Chapter 323 Use Your Mouth to Thank Me

Outside the restroom, Sterling was chilling against the wall, a sly grin on his face.

Who would've thought Grace had some brains? She even recorded and threatened Kelly.

The noise inside wasn't loud, but Sterling's sharp ears picked up on it.

Sterling muttered, "Guess I just found out another one of Grace's secrets."

Meanwhile, Patrick had wrapped up his statement and was free to go. Feeling the call of nature, he asked for directions and headed over.

As Patrick got closer, he spotted Sterling leaning against the wall, puffing on a cigarette. He tried to walk past but Sterling blocked him with an arm.

"What’s your deal?" Patrick snapped, clearly annoyed.

Sterling replied, "Can't you see I'm smoking? Beat it."

"I just need to use the restroom. I’m not bothering you, am I?" Patrick shot back, confused by Sterling's attitude.

Sterling took a long drag. "When I'm smoking, I don't want anyone within thirty feet."

"Who do you think you are?" Patrick was getting more pissed.

Sterling shrugged, "Before you start mouthing off or making threats, maybe check who you're dealing with first."

Sterling didn't need to finish; Patrick already felt the threat. He glanced at his phone, waiting for his secretary to send over some info.

Growing impatient, Patrick barked, "If you don't get it to me in three minutes, don't bother coming in tomorrow."

The secretary, panicking, quickly sent the info to Patrick.

Seeing Sterling's details, Patrick's eyes widened.

"Mr. Wallace, I didn't know you were in Skigeth. I..."

Sterling cut him off, "Get lost!"

"Okay." Patrick scurried away, clearly shaken.

Inside, Grace heard some commotion outside. She put her phone away, glanced at a pale Kelly, and left the restroom.

When Grace stepped out, the hallway was empty. So what was all that noise about?

By the time Grace left the police station, it was almost evening.

She had an 8 PM flight, meaning she needed to hustle to the airport.

Sterling walked out with Grace. The fact that he could just stroll out after shooting someone said a lot about his clout. Even the cops treated him with respect.

"Ms. Lewis, where you headed? Not gonna treat me to a meal?" Sterling called out as Grace was about to leave.

Grace replied, "Sorry, Mr. Wallace, I’ve got urgent business."

"Come on, I saved your life. Is this how you treat your savior?" Sterling squinted at her.

Grace shot back, "A decent person wouldn’t keep harping on it. I remember your help, and I’ll repay it if I get the chance. But I gotta go now!"

With that, Grace hailed a cab and took off, ignoring Sterling.

Watching her leave, Sterling's grin turned mischievous. Skigeth seemed interesting; he might stick around. No wonder Xavier didn’t want to leave. Grace would be even better if she were a bit prettier.

Once in the cab, Grace called Xavier.

Xavier was about to head to a dinner with the Park Group shareholders.

Xavier asked, "Done with your statement?"

Grace replied, "Yeah, just left the station. I’ll need to cooperate with their investigation later. The guy who tried to kill me is probably James. The Montgomery family will definitely cover for Kelly, but James won’t get away."

Grace spilled her thoughts to Xavier, who just listened without butting in.

Grace could think things through, though sometimes she wasn’t as sharp as Xavier. At least this time, they nailed James. How Kelly would deal with James was her problem.

"Thanks for your help this time," Grace finally said.

Xavier teased, "Is it just lip service?"

Grace replied, "Isn't it enough?"

Xavier's voice came through the phone, "Alright, next time, thank me properly and show some sincerity."

Grace's cheeks turned red instantly. Xavier was being a total flirt!

"I'm done talking to you," Grace quickly hung up.

If she flew over today, would Xavier be too intense? But Grace still headed to the airport. Time was tight; she only had her two boxes.

When Grace showed up at the airport, Xavier knew right away. Even if he wasn’t in Skigeth, he had eyes everywhere.

Mason informed him just as he arrived outside the private room at the restaurant.

"Ms. Lewis probably wants to surprise you. Her flight lands around ten. Should I arrange a car to pick her up?" Mason asked.

"No need," Xavier smirked. "Since she wants to surprise me, let's play along."

Mason nodded, "Got it."

Xavier added, "Sterling's been too idle lately. Find something for him to do and get him out of Skigeth."

Sterling was too much of a wildcard. What if he messed with Grace? Sterling loved causing trouble; he was a real pain sometimes.

"Understood," Mason replied.

"Spread the word about Kelly's involvement in the murder. Make sure the Montgomery family can't clear her name. Let Patrick sweat a bit," Xavier continued.

Xavier wasn’t in a rush to take down the Montgomery family. But he could start by putting some heat on Patrick. The Montgomery family's payback was coming.

"Got it," Mason said, catching Xavier's drift and heading off to handle it.

Xavier got out of the car and, led by a waiter, walked towards the private room.

Inside, nearly all the big shareholders of the Park Group were there, over ten people, including Stephanie.

Unlike the Park Group, DG was almost entirely Xavier's baby, built from the ground up. The Park Group's shares were more spread out, with Joseph being the major shareholder, which led to constant scheming.

Joseph had managed to keep these shareholders in check for years, proving he was a force to be reckoned with.

Xavier was the last to arrive, and as soon as he walked in, everyone stood up. "Mr. Montgomery, please."

The Park Group was a big deal, and these shareholders were all big shots in their own right. But in front of Xavier, they were all respectful.

Stephanie, from the moment Xavier walked in, couldn’t take her eyes off him.

Tonight, Xavier was dressed to the nines. His black suit was perfectly tailored, giving him a composed and commanding presence. His face was so handsome it was almost unfair, with flawless features. Stephanie's heart skipped a beat every time she saw him.

Thinking of her plan, Stephanie got excited. Tonight wasn’t just a dinner; she was determined to win Xavier over and show him she was irresistible.
