Chapter 450 So Nervous, Hiding a Man at Home?

Country E, Jared hurried back and then found an excuse to go to the Coleman Manor.

"Uncle Chase, I've been quite busy lately and haven't had a chance to visit you. How have you been?" Jared asked, bringing gifts to see Chase.

Chase nodded, "I'm fine."

"That's good. I see the house has been quite lively lately. Is there something to celebrate?" Jared asked tentatively.

Chase glanced at Jared, "Isn't it normal for the holidays to be lively?"

Chase didn't really like Jared. Although their families were close, Elizabeth had a good relationship with Jared before she disappeared. When Jared claimed to know nothing about her disappearance, Chase beat him up.

Over the years, Chase still didn't like Jared because seeing him reminded him of Elizabeth.

Moreover, it was very likely that the child Elizabeth was carrying at the time was Jared's.

If Jared couldn't even protect Elizabeth, he was useless, and the Coleman family never kept useless men.

"Indeed," Jared said nothing more, but he noticed that there were no other people around the house.

He had heard some rumors and thought the Coleman family might have found Elizabeth's child.

"Do you have any other business?" Chase was already starting to show him the door.

He had no intention of telling Jared about finding Grace. Even if Grace were Jared's child, he wouldn't let her acknowledge Jared as her father.

Jared understood Chase's meaning and stood up, "Then, Uncle Chase, I'll visit you another time."

Jared quickly left, but after leaving the Coleman Manor, his expression changed.

His eyes were dark and uncertain. He had investigated Grace and found no issues. Could the Coleman family really have found Elizabeth's child?

Jared found another opportunity to meet with Jane.

Jane said, "I don't have much time."

"Is there anything unusual about him?" Jared's eyes were sharp and filled with murderous intent.

"Doesn't seem like it, but you know his identity is special. Even I might not see him for days."

"His memory of that time shouldn't come back. The hypnotist was very skilled. As long as he doesn't see the most significant things in his mind, he almost certainly won't remember. You've cleaned up all of Elizabeth's things over the years, right?"

"Yes," Jane nodded, her eyes filled with hatred at the mention of Elizabeth.

"Then there's nothing to worry about. Keep an eye on things. The Coleman family probably hasn't found anything, either. We've been searching for years and haven't found any clues."

Jane responded faintly, but she still felt uneasy.

Life had been too calm lately, like the calm before a storm.

The secrets she carried could never be revealed, or else...

Xavier continued to . Even if Grace changed the locks, he found a way to open them.

Grace suspected that Xavier might own the lock company; otherwise, how could he be so capable?

After a few days of hard practice in cooking, Xavier's food was getting better and better.

Grace went from not eating at all to thinking it was okay to eat.

Seeing Grace eat the food he made, Xavier felt good. He used to not understand why people spent time cooking or the saying that to capture someone's heart, you must first capture their taste. Now, Xavier seemed to understand; it made sense.

Watching Grace eat his food heartily really improved his mood.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Grace was eating and didn't know who was outside. Scott or Angela?

A voice came from outside, "Grace, are you awake? I'm coming in."

Angela had Grace's password. Hearing no response, she opened the door directly.

Grace stood up nervously and pushed Xavier, "Go find a place to hide. Angela can't see you!"

"Why? Am I not presentable?"

Grace didn't want to cause any misunderstandings or trouble. With Angela's temper, if she saw Xavier, she would definitely argue or fight with him to avenge Grace.

"Just go!" Grace pushed Xavier into the bedroom.

Closing the bedroom door, Grace came out just as Angela opened the front door.

"Grace, did you sleep well last night?"

"Pretty well. Angela, why are you here?"

Angela said, "It's the weekend. I wanted to take you out to have some fun. The weather is nice, perfect for a picnic."

"Sure," Grace agreed.

Angela chatted as she walked to the dining table, "I brought you breakfast. You're eating so well! Did you make this yourself?"

Grace mumbled, "Sort of."

She couldn't say Xavier made it, could she?

"Then why is there another set of utensils?" Angela noticed the opposite side of the table.

Grace's mind raced between saying it was from yesterday or that Scott ate it, and she chose the latter.

"Scott ate it."

"Where is Scott?"

"He left after eating."

Angela nodded and continued to nag, "You shouldn't be doing this now. If you want breakfast, you can call me. I'll come and make it for you in the morning."

"No need. It's just breakfast, and the weather is still cold. You should sleep a bit more."

"Sleeping a bit more doesn't help much. But since you already have breakfast, I guess I brought mine for nothing. I'll take it out and eat with you."

"I'll get you some utensils!" Grace went to the kitchen to get a new set of utensils.

She and Angela ate breakfast together. Angela looked at Grace, "Grace, why do you seem a bit nervous?"

"Do I? I don't think so."

"You do. Are you hiding something from me, or are you hiding a man in your house?" Angela said casually.

"How could that be! You're overthinking." Grace shook her head.

Then she gave Angela some breakfast, "Eat up. Didn't you say we were going out?"

Angela said, "I can't eat anymore, but it does taste good."

Saying that, Angela ate a bit more.

After finishing breakfast, Grace planned to go out with Angela. She took out her phone to message Xavier, telling him to come out after they left.

Grace changed her shoes and went out with Angela.

Angela looked at her, "You're wearing so little. Wait a moment; I'll get you another coat."

Saying that, Angela ran towards Grace's room.

Grace hurriedly tried to stop her, "Angela, don't."

But Angela had already opened the door to Grace's bedroom.
