Chapter 485 Will We Always Be Together Like This?

Xavier mentioned many other techniques, saying that sometimes winning isn't about the cards' value but their order and how you play them.

Grace tried two more times and realized that Victor and the others were indeed bluffing her. Following Xavier's advice, Grace actually won two rounds.

However, once Victor noticed, he quickly changed his strategy and started teaming up with Colin.

Grace couldn't beat them, so Xavier whispered more strategies in her ear. By the end, although Grace didn't win every time, her chances of losing had significantly decreased.

With more practice, Grace became more skilled and started winning quite a bit on her own.

The chips she had lost began to return to her hands slowly.

Although she didn't win everything back, she did recover a portion.

Grace handed all her chips to Xavier. "They're all yours."

"You're giving me all your money?" Xavier asked.

Grace replied, "Most of it was yours to begin with."

Xavier chuckled and accepted them, then said to the others who were still eager to play, "It's getting late; we should head back and rest."

Who would have thought that the word "rest" would come out of Xavier's mouth? This guy loved staying up late, often working until two or three in the morning. And now, it wasn't even midnight, and he thought it was time to go back and rest.

"It's still early, isn't it?" Victor said. They were all night owls, especially Lucius, who often filmed at night.

"Then you keep playing. Grace and I are heading back."

Grace needed a good rest; staying up late was bad for her health.

Victor swore he needed to find a girlfriend soon so he could leave even earlier than Xavier next time.

"Yeah, we're heading back," Grace said, feeling a bit tired.

"Alright, let's play again next time. Colin, you won't be leaving so soon, right?"

Colin replied, "I plan to stay a bit longer. Skigeth is really nice, the scenery is beautiful, and it's a great place to live."

"Then, as the host, I must take good care of you."

Victor and the others planned to play a bit longer while Grace and Xavier left first.

Since Xavier had been drinking, they called a driver and soon arrived at Grace's place.

Getting out of the car, Xavier and Grace held hands as they entered the elevator.

Grace saw their reflection in the elevator; Xavier was a good head taller than her, standing nearly 6.4 feet tall.

"Do you think we'll always be together like this?" Grace asked.

Xavier tightened his grip on her hand. "We will."

Definitely!

As soon as they opened the door, Xavier pressed Grace against it and kissed her.

Xavier had drunk quite a bit, and although he had some tea, he still smelled of alcohol, especially when they kissed.

Grace ended up smelling like alcohol, too. Xavier's kisses were gentle and lingering, making Grace's legs go weak.

Xavier wrapped his arms around Grace's waist, lifted her, and placed her on the sofa. He leaned over and kissed her on the couch for a while.

Then Xavier held her, burying his head in her neck. "Grace."

He really liked her!

"You're drunk. Go wash up and sleep," Grace patted him.

But Xavier didn't want to let go; he wanted to hold her like this forever.

For some reason, deep down, he felt a bit anxious, as if something unexpected might happen.

Grace remembered she had promised Lucius that she would check on Tristan. The next day, she went to the address.

She knocked on the door, and it was quickly opened. Tristan looked surprised to see Grace.

"Grace? How did you know I live here?"

Of course, Lucius had given her the address.

But she had promised Lucius not to say anything, so Grace said, "Mr. Hastings told me. I saw online that you were injured."

"Come in," Tristan said, inviting Grace inside.

Tristan's place wasn't very big. "It might be a bit small, but I bought it with my own money."

Grace placed the gift she had brought aside. "It's not small at all. How's your injury?"

Tristan replied, "It's fine. It might delay filming a bit, but I'm recovering well. I should be back on set in a few days."

Grace noticed the TV was playing a movie, and Lucius was on the screen.

Tristan quickly said, "I had some free time, so I studied Lucius's acting, trying to learn from him. Although I might never catch up to him."

He really wanted to catch up to Lucius. Lucius was his role model and his goal.

"Why not? You're a great actor, too. And there's no need for you to worry about catching up to him. If it were that easy, everyone would be a superstar. Otherwise, why is Lucius the only one?"

Tristan knew Grace was trying to comfort him. He quietly said, "I'm different from the others."

Because of their relationship, he wanted even more to catch up to him, to make him his goal.

Grace knew their relationship was sensitive. "Let's not talk about this. I have something else for you."

She took out a document and placed it in front of him. Tristan picked it up. "A renewal contract?"

"Yes, our contract was only for a year. It's almost time to renew. If you have any conditions, feel free to mention them."

Tristan flipped through it and saw that the price had increased significantly, even more than his current market value, along with many other benefits.

He was stunned.

He had thought that with Iris's current success, they might hire a big-name star for endorsements.

Grace said, "Iris is expanding internationally, and you're the global ambassador. The price should be higher. If you think it's not enough, we can discuss it."

"No, it's more than enough. Thank you, Grace." Tristan was very grateful. If Grace hadn't chosen him for the company, he might not have had any roles to play.

"I'd like to say that you don't need to thank me. You're very talented and a great fit for Iris."

Tristan was genuinely grateful to Grace. She was his first benefactor.

Grace noticed that Tristan's leg injury wasn't too serious, which put her at ease.

She also saw that Tristan's place had a lot of things related to Lucius, including DVDs, posters, and interview magazines.

It seemed he really wanted his brother Lucius's approval. He couldn't see Lucius often, so he quietly followed him as a fan.

After leaving Tristan's place, Grace saw a message from Lucius: "How is he?"

They had exchanged contact information at a previous gathering. Grace had initially typed, "He's fine."

But after thinking for a moment, she deleted it and wrote, "He's seriously injured. It doesn't look good."
