Chapter 480 Speaking Ill Behind Someone's Back
"What about me? I'm afraid you'll fall for me!"
After saying that, Angela let go and looked disgusted.
"Don't even think about doing anything to me. Don't you dare dream about me tonight, or I'll have to punch you in your dream for being so narcissistic!"
Angela even waved her fist before heading upstairs.
After Angela left, Scott scoffed. Would he ever like her or dream about her? She really had some nerve.
Scott messaged Grace, saying Angela had been dropped off at home, and then he went back.
In the middle of the night, Scott woke up from a dream, and it turned out he had actually dreamed about that woman Angela!
After Edith got home, she saw the housekeeper still in the kitchen making soup, so she quickly went to help.
"This is for Omari, right? Let me help."
The housekeeper praised her, "Miss Turner, you're so considerate."
Ainsley, who heard this, felt proud because Edith had always been obedient since she was a child.
After stirring the pot, Edith came out of the kitchen and saw Ainsley. She went over and hugged Ainsley from behind.
"Mom, look at how busy Omari is. He hasn't even come home yet. He works so hard."
"Omari just took over the company a year ago, and it's in a growth phase now, so he's very busy."
"Yeah, it's my fault for not being able to help Omari. If I were a boy, I could definitely assist him better."
Ainsley held Edith's hand, "You're my little sweetheart. I'm happy just having you by my side."
"Mom, I also heard that Omari wants to compete for a project but lacks some connections. I had lunch with Jessica today, and she's about to marry the mayor's son. I thought she could help a little, but it might be minimal. I also ran into Angela, and when I greeted her, she was rude to me."
"Edith, you're the best. You care about Omari and the family and try to find ways to help. Unlike Angela, who doesn't even bother to check in!"
Ainsley didn't like Angela at all.
She had tried to like her, but Angela was rebellious and always went against her, so she didn't like this daughter.
"Mom, I heard from Jessica that her fiancé has a friend who is even more powerful than the mayor. Maybe he could help Omari."
"Really?"
Ainsley knew Omari had been overwhelmed with a project lately.
If they could really get help, that would be great.
Edith nodded and continued, "But that person is in his thirties and has a son. He seems to want to find someone to marry quickly to take care of his child. Mom, I really want to help Omari, but I also want to stay by your side."
Ainsley asked, "Is that person very powerful?"
Edith nodded, "Yes, even higher in rank than Jessica's fiancé."
"I see. Angela's poor boyfriend is useless anyway. If this can help Omari, I'll contact him and see."
"Mom, isn't it bad to send Angela? Omari would be furious if he found out."
"You and Omari are both kind-hearted. Angela is also a Turner, and she should listen to me. She's been wild for over twenty years; it's time for her to settle down and get married!" Ainsley said coldly.
"But Mom..."
"Don't worry about this. I'll handle it."
"Okay, Mom." Edith smiled secretly. This was exactly the outcome she wanted.
Angela had been extremely busy these past few days, but she still received a call from Ainsley.
Ainsley said she was sick and in the hospital, asking Angela to visit her.
Angela wasn't sure if it was true. How could she suddenly be sick?
She called Omari and found out that Ainsley was indeed sick.
So Angela put her work aside and rushed to the hospital.
Even though she disliked Ainsley, she was still her mother, and there was a bit of familial affection.
When Angela arrived at the hospital, she found that there were other people there.
"I'll come back later," Angela said, holding flowers and turning to leave.
"No, come in!" Ainsley looked quite healthy and didn't seem very sick.
"This is Zander Ross. He came to see me," Ainsley introduced. "This is my daughter. She runs her studio."
Angela felt uncomfortable with this introduction. "What are you doing, setting me up?"
Ainsley was speechless. Zander was the person Edith had mentioned.
Ainsley's smile stiffened for a moment, then she forced a smile again. "Mr. Ross is a guest. Watch your mouth."
Zander was about to leave, but Ainsley said, "Please help me see him out. I'm not feeling well enough to get up."
Angela found it boring. Did her mom think she didn't understand her intentions?
Angela walked outside. "I'll see you out."
Zander nodded and walked out with Angela. "Ms. Turner, you're even more beautiful than in the photos. Let's get to know each other."
His words were straightforward enough. Angela said, "Sorry, I wasn't aware of this. I'm not planning to get married right now. Sorry for wasting your time."
Zander was indeed unhappy. What was the Turner family playing at? He had taken time out of his busy schedule, only to be played with!
"No problem. We can still get to know each other. I have good qualifications, and I'm quite satisfied with you in person." His family background and job were his strengths.
Zander introduced himself and then said, "Although I've been divorced, I treat my wife very well. Once we're married, you won't need to work. Just take care of my son, and I can also help your brother with his project."
Angela didn't expect the Turner family to find her a nanny job.
"Sorry, I don't like taking care of children."
"My child is very well-behaved, and I can give you a lot of pocket money every month."
"I can make my own money. Why would I spend someone else's? We're really not suitable, and my mom probably didn't tell you, but I have a boyfriend."
"What?" Zander was surprised. He hadn't heard that.
At that moment, Angela's phone rang.
Angela glanced at it and saw it was Scott.
"Hello, honey."
Scott was silent.
Angela called him honey again!
"Angela, you left something in my car," Scott called Angela because he found a bracelet in his car, which must have been left by Angela that day.
"I'll be back soon, don't worry. What? Would you like to come pick me up? No need, I know you can't live without me, but you don't have to be so clingy."
Scott said, "What?"
Angela must be doing this on purpose. She would definitely say she was acting again!
How could it be so coincidental that she was always acting?
