is different from other men. The more you cling to him, the more he'll be annoyed by you."

"I don't care!" Stephanie turned and ran off, not caring if Joseph could keep up with her.

Grace returned to the hotel, feeling a bit tired. She put her things down and went straight to the bathroom for a shower, then lay down on the bed.

Angela noticed and asked, "Grace, are you going to bed this early?"

"Yes," Grace buried her head in the blanket. "I'm a bit tired."

Angela hesitated. "Is it because you saw Xavier? Did he affect you?"

Grace's head popped out from under the blanket. "What does he have to do with it? Why would I be affected by him? I'm not revolving around him."

"Then why are you acting so strange?"

"How am I acting strange? This is perfectly normal. I'm just tired. Aren't we going back to Skigeth tomorrow? Go to sleep!"

Grace pulled Angela down to lie beside her. As long as she fell asleep, she wouldn't think about Xavier anymore!
