Chapter 393 Grace Reunites With the Coleman Family
"Mr. Coleman, you okay? Don't get worked up," Grace said, trying to calm Chase down, not sure why he was so upset.
"Elizabeth, that's Elizabeth's!" Chase shouted, repeating her name over and over.
Grace looked at Scott, totally confused. "What's he talking about?"
Scott was just as shocked, wondering why Grace had that crystal. He remembered Patrick saying they found it with Wendy.
They had seen a crystal like that before, but the one Grace had looked almost identical.
"Grace, where'd you get that crystal?" Scott asked, sounding urgent.
Grace was puzzled. "The one in my bag? It was my mom's, but I only got it back recently."
"Can you show it to us?" Scott pressed.
"Sure." Grace helped Chase sit on the sofa and then pulled out the crystal.
Handing it to Chase, she asked, "Grandpa, do you recognize this?"
Grace only knew the crystal was Evelyn's and could be traded for a big treasure.
"This is Elizabeth's, Elizabeth's!" Chase's hands shook as he held the crystal, tears filling his eyes.
"What?" Grace stared at Chase, feeling like she'd been hit by lightning.
To her, this crystal was Evelyn's, not Elizabeth's.
Scott asked, "Grace, are you sure this was your mom's?"
Grace nodded. "Yeah, I've seen it with her since I was a kid. But after she died, Patrick took it. I just got it back recently."
"What did you say? Patrick? He's been lying to us!" Scott said, gritting his teeth.
Scott realized why Patrick wouldn't give them the crystal or let them take Wendy to Country E; it was all a trick.
Patrick had the crystal, so they couldn't compare it, but Chase should recognize it.
Grace was stunned. If this crystal was really Elizabeth's, then her mom must be Elizabeth.
"But we did a test before, and I'm not related to your family," Grace added.
"The test could've been faked by Patrick if he wanted to deceive us from the start!" Scott explained.
Chase was already crying, clutching the crystal tightly. "This crystal is the Coleman family heirloom, passed down through generations. I gave it to Elizabeth when she was born. I wouldn't mistake it!"
Scott added, "Grace, your eyes really look like Elizabeth's, and this crystal is definitely hers."
Overwhelmed by all the evidence and coincidences, Grace started to believe she might be part of the Coleman family.
"If that's true, there's something else I need to tell you," Grace said.
"What?" Scott asked.
"Excuse me a moment. I need to use the restroom."
While washing her face, Grace's hands trembled. Could the Coleman family really be her family? Could Evelyn really be Elizabeth?
It felt like a dream. Her face looked like Evelyn's, but she didn't know what Elizabeth looked like or if her original appearance resembled Elizabeth.
If she really was a Coleman, then life had played a huge joke on her.
Grace splashed some water on her face and took a deep breath. When she came out, her palms were sweaty, and she was super nervous.
But Chase and Scott were just standing there, totally stunned.
"Elizabeth!" Chase breathed, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Aunt!" Scott exclaimed.
Chase was so excited he almost tripped running towards Grace. "Elizabeth, my Elizabeth!" He couldn't hold back anymore. He grabbed Grace's face, tears streaming down.
After all these years, he had finally found his 'Elizabeth'!
Chase's reaction said it all.
Her face looked just like Evelyn's, and Evelyn was Elizabeth!
"Grace, what the heck is going on? You look exactly like Auntie. You must be her daughter!" Scott said, almost speechless with shock.
"I look a lot like my mom. She always disguised her appearance. When I was really young, she taught me how to do makeup and hide my looks, not to stand out," Grace explained.
Grace had kept her true appearance hidden until now. Even though many people had seen her, the previous test showed they weren't related, so she thought there was no need to mention it.
"Where is Aunt Elizabeth now?" Scott asked.
"She passed away years ago. Patrick even used her ashes to threaten me. I only got half of her ashes back; the other half is with Kelly," Grace replied.
Scott fell silent. They had searched for Elizabeth for so many years, only to find out she was no longer alive.
When Elizabeth left, Scott was very young. In his memory, Elizabeth was a remarkable and mysterious woman. He didn't know what she did outside.
He only knew that Elizabeth returned home covered in scars and then suddenly disappeared. He never saw her again.
It was only from the medications Elizabeth brought home that they learned she was pregnant.
They didn't know whose child it was.
Chase was even more heartbroken. Elizabeth was his beloved daughter.
Family ties can be so mysterious. From the moment Chase saw Grace, he felt she was his Elizabeth.
Scott snapped out of it. "I need to tell Steven and Thomas about this right away. Before Patrick tricks them again. The first DNA test…he must have tampered with the results, bribed someone at the hospital. And when they tested Wendy, he probably switched the samples. Even our meeting Wendy at the airport…it could have been staged. That bastard!"
Scott now understood everything; this Patrick was truly despicable!
Scott quickly informed Steven, who was already at the Montgomery Mansion.
Steven answered the phone with initial delight upon learning that Grace was indeed the sister they had been searching for. However, his expression darkened immediately when he realized that Patrick had deceived him.
Steven immediately led a group of individuals into the Montgomery Mansion. The Montgomery family couldn't stop them.
Kieran had met Steven before and asked, "Mr. Coleman, what are you doing here?"
Steven had brought a large group, including experts for testing, some carrying equipment, and several bodyguards, looking very imposing.
