Chapter 634 Grace Is Still Waiting for Him
Just as Grace stood up, Dorian suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"Grace, I..."
His Adam's apple bobbed before he spoke, "I remember everything now. Your mom and I had a past. You might be..."
You might be his daughter!
Dorian's eyes reddened. He clearly remembered that he and Elizabeth had been intimate. If he calculated the time, it would mean Grace was his daughter.
He opened his mouth but didn't know how to describe it.
If he really was Grace's father, would she accept him after knowing, or would she blame him?
He wasn't a competent person. Although he hadn't wronged anyone in his political career over the years, he felt he owed Elizabeth and Grace deeply.
It was his failure to protect them that led Elizabeth to leave alone and hide in this city, causing Grace to live a life of grievance for over twenty years.
Grace said, "I already know. Jared told me before that he wasn't my father."
Dorian was her biological father. Grace had known this for a while but had never thought to disturb Dorian.
She never imagined she would have such a powerful father, and since Dorian didn't have those memories, it was better to leave things as they were, without interference.
"So, you remember everything about you and my mom?" Grace asked.
Dorian nodded, "I remember everything!"
He owed them too much.
Suddenly, Dorian reached out and hugged Grace tightly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know you went through so much. I didn't know she left, and I didn't know I had a daughter. Grace, you can blame me all you want."
Dorian was filled with endless regret. The woman he had loved so much, Elizabeth, had been gone for so many years.
Grace was glad Dorian remembered, but she still couldn't bring herself to call him "father."
Grace said, "My mom had her reasons for her choices. I won't blame you. But Mr. Astor, I think things are fine as they are now. You're a king. If people found out about this, it could cause trouble for you. My mom and I don't want to cause you any trouble."
"There won't be any trouble, don't worry. You're my daughter, and I won't let you suffer."
But he needed to go back and divorce Jane first!
That malicious Jane had hypnotized him for so many years and, together with Jared, had driven Elizabeth to her death. He couldn't stay married to Jane any longer!
Their marriage had never been about love; it was forced by his parents.
Grace shook her head, "No need, Mr. Astor. I don't need that."
Dorian's body stiffened, "Grace, are you blaming me?"
"I don't mean that. I think everything is fine as it is now. No matter my identity, the fact of whose child I am won't change. I don't have any ambitions. I want to stay in Skigeth."
She would stay here, waiting for her Xavier to return.
"By the way, Mr. Astor, why are you in Skigeth?" Grace asked curiously.
Dorian sighed, "I know about Xavier."
When he heard the news, Dorian was shocked.
He had met Xavier before and thought he was an impressive person. He believed Xavier could make Grace happy.
But he hadn't expected Xavier to disappear.
Worried, Dorian came personally. After investigating, he found out that today was supposed to be Xavier and Grace's wedding day.
He guessed Grace might be here, so he came.
Sure enough, seeing Grace alone in her wedding dress was heartbreaking.
The moment he saw Grace, Dorian wanted to hug her.
But Grace's appearance triggered his brain, and he fainted afterward.
Grace said, "I don't think he's dead."
Dorian looked at her, and Grace lowered her eyes, then said, "Just like back then, if you hadn't been hypnotized and brainwashed, forgetting everything, and my mom suddenly left, would you think she was dead?"
"No," Dorian replied.
But the situations were entirely different. Xavier...
But maybe, with such belief, Grace could continue moving forward!
Dorian was delighted that Grace was his daughter.
No wonder he always felt an inexplicable closeness whenever he saw Grace, like a blood connection.
"Grace, will you come back to Aetheria with me?" Dorian asked.
Grace said, "I do need to go to Aetheria."
After her grandfather's burial, she hadn't visited. She planned to mourn him in the next few days.
"Alright, I'll arrange it."
Dorian arranged a private jet, and soon he and Grace were on their way to Aetheria.
Upon returning, Dorian immediately announced his emotional separation from Jane and quickly divorced her.
Jane certainly disagreed, but Dorian insisted. If Jane's past actions were exposed, she would be utterly disgraced.
With no choice, Jane reluctantly agreed.
The news shocked the world.
Weren't they a famously loving couple? How did they suddenly divorce without warning?
But Dorian didn't accept any media interviews, regardless of the speculation.
Grace also heard the news. She didn't expect Dorian to be so responsible. His status made a casual divorce a big deal, but he was resolute, which Grace admired.
Grace visited her grandfather's grave, sitting alone by his tombstone for a long time, talking to him.
Don't worry, Grandpa. I'll be strong!
Though you can't be by my side, I found my father, another family member.
Grace didn't stay in Aetheria for long before rushing back home. She had many things to do; God didn't give her time or opportunity to be weak.
The rescue team still had no news, but Grace didn't give up. Even if it took one or two years, she kept searching.
Grace's reputation gradually spread worldwide because the current CEO of DG Group was a woman.
She was young but decisive in her actions. Her methods and style were just like Xavier's.
Don't underestimate her because she's a woman. Her intellect was unmatched, and she was highly capable, earning admiration through her strength.
When DG Group was on the brink of collapse, Grace bore immense pressure and turned the tide.
Without relying on anyone, she proved herself through her abilities, earning everyone's respect. Grace's name became synonymous with a strong woman, a legend in the business world.
The only constant was that she was still waiting for him.
