Chapter 050 Xavier, I've Brought Your Wife

“Stop it!” she demanded.

“Stop? You seem to be enjoying this,” he retorted with a smirk.

“I’m calling the police!” she warned.

"Suit yourself, I just got out from the police station," he said casually. He was a frequent visitor to the precinct.

The more Kelly struggled, the more excited the man became. After all, she had approached him first, and dressed provocatively at that. He reasoned that even if he didn't touch her, somebody else would.

The man's strength was overwhelming, and Kelly couldn't escape his grasp. In the end, he got his way. Afterwards, he still buried his head in her chest, seemingly reluctant to part with her.

Holding her in his arms, the man tried to soothe her, "It was you who dressed so seductively and hugged me first. Even if you call the cops, they'll see that you kissed me willingly and got into my car of your own volition. If you say you don't know me, the police won't believe it."

"My boyfriend won't let you get away with this!" Kelly glared at him fiercely.

"Oh, you have a boyfriend? That's even better. Do you think he will still love you after knowing about this? No one wants a woman who's slept with a stranger. I'm James Eliot. Ask around; I'm a big deal in this area. Stick with me, and you won't lose out," he claimed, proudly.

Tears filled Kelly's eyes as her fingernails dug into her palms. She dared not go to the police or let Ryan find out about this; he certainly wouldn't want her then.

But she couldn't just let this go either!

James suggested, "The guys chasing you might come back. Now that we know each other, why don't you stay at my place tonight? Don't worry, I was just impulsive earlier. I'm a good guy; don't be afraid."

Having always been someone who didn't dwell on the past, Kelly figured looking forward might not be such a bad thing after all.

"Give me your phone; I need to make a call," she demanded.

James handed over his phone. "Calling your boyfriend?"

Kelly didn't answer. She dialed Ryan's number repeatedly but got no response. She handed the phone back to James, "I'll go to your place."

James grinned, the scar on his face appearing particularly menacing.

On their way, James stopped at a drugstore and bought some medicine, which he handed to Kelly, saying, "I suppose you don't want to carry my child, right?"

Kelly looked at the pill box and accepted the water James offered. Under his gaze, she pretended to swallow the medicine but kept the pills in her palm instead.

She had to have a child. If Ryan couldn't satisfy that need, what did it matter if the child was someone else's?

Back at Patrick's headquarters, his men reported that Kelly had escaped, and they had failed to bring her back.

Patrick felt they were incompetent, but he wasn't in a rush.

He heard Xavier had moved to a new place and seemed to plan on staying in Skigeth long-term. This could be both advantageous and disadvantageous for the Montgomery family.

Xavier had always been full of ideas, and from a young age, Patrick could see that in him, which eventually led to Patrick being driven away.

Now, on the one hand, Patrick had to rely on Xavier, but on the other hand, he was afraid of what Xavier might do to the Montgomery family. So, he decided to pay Xavier a visit right away.

Even though it was already night, Patrick still had his car prepared for his visit.

After leaving Montgomery Manor, Grace planned to book a hotel. However, she couldn't decide where to book after looking for quite some time.

Passing by, Victor suddenly spotted a woman sitting on the stairs not far away. He thought to himself, ‘Isn't that Xavier's wife? This place isn't far from Montgomery Manor. Could it be that she was kicked out?’

"Stop the car," Victor instructed his driver.

The car stopped in front of Grace. Hesitant at first, she prepared to spend more money to book the same room Xavier used to have. As she was about to make the payment, a car stopped in front of her.

"Grace, that's your name, right?" she heard through the lowered car window.

Looking at the man in the back seat, she asked, "Are you Victor?"

"You know me?" Victor remembered he hadn't met Grace much.

"You're famous, so I've heard of you." In truth, she had seen him on the news; Victor was a big shot in the entertainment industry.

"Where are you headed? Get in, I'll give you a ride," Victor offered.

Grace replied, "Thank you for the offer, but it's not necessary."

Victor insisted, "Don't mention it. Come on, get in. It just so happens I have some things I want to ask you about."

Since Xavier wasn't willing to talk, Victor naturally wanted to get some information from Grace.

"Then thank you," Grace reconsidered and got into Victor's car. After all, she had some matters she wanted Victor's help with, and this was a good opportunity.

Since she planned to start her own company and create a brand for a chain of stores, she certainly needed a spokesperson. Victor's talent agency was practically the leader in the entertainment industry, and he had an artist that Grace quite liked.

"Where's your home?" Victor inquired.

Grace gave him an address, to which Victor responded with surprise, "You're staying at a hotel?"

"Yeah." She didn't know if Tom had left yet, going back home still felt unsafe.

In Victor's view, she was homeless, and he didn't expect her to be in such a pitiable situation. He stroked his chin, a smile gracing his face, deciding to do a good deed.

Soon, the car entered the courtyard. Grace was engrossed in chatting with Victor, so she didn't notice until the car came to a stop. Only then did she realize something was amiss.

Grace was planning to go to a hotel, but where had Victor taken her?

Victor got out of the car first, and Grace followed suit, only to realize that the place they'd arrived at seemed vaguely familiar.

"Mr. Hastings," the butler greeted as he approached.

Victor gestured for Grace to keep up, and with a frown, she did just that, trailing behind him.

It wasn't until they'd entered the building that she saw the man who was bustling about. "Xavier, look who I've brought to you!"

Grace was speechless.

Xavier looked up and fell silent.

If Grace had known Victor was going to bring her here, she would never have gotten into the car.

The last time she and Xavier had met, things had been unpleasant, to say the least, and she hadn't expected to see him again so soon.

"Mr. Montgomery," Grace greeted, despite the tension.

Victor, seemingly proud of his matchmaking, said, "I was just passing by the Montgomery Manor and saw her at the entrance; she was about to stay at a hotel. I thought it over and decided to bring her to you.

"I've got another matter to attend to, so I'll be taking my leave," Victor said, clapping Xavier on the shoulder and then, in a low voice at Xavier's ear added, "Remember to thank me."

With that, Victor made a swift exit.

Grace didn't know whether to sit or stand, so she just started, "Mr. Hastings seems to have misunderstood. I didn't expect to be brought here."

Xavier didn't engage with Grace's explanation but instead inquired, "You went to the Montgomery Manor?"

Grace answered, "Yes, Mr. Patrick Montgomery invited me and Ryan for dinner."

Xavier nodded, then asked, "You were going to stay at a hotel?"

"It was a misunderstanding by Mr. Hastings; I'm not without a place to stay. I apologize for the intrusion. I'll be on my way." With those words, Grace headed toward the door, but just as she was about to exit, she saw a car parked in the courtyard. Patrick was stepping down from it.

Grace felt petrified and dared not venture out and decided to look for somewhere to hide!
