Chapter 232 Put a Bag Over Patrick and Beat Him Up
After chatting with Xavier, Grace still didn't have a solution, but she felt a lot better.
When Angela heard about it, she fumed, "Shameless! How can people be so shameless? Grace, you haven't been swayed, have you?"
"If you agree, everything you've done so far would be for nothing. Should we call the police?" Angela asked, worried.
Grace replied, "With the Montgomery family's influence, the police might ignore it. Plus, it's hard to prove legally, and Patrick might not get punished."
"So, what now? Kidnap him or Ryan and force them to hand over your mom's ashes?" Angela suggested.
Grace had thought of that. "Kidnapping is illegal. What if he doesn't comply? Are you going to kill him?"
Angela went silent. They couldn't do that. They were law-abiding, and murder was out of the question.
"Didn't you say Ryan likes you? Why not negotiate with him? If he gets the ashes, you could consider marrying him?" Angela proposed.
Grace said, "He's not dumb; he won't do that. Plus, he probably doesn't know where Patrick hid the ashes."
Angela suggested, "Why not ask Xavier for help? You two have a connection. If you ask, Xavier will help. With his influence, Patrick would hand them over."
Grace shook her head. "Xavier has helped me too much already. These are my mom's ashes; I want to handle it myself. No need to make him clash with Patrick."
"We're not that close; we have no relationship," Grace added, looking down.
She was anxious about Evelyn's ashes, but she felt Kelly should be even more anxious.
Kelly had worked hard to marry Ryan and join the Montgomery family. Given Kelly's determination, Grace still had options.
Angela, having thought of so many failed ideas, felt desperate. "What should we do? We can't just let Patrick be so arrogant."
Angela was furious, clenching her fists. If Patrick were in front of her, she'd want to punch him. In her frustration, she even threw a few punches in the air.
Seeing this, Grace's eyes lit up. "Angela, are you up for giving him a good thrashing with me?"
"Beat who? Patrick?"
"Yeah, put a bag over his head and beat him up. It might not solve anything, but it'll make us feel better," Grace said. She couldn't swallow this anger.
That night, Patrick attended a dinner party and had a few drinks, feeling a bit dizzy. As he walked to the parking lot, something suddenly covered his head. Before he could react, punches rained down on him.
"Who is it!" Patrick cried out in pain and cursed. He tried to get up but was kicked several more times, looking utterly pathetic.
Patrick had never experienced anything like this, being beaten up by someone.
Grace was having a blast, landing punch after punch on Patrick's face. Normally, she had some respect for him, but his awful behavior had pushed her over the edge. Beating him up felt like a light punishment for what he'd done!
"Who the hell are you? When I find out, you're dead!" Patrick yelled.
Grace didn't care if Patrick found out. So what if he did? She had no reason to pretend anymore.
She threw a few more punches, letting out all her anger.
Afterward, Grace was on an emotional high. She grabbed Angela and hurried outside. As they dashed into the cool night air, Grace let out a deep breath, exclaiming, "Wow, that was satisfying!"
"I feel good too. Never thought I'd get to beat up Patrick. If only we could kill him; people like him deserve it to stop them from hurting others," Angela said, having also vented her anger. She knew they couldn't kill Patrick, so she kept it within limits.
They had come prepared, wearing masks and hats. Even if Patrick found out, as long as they didn't show their faces, they could deny it.
"What about him using your mom's ashes to force you to marry Ryan?" Angela asked, still worried.
Grace thought for a moment before saying, "We'll find a solution."
They ran quickly, and by the time Patrick removed the bag from his head, no one was around. He looked down and saw he had been covered with a bag.
The chairman of the Montgomery Group, Patrick, had been beaten up in a parking lot. If this got out, how would he maintain his dignity?
Patrick got up, feeling pain all over, especially his face.
The driver, still in his seat, was oblivious to Patrick's plight. It wasn't until Patrick quietly slipped into the back seat that the driver noticed his bruised and swollen face in the rearview mirror.
He gasped, "Mr. Montgomery, are you okay?"
"Do I look okay? You're fired!" Patrick snapped.
"I..." The driver was stunned by the sudden firing.
"Get lost!" Patrick was in a terrible mood and felt like killing someone!
The driver quickly opened the door, but before he could walk far, Patrick called him back. "Get back here! Take me to the hospital!"
Realizing he had been too hasty, Patrick needed the driver to get to the hospital.
The driver returned and took Patrick to the hospital.
Patrick's eyes, nose, and mouth were all swollen. After his wounds were treated and bandaged, his head looked like it was wrapped like a mummy.
The Montgomery family quickly found out, and Ryan was the first to arrive since he was already at the hospital. Soon, Amy also arrived and started cursing, asking who had done this.
Xavier couldn't resist the opportunity to ridicule.
Spotting Patrick swathed in bandages, Xavier, usually stoic, couldn't resist teasing Patrick. With a faint smirk, he quipped, "Patrick, who did you manage to upset this time to get such swift payback?"
Patrick, with his panda-like eyes, glared at Xavier. He tried to squint to show his anger, but it only made him look more ridiculous.
Xavier took out his phone and, right in front of Patrick, casually took a photo and sent it to Grace with a message: [You did this.]
It wasn't a question; it was a statement.
