Chapter 353 Discovered Some Secrets

Madison trailed behind them, watching as Grace and Jett slipped into a private room. She couldn't follow and her curiosity was eating her up about what they were going to talk about.

Jett was over sixty and had this big-shot status, making it nearly impossible to get close to him.

Even if Madison pulled out all the stops, she wouldn't get a solo meeting with him.

Madison couldn't figure out why Jett treated Grace differently from everyone else.

Was Grace landing this project because of Jett?

Inside the private room, it was just Grace and Jett. They ordered some food, and Jett even had some red wine brought in.

Grace piped up, "Jett, your cholesterol was high before, you shouldn't drink."

Jett laughed and told the waiter to cancel the wine.

Soon, the food arrived, and Grace and Jett started eating and chatting. "Grace, the award ceremony for this competition is coming up. Since you're already in Country E, why not attend and get your award? Every time, I accept it for you. Do you know how many trophies I have piled up? I designed them to be so beautiful. You don't dislike my trophies, do you?"

Grace smiled, "Jett, how could I dislike them? I'll take them all this time, don't be stingy."

Jett replied, "They belong to you, why would I be stingy?"

Grace said, "I still can't attend the award ceremony. So please."

Jett continued, "Alright, but you've been absent so much that people are starting to doubt if Iris is even real. I saw someone speculating last time that you might be an AI."

Grace chuckled, and Jett went on, "I still remember the first time you participated, you didn't leave any info. It took me forever to find you. I thought, who is Iris? So mysterious. Who knew it was a girl who hadn't even started high school."

Grace said, "Speaking of which, I have to thank you. The competition info has improved over the years. If it weren't for you, I might not have been able to participate with my confidential information."

Jett laughed, "I heard you recently started a brand, and it's doing pretty well."

Grace responded, "It's just the beginning."

They chatted a bit more, then Jett said, "There's one more thing, I don't know if you've heard. The princess of Country E said she's been dreaming of a unique fragrance and is searching for it. If anyone can create it, there will be a great reward. I think you should give it a try. The princess described it in detail, you can find it online."

Grace was quite interested and planned to give it a shot. Then, Grace said, "Thanks for telling me."

Jett responded, "You're welcome. I was happy to hear you were signing with that company. You've always been so low-key, I thought your talent was being wasted. Now seeing you have your own brand and developing it with your own strength, it's really impressive."

Jett genuinely liked Grace. From the first time he met her, he thought she was a special girl.

Jett said, "But I'm curious, why didn't you say you were Iris when you created your brand? If people knew it was Iris's brand, it would take off quickly."

Grace smiled and said, "Iris is just my pure, untainted identity for my perfumery hobby. I don't want to mix it with commercial stuff."

Jett nodded, getting where she was coming from.

They wrapped up their meal and strolled out of the restaurant together.

Madison had been lurking outside the whole time. When she saw Grace and Jett coming out, laughing and chatting, she quickly whipped out her phone to record a video.

Grace was signing with the company where Jett was a fragrance consultant. Madison was more convinced than ever that Grace's project wasn't on the up-and-up. Why else would Jett pick Grace over so many others?

Madison didn't think Grace had the chops, but she knew Grace had a tangled history with Xavier. If Xavier was pulling strings to give Grace a little project to keep her happy, that was a different story.

Even if Madison couldn't snag the project herself, she wasn't about to let Grace have it.

Back at the hotel, Grace hopped online and found the princess's description of the dream fragrance.

The description was super vague, like the princess didn't even know what she wanted.

Fragrances were tough to pin down, and creating the perfume the princess wanted wouldn't be a walk in the park. Grace figured she'd need to dig deeper into the princess's dream.

The time difference had Grace wide awake, her fatigue long gone.

Barring any surprises, the contract would be signed the day after tomorrow. After that, she'd stick around for a couple more days before heading home.

Just as she was mulling things over, Xavier's video call popped up, and she quickly answered.

It was 10 PM for Grace, but only 7 AM back home. Xavier was already up.

"How are you feeling?" Xavier's voice came through.

Grace held up her phone, "I'm good. The scenery here is gorgeous, feels like a vacation."

Xavier said, "You should rest now, get some sleep."

Grace responded, "With the time difference, it's already wake-up time for me, I can't sleep."

Xavier continued, "Even if you can't sleep, you should try. Be good."

"I'm already in bed, about to sleep." Grace obediently lay down, placing the phone beside her.

Xavier's voice came through, "Come back soon, and remember to miss me."

Grace buried herself in the blanket. They hadn't been apart for long, but she already missed Xavier a bit.

But she'd be back soon. If everything went smoothly, she might even return two days early.

It all depended on the arrangements. If she could return early, that would be best. Since it wasn't confirmed, Grace didn't tell Xavier.

Xavier wanted Grace to sleep, but Mason's call came through.

Probably because Xavier was on a call, Mason sent a message: [Mr. Montgomery, we found out about the crystal.]

Xavier saw the message and told Grace, "Mason is calling, it might be work-related. I'll take it."

Grace said, "Go ahead, don't worry about me. I'm going to sleep anyway."

Xavier responded softly, "Goodnight."

Grace replied, "Good morning."

Grace hung up, and Xavier called Mason back, "What's the deal with the crystal?"

Mason had been digging for days and finally had some leads.

Mason's tone was serious, "The crystal should have been left by Ms. Lewis's mother. I had someone look into it and discovered some secrets."
