Chapter 117 Xavier was Easily Soothed
"Why can't I turn on the light? Are you afraid I'll see you looking guilty?" Xavier asked.
"I'm not guilty, it's just that I'm not dressed, so you can't turn on the light!" Grace hastily made up an excuse.
Not being dressed was a lie; the real reason was that Grace didn't want Xavier to see her face.
In the darkness, Grace heard a hint of mocking laughter from Xavier.
"Not dressed? I've seen every part of you."
Not only had Xavier seen, but he had also touched and kissed.
He knew every detail of Grace, even her various measurements.
Xavier was irritated, so his words now carried a hint of anger.
Grace fell silent, she pulled Xavier's hand back and found another excuse. "You said I invited you out, do you have any evidence?"
"It seems that even now, you still refuse to admit it." Xavier directly took out his phone and opened the message Grace had sent him. "Isn't this your number?"
Grace took it, looking at the message inviting Xavier out, confirming that it was indeed sent from her number.
In fact, when Xavier mentioned the invitation, Grace already had a rough idea of what had happened. The time of the message pointed at when she was at the restaurant.
Grace examined it carefully, unaware that the light from her phone screen was shining on her face, revealing her exquisite features to Xavier.
Seeing Grace's true appearance was rare; even though Xavier wasn't particularly interested in women, every time he saw her face, he couldn't help but admit she was beautiful.
Grace didn't want Xavier to turn on the light, perhaps because she hadn't had time to put on makeup.
At this moment, Grace held her phone in one hand and Xavier's arm in the other.
"It's not like that, I didn't send that message. Jessica and I met this morning, as she tampered with my phone," Grace explained.
Her clear eyes looked up at Xavier as she spoke, her beautiful face blushing from the earlier incident of Xavier grabbing her neck.
"Do you think I should believe you? Jessica said you actively wanted to help her set up a meeting with me." Xavier said.
Grace knew Xavier wouldn't believe her, but she had evidence. "Wait here for me."
"Why?"
"To get evidence, my phone is over there," Grace answered.
"It's so dark in the room, can you find your phone?" Xavier teased Grace, preparing to turn on the light. "I'll turn on the light to help you find it."
Sure enough, Grace became nervous.
"No! You're here, and in my heart, you shine brighter than the sun. With you here, I can see everything ahead!" Grace directly held Xavier's hand, pulling him away to prevent him from turning on the light at that moment, which would have been disastrous!
The stream of compliments continued, although Xavier knew Grace was just talking nonsense, most of his anger dissipated.
Grace's palm was warm, holding his hand, allowing him to feel her warmth. Her hand was small and soft, and Xavier felt like his large hand could envelop hers entirely.
Just then, Grace found her phone nearby.
Grace picked up the phone. "Got it!"
Then she let go of Xavier's hand, leaving him feeling empty both in his hand and in his heart.
His brows furrowed as he looked at Grace.
Grace had already presented the morning's surveillance video. "Look at this."
"Jessica got my phone this morning. It seems she sent the message to you. After I got the surveillance footage, I also went to her, and she said she wanted to get your number from me."
Xavier's gaze shifted from the surveillance to Grace's eyes. Grace bit her lip, making it even redder than before.
"I didn't know Jessica send message to invite you. There's no record on my phone; she probably deleted it after sending." Grace showed her phone to Xavier, clearing up the misunderstanding. "But since you received my message, why didn't you call or message me to confirm?"
Xavier remained silent.
"You didn't really go to the appointment, did you?" Grace blinked her eyes.
"Of course not!" Xavier denied. If Grace knew he had gone, it would make him look foolish.
"Really?" Grace seemed skeptical.
If Xavier had ignored the message, why bother coming to her now? It would have been better to pretend nothing had happened.
But now Xavier was well-dressed, even wearing cologne, indicating he might have gone to the appointment.
However, Xavier, being so shrewd in his actions, why would he go just because of a text message?
Grace couldn't understand; she didn't think she had enough charm to persuade Xavier.
"Are you questioning me?" Xavier said.
"I wouldn't dare." Grace's eyes curved. "Now that everything is explained, shouldn't you calm down?"
The light from the phone screen was still on, illuminating not only Grace's face but also her slender swan-like neck and exquisite collarbones.
She was only wrapped in a towel, yet it made Xavier a bit parched.
Although it wasn't Grace's fault, Xavier felt he should reprimand her!
Xavier's face was stern; though he didn't speak, it seemed he was telling Grace that he was still upset.
"How about I pour you a glass of water?" Grace turned around, intending to pour Xavier a glass of water.
Watching Grace from behind, she wasn't short but rather slim. Her figure was well-proportioned.
Grace was only wrapped in a towel, which barely covered her buttocks, revealing her long, straight legs.
As she bent down to pick up the glass, her buttocks lifted slightly, deepening Xavier's gaze.
Grace picked up the nearby kettle and began to pour water into the glass when a hand suddenly touched her waist.
Grace's waist was sensitive, and she was startled by the sudden touch, causing the water in her hand to spill onto the towel.
"Oops." Grace hurried to clean up.
But the next moment, the hand on her waist directly tugged at the towel, causing it to fall off her body.
"Xavier!" Grace called his name, afraid to speak too loudly.
"What do you want?"
Xavier let go, and the towel slipped through his fingers, leaving Grace's delicate skin exposed.
With just one hand, he could grip Grace's slender waist, pulling her close to him.
Xavier was in a suit, while Grace was completely naked, pressed tightly against his body.
"Xavier..." Grace's voice was incredibly tense, her skin turning red with shyness in an instant. She was like a delicate rose bathed in sweet wine.
