Chapter 567 Dense Fear

"I'll have someone check it out," Xavier said, quickly sending someone to investigate.

By the time they finished their meal, all the information had arrived at Xavier's side.

After reviewing it, Xavier handed the documents to Grace. "Looks like Princess Jane York doesn't have any connection with my mom."

Jane had always been the golden child, growing up in a wealthy family as a privileged young lady, and she had been childhood friends with Dorian. However, before Dorian became king, he underwent a year of secret training, a process every king goes through. Later, Dorian ascended to the throne and married Jane, their love story becoming the envy of many. Dorian and Jane were known to be a loving and happy couple.

Based on the information, it appeared that Dorian and Jane didn't know Elizabeth.

Grace also reviewed the documents and found it odd. "If Princess Jane York doesn't know my mom, why did she react that way? Why did she come to Skigeth? Just for tourism?"

Grace felt something was off but decided to set it aside for now.

"So, when are we heading to Oakworth?" Grace returned the phone to Xavier and asked.

"Anytime works for me," Xavier replied.

"Let's go tomorrow then," Grace decided.

"Alright," Xavier agreed and began arranging for a private jet.

In the hotel room, Jane's body was still trembling uncontrollably, as if she had seen something terrifying.

"Jane, what's wrong?" Robert asked, deeply concerned. He had called a doctor, but the doctor said there was nothing physically wrong.

"Robert," Jane called out.

"I'm here!" Robert thought Jane needed something.

"Get out!" Jane pointed to the door.

Robert was speechless. "Jane, I can't leave you alone in the room. What's wrong? Is it..."

Robert had just searched online and found that in Vesperia's language, her symptoms resembled being cursed.

"I'm fine. I was just too cold. I need to rest for a while. Robert, I didn't behave too rudely just now, did I? Tell Grace that I saw the face of the person who tried to kill me, and it looked a bit like that man, so..."

Robert finally relaxed. "Alright, I'll let Grace know." Jane nodded and then pushed Robert out of the room.

Once alone, Jane immediately wanted to contact Jared. Elizabeth really had a child, and it was Grace. Did Jared know about this?

If Dorian saw Grace and remembered anything, they would be doomed.

As Jane was about to call Jared, she wondered if Jared had known all along and had been hiding it from her.

Jane thought for a moment and searched for Grace online. The domestic and international internet were different, and she quickly found a lot of information.

Not only about Grace but also her photos. Jane couldn't understand much of it, so she called a hotel staff member to ask.

The hotel staff, who spoke foreign languages, recognized Grace immediately, having seen her online many times.

The staff explained, "She's a real beauty from our country. Her Iris brand is pretty impressive, and she's reportedly engaged to Mr. Montgomery. Her family is powerful in Aetheria, with looks, talent, and a strong background."

So, folks in Vesperia knew Grace looked like this and that she was part of the Coleman family.

It seemed Grace had reunited with the Coleman family!

This complicated things further. The Coleman family was growing stronger, becoming a major aristocratic force in Aetheria, supporting much of the country's industry.

If they found out Elizabeth's death was connected to Jane, they wouldn't let her off the hook.

Given this, Jared must have known and kept it from her.

If Jared couldn't be trusted, who could she rely on?

Fear enveloped Jane, leaving her feeling powerless and unsure of what to do. Her heart was filled with dread, and her body continued to tremble.

If she hadn't come to Skigeth, would she have remained ignorant?

Meanwhile, Robert called Grace to apologize. He explained that Jane was frightened because Xavier resembled her kidnapper, leading to her reaction.

Xavier was silent.

He looked like a kidnapper?

Grace said, "Take good care of Princess Jane York. Maybe we can have dinner together another time. Are you staying in Skigeth for a while or heading back soon?"

Robert replied, "I'm not sure yet. We'll see how Jane's doing."

"Alright, but I might be heading to Oakworth in the next few days. If you need anything, feel free to reach out."

"Thanks, Grace."

"You're welcome."

Grace hung up the phone as she entered her home.

"I'll spend the afternoon packing. Since we're going to Oakworth, I'll need to bring a lot."

Grace wasn't sure when she'd return to Skigeth. Her baby was six months old, and she might stay in Oakworth to rest.

She wanted to bring all her important belongings.

Packing took the entire afternoon. Xavier didn't let Grace do any heavy lifting; she just directed while he handled everything.

"This box needs to come too," Grace said, picking up a jewelry box.

Xavier recognized it. "Isn't this..."

He opened the box to reveal a pair of earrings.

Grace had given him a watch when he gifted her the earrings. Xavier still wore the watch.

Grace hadn't worn the earrings much because they were too precious and not suitable for everyday wear.

But she always wore the hand chain.

"You gave them to me, so I'm taking them."

Xavier took the earrings out and reached for Grace's earlobe.

Grace didn't resist, letting Xavier put them on.

The cool earrings brushed against her neck, sending a chill.

Grace shivered slightly, and Xavier's lips touched her earlobe. He whispered, "Beautiful."

The earrings seemed custom-made for Grace centuries ago.

"Oh, there's something important!" Grace remembered and ran to her room, retrieving a box from a hidden spot.
