Chapter 134 Stephanie Set Her Sights on Grace
Grace didn't expect her intentions to be so easily uncovered. She was indeed curious to know if Xavier was around.
Fortunately, Angela chimed in, "Did Mr. Montgomery come too?"
Victor replied, "No, he's very busy and couldn't find the time to join us."
Hearing the word 'no,' Grace felt a bit relieved. Thankfully, Xavier didn't come.
"Why, Grace, are you happy that Xavier didn't come?" Victor observed Grace's expression.
'Did she make it that obvious?' Grace thought as she touched the corner of her mouth to make sure she hadn't smiled just now.
Grace replied, "No, I'm really disappointed he didn't come."
Victor teased, "Then I'll call Xavier right now and ask him to come over."
Grace quickly stopped him. "No need, Mr. Montgomery is very busy; let's not disturb him."
Grace had been in contact with Xavier too often recently. She felt they should keep some distance and not meet so frequently.
Omari, standing nearby, seemed a bit unhappy, especially when Victor called Grace by her first name so smoothly.
"Grace, are you and Mr. Hastings that close?" Omari's voice broke in.
Victor replied, "Not really."
"Grace, since you're here, how about I take you for a spin?" Omari's eyes were fixed on Grace's face.
"Mr. Turner, Angela is still here. Why not take your sister for a ride instead? Grace, I'm a better driver; why don't you ride with me?" Victor deliberately contradicted Omari.
Despite Victor and Omari having some acquaintance, it was only superficial. Recognizing Omari's ulterior motives, Victor felt compelled to protect Xavier's partner, even in Xavier's absence.
Their eyes were all on Grace, seemingly wanting her to choose one of them.
Under immense pressure, Grace said, "Mr. Turner, Mr. Hastings, why don't you two go have fun? I'll pass."
She didn't want to ride in either of their cars. If possible, Grace wanted to drive herself.
"Come on, you and Angela are such good friends; you can ride with me," Omari insisted.
Angela said, "Omari, you go ahead. Grace and I will come later."
With Angela's words, Omari finally nodded.
"Then I'll go too. Grace, feel free to call me if you need anything," Victor said, itching to race as he hadn't done so in a while.
"Mr. Turner, how about a race?" Victor suggested.
Omari agreed, "Sure."
Victor and Omari left with smiles, and Victor immediately picked up his phone to message Xavier.
Angela pulled Grace along. "Grace, let's get a car and have some fun, or it'll be a wasted trip."
"Alright." Grace was also eager to have some fun.
Just as they were about to go pick a car, Jessica blocked Grace's path as she glared at Grace viciously and raised her hand, aiming to slap Grace's face.
Grace, quick on her feet, caught Jessica's hand.
"Jessica, are you crazy?" Angela started cursing after recognizing the identity.
"Grace, was it you?" Jessica said, "If you like Xavier too, then compete with me fairly. Stop doing things behind my back!"
Grace furrowed her brows. "I don't like Xavier, and I don't understand what you're talking about. I'm busy every day, unlike you. I don't have time to deal with you. Please don't blame everything on me."
"If it's not you, then who else could it be?" Jessica had never felt so aggrieved in her life.
But Jessica didn't dare to anger Grace; she was afraid Grace would really release the photos. If others saw them, how could she continue to be the top socialite in Skigeth? She'd become the biggest joke in Skigeth.
Grace asked, "So, what happened that makes you think I did it?"
Of course, Jessica couldn't reveal that she had been photographed naked. It might be a scheme that Grace was asking on purpose to lure her into saying it.
Edith had said Grace was very cunning, but Jessica hadn't believed it at first.
Grace was a truly actor, pretending as if nothing had happened. Jessica almost fell for it. If Grace didn't do it, then who else could it be?
Jessica had always been very cautious. As a socialite, most people were willing to be friends with her, and no one dared to offend her. Only Grace constantly opposed her and even threatened her over Xavier. The only person she could think of was Grace.
"Grace, it doesn't matter if you don't admit it." Jessica had her ways to deal with Grace!
Angela stood next to Grace. "What did she mean by that? When did you offend her?"
Grace shook her head. "I don't know."
Grace didn't think she had any grudges with Jessica, and Jessica's hostility seemed very inexplicable. And Jessica mentioned she did something bad, but Grace had no idea what had happened.
"Be careful. Jessica is usually very arrogant. She approached you on purpose to get close to Xavier, and you rejected her. Given her personality, she would definitely hold a grudge. She's here today; she might do something to you. Grace, we need to be cautious," Angela suggested.
"I will be careful!"
"Don't worry, I'm here to protect you," Angela patted her chest.
"You should be careful too. Jessica doesn't like me, and being close to me might drag you into this." Grace felt it was fine if something happened to her, but if Angela got into trouble because of her, she would feel very guilty.
"Don't worry, Grace. I can protect myself. Forget about her. Let's go pick a car."
"Alright."
Neither of them noticed that in the VIP section, a meticulously dressed and beautiful woman was watching everything.
Stephanie's gaze fell on Grace. "That woman, is she Ryan's fiancée?"
The person next to her immediately replied, "Yes, Miss. She is Grace."
"Did Jessica just say that Grace also likes Xavier?" A hint of malice flashed in Stephanie's eyes.
"Ms. Park, Mr. Montgomery surely wouldn't be interested in her, and she is also Ryan's future wife."
Grace was indeed quite ordinary-looking, so Stephanie didn't feel threatened. Considering they would be family in the future, she could temporarily refrain from doing anything to Grace.
"Will Ryan be here today?" Stephanie asked.
The person next to her said, "He's already here, but he brought a woman named Kelly Simmons."
Stephanie chuckled lightly. There were so many drams in Skigeth; no wonder Xavier didn't want to return to Oakworth.
Grace had a feeling someone was watching her, but when she looked around, she didn't see anyone suspicious. It might be all her imaginations.
