Chapter 284 Did You Cast a Spell on Me?

Despite Xavier's refusal to admit it, Grace was convinced it must be him.

Before Xavier could respond, Victor had already crossed the finish line.

If Victor hadn't witnessed Grace get out of the passenger seat, he would have suspected that Xavier had taken over driving.

Victor remarked, "Grace, you're incredible. Such skill, yet you remain so humble."

Grace responded, "It is all thanks to the exceptional guidance of my teacher."

If it weren't for Xavier's guidance, she wouldn't have been so confident.

"Teacher? Who did you learn from?" Victor asked curiously.

"Go get me a glass of water," Xavier commanded Victor.

"Why should I listen to you? No way!" Victor crossed his arms.

"A bet's a bet. Serve me for a month. For this month, you'd better be at my beck and call," Xavier said coldly.

"You..." Victor gritted his teeth and angrily went to get Xavier some water.

Xavier had another request; he wanted lemon honey water.

The customer center provided ample provisions of complimentary water and snacks for visitors.

While adding honey, Victor put in two extra spoonfuls. He knew Xavier didn't like sweet things; he did it on purpose.

However, after Xavier received the water, he tested the temperature with his hand. Once it had cooled a bit, he handed it to Grace. "Mr. Hastings personally got this for you. Just tell him if you need anything in the future."

Grace didn't expect that Xavier would actually ask for water for her; she had wondered why Xavier suddenly wanted to drink lemon honey water.

"Thank you," Grace said, taking the glass and holding it in her hands.

After a brief silence, Victor said, "Grace, you should thank me. I was the one who got it!"

Grace said, "Isn't that what you're supposed to do? A bet's a bet, Mr. Hastings."

"Alright, you all are bullying me!" Victor pretended to be angry.

Time was almost up. After a simple meal at the racetrack, they left for the nearby resort.

This was Grace's second time here, and it felt completely different from the last time.

Last time, Grace felt like she was here to suffer; this time, it felt like a real vacation.

Last time, the weather wasn't as hot. Now, it was the peak of summer, making the resort especially comfortable.

The sea breeze here was incredibly refreshing and cool. Moreover, the resort's reputation was quite renowned, attracting many people to choose this place for their vacation, especially during the summer holiday.

As the owner, Xavier always had access to available rooms. The white villa was not open to the public and was exclusively for Xavier.

With their luggage having been sent ahead, they all arrived empty-handed.

Victor and Isaac even shared a suite. It was large with two rooms, so each had their own space.

Grace looked at Xavier. "Where's my room?"

Xavier met her gaze and replied, "It's full. There are no other rooms."

Victor raised his hand. "I can vouch for that. This place is really popular; there are no extra rooms."

He continued, "And we're all sharing suites. Grace, you can't stay with us, can you?"

"Then I..." Before Grace could finish, Xavier interrupted, "Come with me."

Victor pulled Isaac to their room.

This trip was mainly to bring Grace and Xavier together; they were just the supporting cast.

Grace returned to the villa once more; the environment remained unchanged, meticulously cleaned yet uninhabited.

Grace asked, "Am I staying here?"

Xavier said. "Yes."

Grace asked, "What about you?"

Xavier paused with the luggage in his hand. So Grace hadn't even considered staying with him?

Xavier asked, "What do you think?"

Grace said, "So we have to stay together? Given our current status, isn't that inappropriate?"

"Inappropriate? In what way?" Xavier put down the luggage and looked at Grace.

Grace said, "In every way! We're not married, so how is it inappropriate?"

She smiled and continued, "So as long as we're single, we can stay together? Then next time I go out with someone else, I can save on a room."

Xavier said, "No way!"

Before Grace could finish, Xavier's body pressed down on her.

As they approached the door, Grace found herself pressed against the wall. This familiar position had occurred many times before, yet this time, it felt as if they were both unusually clear-headed at this moment.

Grace asked, "What do you mean?"

Xavier said, "I mean, you can only share a room with me.Even if you go out with Angela, you need two rooms. I'll cover the cost," Xavier said, his voice thick with jealousy.

Grace looked up. Sometimes her eyes seemed pure and clear, but other times, they were full of allure.

Grace said, "Mr. Montgomery, you're really something. We're over, yet you still care so much. Last time, you said..."

"I regret it. Last time doesn't count." Xavier suddenly hugged Grace, something he had wanted to do for a long time.

Grace was caught off guard. Xavier's strong arms and unique scent overwhelmed her.

Grace said, "So, Mr. Montgomery, you actually regret it?"

"Why can't I regret it?" Xavier's deep eyes seemed to pull her in.

Grace asked, " Why do you regret it?"

Xavier's soft laughter reached her ears. "That's what I want to know. Did you cast a spell on me?"

Otherwise, why did he always feel so empty inside?

It was an indescribable feeling, a heart-wrenching pain. Xavier felt uneasy whenever he couldn't see her, and even more so when she was with other men.

Grace said, "If I had that power, I'd cast a spell on everyone to make them listen to me!"

Xavier said, "If it's not a spell, then why do so many people like you?"

"Who likes me?" Grace was unaware of this.

She only felt that everyone disliked her and was hostile towards her, like Madison, Kelly, and Wendy.

Xavier gritted his teeth. "Ryan and Omari."

Both of them had their eyes on Grace. Ryan might not be a threat, but he was annoying.

As for Omari, with Angela around, Grace couldn't completely cut ties with him. But as long as Grace didn't like Omari, it was fine.

"Ryan and Omari perhaps was out of their mind." Grace didn't think she had anything attractive. She always saw herself as an ordinary person.

"So, only those two like me?" Grace blinked. "Are there others?"

She looked into Xavier's eyes and asked, "What do you think?"

Xavier's Adam's apple bobbed, and his gaze deepened. He began to speak...
