Chapter 427 I'm Pregnant

Grace flicked on the lamp, and the room lit up in an instant.

Xavier's face was right there, inches from hers, and she shoved him away.

"Breaking into someone's house is illegal. Are you leaving on your own, or should I call the cops?" Grace was already fuming.

She didn't want to see Xavier, not now, and didn't want to acknowledge any engagement with him.

Xavier, that jerk, should never show his face again.

Xavier just looked down, not saying a word, his eyes fixed on her feet.

"The floor's cold. Put on your shoes," he said.

Grace had jumped out of bed in a hurry and hadn't put on her slippers. It was winter, and her room didn't have a carpet, so she was standing barefoot on the cold floor.

"What does it matter to you if I wear shoes or not?" she snapped.

Xavier bent down and handed her the shoes. "Put them on."

"Are you crazy? Didn't you hear me? Get out of my house now!" Grace shouted.

She couldn't believe that Xavier would sneak into her house in the dead of night, especially after their fallout.

"I just wanted to see you. If you were ever to find a stranger in your house in the middle of the night and you're alone, don't make a sound, and definitely don't chase after them. If it's a criminal, they might attack you on the spot. It's very dangerous," Xavier said.

Grace sneered. "Stop pretending to care for me. I think those criminals are less dangerous than you. Mr. Montgomery, how disgraceful of you! Even after our relationship ended, you keep bothering me."

Xavier didn't mind Grace's insults because he knew she still had feelings for him.

Instead of getting angry, Xavier smiled, his mood seemingly good.

Grace thought Xavier was indeed crazy. "By the way, I have something to tell you. I've investigated, and your mother's death has nothing to do with my mom. If you're seeking revenge, you're targeting the wrong person."

"It doesn't matter anymore," Xavier said. Whether Grace's mother was responsible for his mother's death no longer mattered to him. What he wanted was Grace, regardless of her background.

"It does matter!" Grace's eyes fixed on Xavier. "My mom didn't do what you're accusing her of. Even if she's no longer in this world, no one should slander her. She was always a kind and good person, not at all like you say."

"Okay, I believe you," Xavier said.

Grace looked at Xavier suspiciously. Did he really believe her? Xavier's words seemed insincere.

"I've said what I needed to say. You can leave now." Grace pointed to the door.

"Why don't you go to sleep first? I'll leave once you're asleep," Xavier suggested.

Grace's eyes widened in surprise. With Xavier here, how could she possibly sleep?

"This is my house, and I'm not negotiating with you. If you don't leave, I'll really call the cops!" she said firmly.

"I'll go right away. Are you feeling well?" Xavier's eyes were still filled with concern.

Grace grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. "Get out!"

She managed to drive Xavier away and locked the door. She decided to change the password tomorrow.

No, she should change the lock. It wasn't safe otherwise.

Xavier did remind her. Despite that wild night, she didn't feel any discomfort. The baby seemed to be behaving well these past two days.

And in a couple of days, it would be time for her prenatal checkup.

With Xavier in Skigeth, she didn't dare go for a checkup. Given Xavier's immense influence, Grace was uncertain whether he would consent to her keeping the baby if he found out.

Although the baby was hers and she decided to keep it, Xavier would never allow a woman to have his child.

And even her brothers didn't know about this, so Grace planned to inform her family first.

She might get scolded, but they would find out eventually.

It was too late now, so Grace just sent Steven a message: [Steven, are you all around tomorrow? I have something to tell you.]

Grace barely slept the rest of the night, fearing Xavier might come back. But as dawn approached, she couldn't resist the sleepiness and fell into a deep sleep.

When she woke up, she saw a message from Steven: [Yes, I'll come pick you up in the morning.]

[I'm at your door.] Steven's message had been sent half an hour ago.

Grace quickly got up and opened the door. Steven was outside.

"Sorry, Steven, I overslept and didn't see your message. Why didn't you call me? I had my ringer on." Grace felt really embarrassed, knowing Steven had been waiting outside for half an hour.

Steven said, "It's okay, I just got here."

She invited Steven in, and he had brought breakfast. They ate together.

"Steven, I heard you have a fiancée?" Grace asked curiously while eating.

"Yes," Steven, who was usually not very talkative, replied.

"Who is she? When are you getting married?" Grace's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"You haven't met her. It's someone Grandpa arranged, the daughter of a family friend."

"Do you like her?" Grace asked.

Steven didn't answer but knocked on her head lightly. "Please eat quickly. Didn't you say you had something to tell us?"

Grace understood. It was a loveless marriage of convenience.

But the Coleman family was already so strong, with many businesses abroad. Did they still need a marriage of convenience?

Grace didn't understand but didn't ask further.

After breakfast, Grace went with Steven to the vacation villa. Chase seemed to like it there and was still playing around.

When Grace and Steven arrived, Scott and Thomas were already waiting with Chase. Scott looked particularly eager. "Grace, Steven said you had something to tell us. What is it?"

Grace had prepared herself to announce her pregnancy, but seeing her family, she didn't know how to start.

"I..." Grace began.

Everyone was staring at her, and she didn't know what to say.

Grace said, "If I tell you, you can't get mad or hit me. At most, you can scold me, okay?"

"Grace, what is it? You're making me nervous," Scott, usually the most careless, said. "What happened? Did you beat someone up? Do you owe a billion dollars? Those aren't big problems. Just tell us, and I'll handle it."

Grace said, "Scott, can't you hope for something good for me?"

"Then hurry up and tell us." Scott, being impatient, urged.

Grace took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant."

"What?" The entire Coleman family was stunned.
