Chapter 88 Grace Must Have Set Me Up
"It must be Grace. She just caused a scene at Mr. Gunter's place." Zach's face darkened.
"How could Grace know about this?" Taylor asked.
Zach said, "She seemed to have run into Madison at that hotel. Weren't she and Madison always at odds? Why would she care about this?"
"Taylor, you also know Grace's temper. She didn't even spare me when she scolded me. We must treat this matter as if I had nothing to do with it."
"Hmm." Taylor thought about the stocks and reluctantly complied.
The knocking sound continued, alarming the servants. One of the servants glanced at the master and mistress upstairs.
"Sir, madam, is there still someone visiting at this late hour? I will go and open the door."
"No, it's Grace. Send her away and say we're not here," Zach said, getting irritated at the mention of Grace.
How many good things Grace ruined? If it hadn't been for Grace, he wouldn't have betrayed his own daughter.
Zach even said to Taylor, "All in all, it's all because of this Grace. If the Reed family had forgiven Mr. Reed when they offered money back then, we would have had a large sum of money and wouldn't have had to rely on Mr. Gunter."
"Taylor, if you want to blame someone, blame Grace," Zach directly shifted all the blame onto Grace.
Taylor never got along with Grace; she couldn't stand that woman's daughter.
The Lewis family raised Grace without any contribution to the family. Instead, they made life difficult for her daughter.
The maid didn't open the door, so Grace kept knocking.
Through the door, you could hear Grace's voice, but Zach couldn't make out the words clearly.
"What is she saying out there?" Zach asked.
The servant replied, "Ms. Grace said that if we don't open the door, she will call the police to come and open it."
This Grace is always calling the cops every day!
However, he was indeed afraid of the police coming over, as it would cause quite a bit of trouble and could escalate the situation.
"Taylor, you go and accompany our daughter, Grace. I will take care of things on my end."
"Hmm." Taylor didn't want to see Grace either, so she went into Madison's room.
The door was finally opened, and the servant called out, "Ms. Grace, you're back."
"Hmm, I'll find Zach."
"He is not here, sir."
However, Zach had already come down from upstairs, waved his hand, and gestured for the servant to go down.
Grace looked at Zach in front of her, realizing that, at some point, her so-called father had become a stranger to her.
On the surface, Zach seemed like a gentle and refined man. He looked decent and carried himself with a certain grace, but ironically, it was precisely this type of person who turned out to be the most ruthless and despicable.
Zach saw Grace and smiled, saying, "Grace, you're back! Weren't you saying you wouldn't come back on the phone? Have you eaten yet? How about I have someone cook you a bowl of noodles?"
"Zach, are you still fit to be a father?"
Zach couldn't maintain the smile on his face. "What are you talking about? I don't understand what you mean."
Up to this moment, Grace fully understood what her mother had said before: the prettier, the more dangerous.
She felt that if she hadn't pretended to be ugly since she was young, disguising her face, the person sent to that room today might not have been Madison but her Grace.
Zach has gone crazy. There's nothing he can't do.
"How old is that man, and are you willing to send Madison over to him?"
"Grace, don't speak so harshly! I didn't do anything wrong. I warned you to mind your own business!"
Grace looked at Zach and felt like throwing up. That face was just too ugly.
"It's not really my business, but once I've seen it, I can't just ignore it." It's still Madison's call on how this is going to be handled.
Grace went straight up the stairs and went to Madison's room.
In the room, Madison had already woken up, crying in Taylor's arms, her eyes swollen from crying.
Taylor was still comforting her daughter, feeling sad herself as well.
Grace knocked on the door and entered, seeing Madison on the bed. She had indeed arrived late. Judging by Madison's appearance, she knew that something had already happened.
"Madison, I have something to tell you."
However, when Madison saw Grace, her emotions became stirred up.
CGrace, it is you, isn't it?" Madison lunged directly at Grace as if she wanted to tear Grace in half.
"Madison, are you out of your mind?"
"It's you who hates me so much. It must be you colluding with that man. Yaeli is someone from your store. I bumped into you in the parking lot. Who else could it be if not you?"
The hatred in Madison's eyes, if it could kill, might have taken Grace down by now.
Her lips trembled as she muttered, "It must be you. Only you would hate me so much."
"Why are you treating me like this? What did I do to offend you? Where did I go wrong?" Madison cried out loudly as she spoke.
She picked up everything she could find nearby to throw at Grace.
Grace is not a fool; of course, she can dodge.
People like Madison really aren't worthy of sympathy.
"This has nothing to do with me at all. I don't know who Yaeli is, and meeting me there was purely coincidental. The person who conspired with that individual to send you over there was Zach. He was planning to exchange you for money."
"You're talking nonsense! How could it be Dad? Dad loves me so much and treats me so well!" Madison couldn't believe it.
It was Dad who found her in the parking lot and brought her back.
Dad's favorite person since she was a child. How could he possibly do such a thing?
It's Grace, it must be Grace!
"Mom, did Grace frame me, right?" Madison looked urgently at Taylor as if seeking answers from Taylor.
"How could it be, Dad? Dad loved me. She just wanted to sow discord!"
Taylor patted Madison on the back, saying, "How could it be Dad? Dad definitely wouldn't do these things."
"Madison, I thought you had some brains, but now it seems like you deserve all this. Zach is not a good person; he just used you to make money. Believe it or not, if I hadn't rushed over, you would still be suffering. Your pain is not over yet.
"I came because I couldn't just stand by and watch these things happen without doing anything."
Last time, it was also because Xavier was there that she could safely escape, so she was willing to be a helpful person and contribute her own efforts.
"Since the last time Zach forgave Tom, you should have seen what kind of person he really is. He is simply not fit to be a father. There should still be evidence on your body. I advise you to report to the authorities so that the bad people can be punished. Otherwise, the bad people are likely to become even more brazen. You may not only suffer harm once, but there will be more people like you who become victims," Grace said.
If it were Grace, she wouldn't give up easily. Even though her power was very small, she would still fight these people to the end.
