Chapter 499 Angela is Missing
"I won't get married, and you still want to force me. Is there really no law and justice in this world? What you're doing is no different from selling your daughter!"
"How much have you cared for me over the years? How much have you loved me? What gives you the right to make decisions for me and control my life?" Angela started arguing directly with Ainsley.
Edith, on the side, added fuel to the fire, "Angela, why don't you understand Mom's good intentions? She's doing this for your good. Would she ever harm you?"
Ainsley, hearing Edith's words, became even more annoyed with Angela.
"Someone, lock her up and keep a close watch on her. Don't let her out until her wedding!"
"What do you mean by this? Are you trying to detain me illegally?"
Ainsley was very cold, "How can it be called detention when it's your own family? You're just coming home. When you come to your senses and it's time for the wedding, then you can come out."
The Turner family's servants stepped forward, took Angela's phone, and escorted her back to her room.
Angela banged on the door, "Let me out, let me out!"
Ainsley didn't soften at all. Even hearing Angela's shouting, she wasn't moved. In her eyes, Angela was just disobedient and unfilial.
Edith was pleased, wondering what Angela would do now!
Angela was locked in her room, and the door was locked. This was the third floor, so there was no way to jump out. Besides, security guards were patrolling outside. Even if she jumped, they would know immediately.
She really hated the Turner family. Why did they have to bind her under such a name? Why did they have to force her in this way?
She didn't want to get married, especially not to someone like Zander.
She would never follow their arrangements. She always believed that her fate was in her own hands, and she would find a way to escape.
Chase kept asking Scott to find Angela, saying he couldn't eat or sleep well without her. Scott knew Chase was doing it on purpose, but Angela had indeed been out of contact for two days.
Scott called Angela, but no one answered.
He called several times, but her phone was off.
Scott frowned. Why was Angela's phone off?
Scott also called Grace, "Grace, can you reach Angela?"
"Angela?" Grace hadn't noticed recently; she had been very busy herself.
Grace said, "I'll call her."
"I already did. It's off."
"I see. I'll go check her studio."
Grace went to Angela's studio but didn't see her. The studio staff said they hadn't seen Angela since yesterday. Some work needed her attention, but she hadn't responded to messages.
Grace started to worry. Could something have happened to Angela?
Grace then went to Angela's house and found no one there either. She was sure something had happened to Angela.
She called Omari, who answered quickly, sounding surprised, "Angela, I didn't expect you to call me."
Grace's voice was urgent, "Omari, have you seen Angela in the past two days?"
"No, I've been busy with work and haven't been home. What's wrong with Angela?"
"She's out of contact, and I'm looking for her."
"I'll help you look." Omari immediately put down his work.
What could have happened to Angela? Recently, only the Turner family had been forcing her to get married. Angela didn't want to. Who knew if the Turner family had done something? Grace decided to go to the Turner Mansion.
Grace told Scott, and he immediately said, "I'll go with you."
"Scott, why are you so eager?"
Scott looked awkward, "If something happens to Angela, Grandpa will definitely scold me. It's not because of Angela; it's because of Grandpa."
Grace said, "Alright, let's go together!"
Grace and Scott drove straight to the Turner Mansion. At the gate, they were stopped.
Grace brought gifts, "We're here to visit Mr. Turner."
"What's your name?" the security asked.
"Grace."
The security guard made a call to inquire about the situation and soon returned.
"Sorry, Mr. Turner is not home."
"Mrs. Turner should be home. We're here to visit Mrs. Turner."
"Sorry, Mrs. Turner is also not home." It was clearly a refusal. Grace thought it was impossible that they weren't home; Ainsley didn't want to see her.
Grace called Omari and handed the phone to the security. The security, looking a bit troubled, said, "Mr. Turner, Mrs. Turner said not to let them in and to send them away."
"Let them in," Omari ordered. After all, Omari was the future head of the family.
The security weighed his options and decided to let Grace and Scott in.
Grace went straight into the Turner Mansion. Ainsley, seeing Grace, was a bit flustered, "How did you get in? I told them not to let you in!"
"Where's Angela?" Grace's eyes were cold. Seeing Ainsley's reaction, she knew it had something to do with her.
"How would I know where she is? Who do you think you are, barging into the Turner Mansion? And you, you poor thing, have you ever seen a house as nice as ours? Angela is a Turner who was raised in luxury. Do you think you're worthy of her?"
Ainsley's eyes were full of disdain. She continued to scold, "You're just dreaming. You want to be with her for the Turner's money. Let me tell you, Angela won't get a single dollar from us!"
Grace was furious hearing this, "I don't know what misunderstanding you have about my brother, but you know very well what you think of Angela. You're forcing her to get married not for her happiness but to gain benefits, right?"
"She's your daughter, the child you carried and gave birth to. How can you be so cruel to her?" Grace couldn't understand.
She was a mother now and knew what it felt like to have a child. How could Ainsley be so cold to Angela?
"How am I being cruel to her? She's the ungrateful one, has such a stubborn temper, and is always making us angry. If she were half as good as Edith, I'd be at ease." Ainsley mocked, thinking Angela was inferior to Edith.
Grace laughed coldly, "You don't understand her at all. Angela has achieved so much on her own without relying on you. She should be your pride, not someone you despise. But you wouldn't understand. Where is Angela now? Otherwise, I'll call the police!"
"Get out, get out!" Ainsley tried to push Grace, but Scott pulled Grace away.
"There's no need to waste words with her. I'll give you one chance. Where is Angela?" Scott, usually indifferent, was now serious, exuding a powerful and intimidating aura.
The Coleman family members were never ordinary people.
