Chapter 410 Is My Figure better, Or Is Xavier's Figure Better
Grace and Sterling made their way to the restaurant together. Grace seemed a bit out of it, probably because of Xavier.
Sterling said softly, "Hey, I heard there's a hot spring nearby. Wanna check it out tomorrow?"
Grace, clearly uninterested, replied, "Mr. Wallace, if you want to go to the hot spring, go ahead. I'm not going."
Sterling sighed, "What's the fun in that? How about this: if you come with me to the hot spring tomorrow, I'll let your brother off. I know the Coleman family isn't scared of me, but if I stir up trouble, they'll definitely take a huge hit. You know that, right?"
Grace knew Sterling wasn't bluffing. This guy was crazy enough to follow through on his threats.
The next day, Grace showed up at the agreed spot in the afternoon.
The hot spring was tucked away in the back of the resort, a peaceful and quiet place, like something out of a dream.
Sterling had booked the whole hot spring just for them. No one else was around.
When Grace arrived, Sterling was already there.
He was enjoying the hot spring, with wine and cigars next to him, looking like he was having the time of his life.
Sterling was shirtless, showing off his ripped body. His chest muscles were impressive, and his abs were half-submerged in the water, looking solid but not overdone.
But his body was covered in scars, hinting at a rough past.
Sterling looked at Grace and teased, "Hey, are you checking me out? Who's got the better body, me or Xavier?"
Grace stayed silent, unable to make a comparison.
"Mr. Wallace, did you call me here just to say this stuff?" Grace was dressed conservatively, with a coat over her swimsuit, clearly not intending to get into the hot spring.
"I just wanted to have some fun, that's all. But you're all covered up, isn't that a bit much?" Sterling replied.
"You only asked me to come, not to get in the hot spring. I'm not feeling well, so I can't join you." Grace said, ready to leave.
Sterling shook his head, "That's a shame. I was hoping to see your perfect body."
Grace pursed her lips and then asked, "Why do you have so many scars?"
"Are you worried about me?" Sterling grinned.
"You're overthinking it." Grace rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed.
"It's normal for a guy to have some scars. Do you think family feuds are easy? Do you know how many people want me dead? I'm just lucky to have only a few scars." Sterling explained.
If he wasn't lucky, he wouldn't be here.
Grace knew Sterling was downplaying it. Only he knew the real danger he faced—the gunfire, the betrayals, the ambushes, and how he barely made it out alive.
Sterling handed her a glass of wine. "Since we can't soak in the hot spring together, how about a drink?"
Grace looked at the glass and declined, "Sorry, but I'm not taking any chances. Who knows what you might have put in it?"
Sterling scoffed, "Do you really think I'm that kind of guy?"
Grace responded coldly, "Mr. Wallace, you know yourself better than I do. As a woman, I have to be careful."
Sterling's smile widened, "Then why did you come here? There's no one around. If I wanted to do something, do you think anyone would come to save you?"
Grace kept her cool and said coldly, "My brother's outside. You won't get the chance, Mr. Wallace."
Sterling couldn't help but admire Grace's composure. He didn't expect her to be so level-headed and rational.
"Is Scott Coleman really your brother?" Sterling switched gears.
"That's none of your business, Mr. Wallace," Grace shot back.
Sterling downed the wine he had offered her. "How is it not? I mentioned last night that we might end up as family."
"Are you interested in me, or are you just trying to get under Xavier's skin?" Grace asked bluntly.
Sterling didn't mince words. "Both."
"Don't you want to provoke Xavier? Don't you want show him that you're doing just fine without him?" Sterling squinted at her.
Grace replied, "No, I don't. Whether I'm doing well or not is none of his business. Don't you think this is a bit childish, Mr. Wallace?"
"I don't think so. I just know that if I'm doing well, I want my enemies to know. And if I'm not, they shouldn't be living comfortably either," Sterling said with a faint smile.
Grace stayed silent.
Sterling stood up from the hot spring. He was tall and barely dressed, walking towards Grace step by step.
Sterling continued with a playful smile, "What do you think would happen if I had sex with you?"
Grace couldn't tell if Sterling was serious or joking. She stepped back and warned, "Mr. Wallace, that's not funny."
"You think I'm joking? What do you think I lack compared to Xavier?" Sterling was already in front of her.
"I..." Just as Grace opened her mouth, footsteps sounded from behind.
Sterling looked up, not surprised to see Xavier.
This was Xavier's turf, after all. Sterling could clear out others, but not Xavier.
Even so, Sterling could still irritate him, especially since he now had Xavier's vulnerabilities in his hands.
"Mr. Montgomery, why is it that every time I have a date with Grace, you show up?" Sterling emphasized the word "date."
Grace had her back to the door. Hearing Xavier's name, she trembled slightly.
Sterling continued, "Could it be that you are secretly following us? Do you really have such a fetish?"
Xavier approached directly. "My place, my rules."
"Yeah, I know. But Grace, we might need to find another spot for our dates." Sterling mocked, giving Grace a playful glance.
"Why change places? I think this place is just fine." Grace suddenly didn't want to avoid Xavier anymore. She couldn't avoid seeing him forever. If she kept hiding, it wouldn't work.
The best idea Grace thought was to face Xavier openly.
Sterling's eyes flashed with admiration and he quickly played along. "True, this isn't a private place. If others want to watch, let them."
Grace thought she was here to enjoy the hot springs anyway; although she had a coat on, she was wearing a swimsuit underneath.
Just as she took off her coat and was about to step in, a piece of clothing was draped over her.
Xavier's presence seemed to intensify. As Grace turned around, he grabbed her wrist.
"Come with me." Xavier pulled Grace, leading her out.
He was forceful, and her wrist hurt. "It hurts."
As soon as she spoke, the grip on her wrist loosened significantly.
Grace shook off Xavier's hand and exclaimed, "What are you doing? Let go of me!"
The next second, Xavier wrapped his arm around Grace's waist and lifted her onto his shoulder.
No matter how much Grace struggled on his shoulder, he didn't put her down.
