Chapter 359 I Miss You

Chase's voice was shaky as he muttered, "Elizabeth, Elizabeth!"

"Grandpa woke up. I gotta go," Thomas said, hanging up the phone and rushing to Chase's side.

"Take it easy, Grandpa," Thomas said, knowing Chase needed to stay calm because of his heart condition.

"I saw Elizabeth. She's still so young, my Elizabeth is still so beautiful," Chase said, trembling as he tried to sit up. "Where's my Elizabeth? Why is she gone? I need to find her!"

"Grandpa, you’re mistaken. You saw someone else. Aunt Elizabeth is over forty now. That lady's in her twenties, can't be Aunt Elizabeth" Thomas tried to comfort him.

"It was Elizabeth, absolutely! How could I mistake my own daughter? My daughter is still in her twenties," Chase insisted.

Thomas pressed his lips together. When Elizabeth left, she was indeed only in her twenties.

"Grandpa, you need to calm down. Steven and Scott are both looking for Aunt Elizabeth right now. Don’t worry, they'll find her and bring her back safely," Thomas reassured him.

Elizabeth had become an obsession for Chase. Thomas didn't know how much longer Chase could wait, but he really hoped that if Elizabeth was still alive, she would come back soon.

Later, Thomas told Steven about Chase's insistence that he had seen Elizabeth. Grace had met them all, and the first time they met, even Steven almost mistook her. Thomas also thought she looked very similar, so when he saw Grace in the hospital room, he was momentarily stunned.

Scott was analyzing beside him, "Steven, do you think there's a real possibility that Aunt Elizabeth returned to the country herself back then, and then something happened, causing her to hide her identity? Could Grace really be our relative?"

Steven's eyes were deep, maintaining his calm, "We've checked Grace's background. She can't be Aunt Elizabeth's daughter, but we haven't done a DNA test. There's indeed a possibility."

Scott continued, "When Grace returns to the country, I'll find a chance to get her DNA tested."

Even though the possibility was slim, they still wanted to give it a try.

After leaving the hospital, Grace couldn't shake the image of the old man from her mind.

For some reason, she felt a bit down, and her heart ached, making it hard to breathe.

Especially when he tightly grabbed her hand, even though he was unwell, he had such strength, as if he was holding onto someone very important, not wanting her to leave.

Even when she returned to the hotel, Grace didn't feel like doing anything and had no appetite. She felt very uncomfortable, which reminded her of her grandparents.

Her grandparents had both passed away, and she only met them when she was a child. Evelyn was born in the countryside, but she didn't have many opportunities to take Grace back.

In Grace's memory, they seemed very distant and didn't particularly like her.

Grace sincerely hoped that Thomas and the others could find the person they were looking for soon.

Elizabeth, what a beautiful name. What kind of person would she be? She must be very beautiful, elegant, and especially intelligent.

From their descriptions, Elizabeth's eyes should be very similar to Grace's. Based on Thomas and the others' appearances, Elizabeth must be a very charming woman. Then, Grace's mind drifted to her mother's image.

Grace shook her head, feeling influenced by their words. How could Evelyn be Elizabeth? She never dreamed of being a lost child from a wealthy family, destined to inherit billions.

Besides, Evelyn had no reason to hide such things from her. She had grandparents, and she had met them.

When Xavier's call came in, Grace was still a bit distracted.

She glanced at her phone. It was only four in the morning back home. Was Xavier up so early?

She quickly answered, "Xavier?"

On the other end, Xavier's familiar voice came through, "Still not asleep?"

Grace replied, "It's still early here. I can't sleep yet."

"Have you eaten?" Xavier asked.

Grace said, "Not yet."

Since coming back, Grace had been lost in thought and wasn't very hungry, so she hadn't eaten yet.

There wasn't much left to do in Aetheria. She planned to go out tomorrow to buy a gift for Xavier and then head back home.

Lily and her friends finally got a chance to go out, so Grace gave them a break, allowing them to enjoy a few more days of leisure.

She planned to return tomorrow night. This place was too far from Vesperia, and the flight took over ten hours.

Thinking about seeing Xavier in a couple of days made Grace a little excited.

Just hearing Xavier's voice made Grace want to fly to his side right now and take a good look at his face.

Xavier was so handsome, she wanted to give him a good teasing!

Xavier said, "I ordered takeout for you; it's at the door."

Grace then got up. "Is it already here?"

Xavier responded, "Yep, open the door."

"Okay." Grace went to open the door.

When she opened the door, she was stunned.

"Xavier!" A feeling of surprise washed over her, and her voice was loud, echoing from Xavier's phone.

Seeing Xavier standing in front of her felt like a dream. This was the legendary wish come true. She had just been thinking about his face, and now he was here when she opened the door!

Even though they had only been apart for a few days, Grace felt like she hadn't seen him in ages.

Xavier's face was still as handsome as ever, but he looked a bit tired, as if he was exhausted.

Even though he was so tired, he had secretly crossed the ocean to see her!

He knew she was about to return soon.

"Why are you here?" Her eyes were bright, excitement evident.

Xavier was holding something as he responded with a smile, "Delivering takeout. Someone said she hadn't eaten at this hour, making others worry. So I had to come personally to supervise."

Grace blushed, "I didn't skip meals. Lily and the others always called me for meals. Even if I didn't eat, they packed food for me."

But Grace indeed hadn't had much appetite these past two days. She wasn't used to the diet here; it wasn't as varied or as tasty as back home.

Grace quickly pulled Xavier into her room and took the food from his hands. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I didn't have much to do this evening; I could have picked you up at the airport. I was planning to return tomorrow night anyway, so you didn't have to come."

It was quite a hassle for Xavier to come over, and long flights weren't comfortable. "I couldn't wait."

"What?" Grace exclaimed with a little confusion.

His voice was deep. "If you return tomorrow night, I won't see you until the day after. I couldn't wait that long; I wanted to see you immediately."

He paused a while, got closer to her, and then said, "I missed you."
