Chapter 279 Xavier Looks So Good Like This
Grace and Angela came up and saw the scene, both feeling suppressed.
Seeing Angela and Grace, Omari stood up. "Angela, Grace."
Xavier glanced over indifferently.
Angela said to Grace, "You go ahead; I'll take care of Omari."
Then Angela pulled Omari. "Omari, come in. I brought you some food."
Omari said, "Did Grace make this herself? It must be delicious; I'll finish it all."
Grace walked towards Xavier, afraid he might be angry. She said, "Angela and I made this together, so we brought some for Omari too. We also ran into Scott and Steven downstairs. Steven seems to be sick and is in the hospital, so we brought some for them as well."
"Okay," Xavier responded, displaying a reasonable understanding. He recognized that Grace's kindness didn't stem from romantic feelings towards others but rather her compassionate nature.
His pure aversion to Omari had nothing to do with Grace.
After lunch, Isaac and Victor came to see Xavier in the afternoon.
Seeing Xavier in hospital gown, Victor couldn't help but laugh. "So even someone as tough as you ends up in the hospital. I need to take a picture to remember this."
Despite saying that, when Xavier glanced at him, Victor didn't even dare to take out his phone.
"When are you getting discharged?" Victor asked.
Grace said, "Xavier can be discharged tomorrow."
"That's great. Should we go out and have some fun after you're discharged?" Victor suggested.
Xavier coldly replied, "Busy." He hadn't handled much work these past few days in the hospital, and now it was piling up.
Victor fell silent. Why didn't Xavier understand? He was trying to help him.
Victor gave Xavier a look, but Xavier just thought he had a twitch in his eye.
Seeing Xavier didn't get it, Victor turned to Grace. "If he doesn't go, then Grace, let's go!"
"I..." Grace glanced at Xavier. She was also actually quite busy because she hadn't managed much of the company's affairs in recent days either.
Seeing Grace hadn't refused, Victor said, "Then it's settled. Grace, you pick the time and place. We can do anything you want, just to relax and celebrate."
Grace thought, 'A little relaxation won't hurt.'
So, she said, "Mr. Hastings, you decide. I'm fine with anything."
"Alright, how about we go racing? There's a track near your vacation villa, and we can stay there for the night." Victor looked at Xavier.
"Okay." Xavier nodded.
Grace's eyes flashed with surprise. Xavier's vacation villa?
"Grace, you look surprised," Victor remarked.
Grace asked in shock, "That vacation villa belongs to Xavier?"
"You didn't know?" Victor explained, "Xavier bought it years ago when it was still a wasteland. Who knew the area would develop recently? The land's value has multiplied in Xavier's management, and now it's a vacation villa with a constant flow of visitors."
Now it made sense to Grace why Xavier had been at the vacation villa last time. She had initially it was out of character for him to go to a vacation villa.
It turned out Xavier was the owner, and his last visit was probably to inspect the work.
Victor asked, "Isn't Mr. Montgomery rich?"
Grace said, "It's quite surprising."
Grace didn't expect such a large vacation villa to be Xavier's.
"Then it's settled. You all have to come, no excuses." Upon speaking, Victor left with Isaac.
Grace was hesitated to speak.
Xavier saw through it and said, "Go ahead."
Grace spoke directly, "When I went to the vacation villa before, I checked, and the owner didn't seem to be you."
Xavier said, "I didn't want Patrick to know, so I registered it under another company, with the legal person being an external member of the Montgomery Group."
Grace suddenly felt that Xavier's assets and methods were probably more extensive than she knew.
Grace suddenly became curious. "So how many companies and industries do you have in Skigeth that are like this, seemingly unrelated to you but actually yours?"
Xavier listed a few company names, and Grace was even more surprised. She was familiar with these companies, which were considered significant enterprises in Skigeth with diverse business ventures. To her surprise, they all belonged to Xavier.
Grace said, "Mr. Montgomery, how does your brain work? Can you share some of that intelligence with me?"
Xavier was not only more handsome than others but also smarter. How could others compete?
Xavier said, "It's natural."
Grace fell silent.
"But there are ways to become smarter," Xavier said calmly.
"What ways?" Grace couldn't help but ask, even though she knew it was probably a joke.
"Our family has a rule, it can't be shared," Xavier said it so seriously that it seemed almost real.
Grace remarked, "Your family is still so feudal? Don’t tell me it’s one of those 'favor the boys over the girls' things."
Xavier looked at her with deep meaning. "No, we only pass it to family, not outsiders."
Grace was surprised. Xavier meant she was an outsider.
Since she wasn't part of the Montgomery family, she would never know.
Grace said, "I don't really want to know. Your method probably doesn't work anyway, otherwise why is Ryan so dumb?"
Xavier said, "He's naturally dumb."
Grace found it amusing when Xavier belittled others. He said the funniest things with the most serious face.
Xavier did look much better than a few days ago, which made Grace happy too.
When she was sick before, Xavier took care of her like this.
So these past few days, Grace had been taking care of Xavier.
"After you're discharged, you need to eat well. You can't be like before," Grace advised.
"I can't remember," Xavier said.
Grace didn't believe him.
"I'll tell Kieran and Mason." Grace also packed some of Xavier's things.
Suddenly, Xavier grabbed her hand.
Xavier's eyes were even deeper. "You remember for me."
Grace nodded. "Okay, I'll remember for you."
