Chapter 368 Congratulations, Your Baby Is Already Eight Weeks Old.

Grace zipped through her check-up and hung around for the results.

After a bit of waiting, the results were in.

Her stomach was all good, but the other news? It left her speechless.

"Ms. Lewis, congrats, you're eight weeks pregnant," the doctor said with a grin.

Grace was floored.

She was pregnant!

And it was Xavier's baby!

Grace didn't know whether to be thrilled or freaked out. She thought she had been super careful, but here she was, pregnant.

She gently touched her belly. A tiny life was growing inside her, a part of her and Xavier.

A boy or a girl? Will Xavier be happy? She felt utterly unprepared. She was still young, with no idea what to do next.

Seeing Grace's stunned look and that she was alone, the doctor suggested, "It's still early. If you and the father aren't ready, you need to make a decision soon. If you choose to keep the baby, you should begin prenatal care immediately. It would be ideal if the father could accompany you next time. I'll prescribe some vitamins. And avoid cosmetics during your pregnancy."

"Okay, thanks, doc." Grace took the report.

Leaving the obstetrics department, Grace still couldn't believe she was going to be a mom!

Even though her career was just taking off and the future was uncertain, Grace wanted to keep the baby.

She wanted to tell Xavier ASAP but wasn't sure how he'd react.

Steven and Scott were waiting downstairs. Grace decided she'd call Xavier that evening to break the news.

When she got to the testing area, Steven and Scott looked at her with concern, "You okay?"

Grace nodded, "Yeah, just a bit of indigestion."

She wasn't sure about her connection with Steven. The odds of them being related seemed slim. She hadn't even told Xavier about the baby, let alone anyone else.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Steven asked again.

Grace nodded, "Are the results out yet?"

Scott shook his head, "Not yet."

They were all on edge. Steven and Scott kept glancing at Grace.

They weren't much older than her and remembered their aunt Elizabeth from when they were kids. Elizabeth was drop-dead gorgeous, unforgettable. Even now, they could picture her. She was the most beautiful woman they'd ever seen.

Especially her eyes, they could give you chills. Elizabeth was both stunning and kind.

"Your eyes really remind me of Aunt Elizabeth's," Steven said.

Grace was curious about how much she looked like Elizabeth for everyone to say so.

But soon, they'd have the results.

Grace said, "I'm really curious about how beautiful your aunt was."

To Grace, Elizabeth was already a legend.

Scott said proudly, "She was just incredibly beautiful, flawless."

Actually, Grace was pretty stunning too, especially her eyes, which were a lot like Elizabeth's.

As they chatted, the test results came in. Steven's hands shook a bit as he grabbed the report.

They all held their breath, too scared to look.

Finally, Steven flipped to the last page.

The DNA results were a no-go—they weren't related.

Grace felt a weird, uncomfortable feeling, like something was stuck in her chest.

She didn't want to force her way into a rich family. But when she met Steven, Scott, and Chase, she felt an odd sense of closeness.

Sure, she had Zach as a relative, but he was worse than a stranger. She still wanted to uncover the secrets about Evelyn. She thought Evelyn might be connected to the Coleman family, but now it seemed she was way off.

So, the mystery about Evelyn was back to square one.

"Sorry, I'm not who you're looking for," Grace said, lowering her eyes.

Steven felt bummed out too. He thought they had a shot, but Grace wasn't the one.

Over the years, they'd ruled out so many women. Grace was the closest match.

"Sorry for wasting your time. We'll take you back," Steven said.

But then Steven got a call, something urgent. He told Scott to take Grace back.

"No need, I can get back myself," Grace didn't want to be a bother.

Scott smiled, "It's no trouble. I'll take you. Besides, I promised Steven. Even though you're not Aunt Elizabeth's kid, you're not as annoying as other women, so I'll take you."

Getting Scott's approval was a big deal. He had a serious issue with women, a real phobia. He thought they all had hidden agendas.

As a child, he'd been subjected to unwanted hugs and kisses from countless women, their lipstick smears a constant reminder of their insincerity.

At fourteen, he was drugged with an aphrodisiac, and several naked women were put in his room to seduce him. That experience scarred him. He escaped by jumping out of a second-floor window, breaking a bone.

Later, the constant stream of women vying for his attention, attempting to manipulate him, had solidified his distrust and disgust. He was hypersensitive to any hint of an ulterior motive.

Although he initially thought Grace had an agenda when she bumped into Steven, he later found her to be pretty cool.

"Thanks," Grace didn't refuse. She had come in Steven's car, otherwise, she'd have to grab a cab.

The Coleman family's cars were all limos. The private driver wasn't there, so Scott was driving.

Soon, they arrived at Grace's apartment building. Grace got out and, out of politeness, invited Scott, "Thanks for the ride, Scott. Would you like to come up for coffee?"Scott smiled, "No, you go ahead."

Grace then entered the elevator, and Scott started to back up the car to leave.

Just as he was reversing, there was a sudden crash.

A car had come up behind him, and they collided.

Scott got out, and the other driver did too. When Scott saw her, he squinted, "It's you!"

Angela, annoyed at the careless driver, was unsurprised to see Scott. "If you can't drive," she snapped, "get off the road!"
