Chapter 503 My Best Friend Became My Brother's Wife
Grace blinked and picked up the marriage certificate, looking at it over and over again to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
It was indeed Angela and Scott. Her best friend Angela had become her brother's wife!
She had always wanted to set up Angela and Scott, and they really gave her a big surprise.
"Angela, what's going on? How did you two end up together?" Grace was eager to know how Angela managed to convince Scott.
Among her three brothers, Grace thought Scott was the least likely to get married.
After all, Scott's aversion to women was quite obvious.
She never expected that Scott would be the first to get married, even before her.
Angela said, "It's a long story. I'll explain it to you slowly later."
Chase was overjoyed: "Great, I have a granddaughter-in-law now. I'm so happy. I need to tell your brothers about this quickly."
Chase started making phone calls, not only informing Steven and the others but also calling his good friends.
"What? How did you know my grandson got married?"
"Of course, the wedding is being planned right away. Remember to come to the wedding and have a few drinks."
"Fake? How could it be fake? You're just jealous. I won't invite you then!"
Chase was busy notifying others and insisted on celebrating properly, saying the wedding must be well-organized.
"Angela, did you have some leverage over Scott?" Grace glanced at Scott.
"Sort of. Because of your grandfather, I was in a hurry to get married, and your grandfather was also pressuring me to get married. We both agreed to it for our reasons. Don't worry, there's no love between us, it's just mutual use. We even have an agreement to divorce in a year!"
Grace was surprised: "You two have a lot going on, but maybe you'll fall in love after marriage and won't get divorced."
"Grace, you've been reading too many novels. With Scott's personality, it would be strange if we could get along."
Grace said, "Have you considered that since you're married, Grandpa will definitely want you to live together and keep an eye on you every day?"
Angela was stunned. She hadn't thought that far. Angela said, "No way, right?"
"I don't know, I was just saying."
"There's no time to think about it now. We're already married. For me, it's a relief. I want to see how the Turner family can force me to marry now. Bigamy is illegal. If I get divorced, it would be a second marriage, and the Ross family might not want a woman who's been married twice."
Grace didn't expect that Angela would use the method she didn't use against the Montgomery family.
"Angela, congratulations!"
"Congratulations for what?"
"Of course, congratulations on your wedding!"
"You know my wedding is fake, but I'm still quite happy."
At least the Turner family wouldn't be able to control her so easily.
They laughed together, not knowing if this arrangement by fate was a good thing or a bad thing.
Chase was very happy but felt it was not proper: "Angela, the Coleman family has always valued etiquette. Do your parents know about this? I need to visit them. Don't worry about money, your parents can ask for anything."
Angela said, "Mr. Coleman, you don't need to trouble yourself. My parents are problematic. I make my own life choices, so there is no need to bother with them."
"That's not right." Chase felt it was inappropriate.
Angela said, "Maybe later. I just registered the marriage with Scott. We haven't reached that stage yet."
"Registering the marriage is a big deal. It's Scott's fault for not being proper. I'll teach him a lesson. Tonight is your wedding night, so I'll stay with Grace and not disturb you."
"Mr. Coleman, you misunderstood..."
"Why are you still calling me Mr. Coleman? You should call me Grandpa with Scott."
"Okay, you and Scott can stay together tonight. I'll go back first."
Chase said, "That's not right. The house is big, you two can share a room. I'll stay here too."
Chase was worried that if he left, Angela might leave too.
He was still waiting to see Scott's child born!
"Grandpa, isn't that inappropriate?" Angela couldn't imagine sharing a room with Scott.
"What's inappropriate? You're married now, so that's how it will be."
Grace weakly said from the side, "Grandpa, I'll leave first."
She didn't want to get involved in this.
"Okay, I'll arrange for someone to take you."
"No need, someone is picking me up!"
Grace ran quickly. After leaving the Coleman Mansion, she saw a car parked at the entrance and ran towards it.
"Xavier, you won't believe it, Angela and Scott registered their marriage!" Grace shared in amazement.
Xavier said, "Really?"
"Of course, they were really fast." Grace marveled.
Xavier opened the passenger door and squeezed Grace's hand: "So when are we getting married?"
"I'm not ready yet!" Grace didn't know what she needed to prepare, but marriage seemed distant.
Xavier didn't push her. He wasn't in a hurry; he hadn't even proposed yet.
He didn't know when Grace would have time. He hadn't taken her out to sea yet.
Xavier paused when getting out of the car, looked in a direction for a few seconds, and then got back in.
Grace noticed and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
At that moment, Xavier felt like someone was watching them.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Xavier picked up his phone and asked someone to investigate who it was.
He wouldn't allow any potential danger. But he was sure it wasn't the Montgomery family.
The Montgomery family had fallen, the company was just an empty shell, the stock had plummeted, Patrick was still in the hospital, and Ryan was drinking every day and doing nothing. Xavier had people watching him.
He also had people watching Daniel, but he didn't know who else might be following them.
But no matter who it was, he wouldn't allow anyone to harm Grace.
Xavier drove away, and in a nearby corner, Jared was wearing a hat. He pressed down the brim and watched them leave.
Grace had indeed reunited with the Coleman family. Things seemed to be getting worse. Could Elizabeth's matter really be uncovered?
His eyes held a storm. He wouldn't allow any mistakes!
