Chapter 162 Her Worldview Was Shattered

Grace leaned against the door, her brows slightly furrowed. "I didn't mean that. I said I would contact you later, and I meant it. Mr. Montgomery, I'm really busy right now. Can we reschedule our conversation?"

At that moment, she felt the door being pushed. Fortunately, she was blocking it; otherwise, it might have been opened.

Angela's voice came from outside, "Strange, why is the door locked?"

"Grace." Just as she wanted to ask if Grace was inside, Grace cracked the door open slightly.

Seeing Grace inside, Angela found it even more peculiar, but that wasn't important. What mattered was the video on her phone. She was very excited, her voice rising, "Didn't I tell you last time that I saw Xavier being intimate with someone in the restroom? This time, I saw something even more shocking!"

Grace panicked.

She didn't know if Xavier had heard Angela. Angela's voice was too loud.

Grace glanced at Xavier and found him looking at her.

In this small dressing room, there was nowhere to hide, and Xavier certainly wouldn't hide.

If Xavier saw Angela, it would easily expose her identity. She was truly in a dilemma.

"Why don't we go inside to talk? I got a video," Angela suggested. Playing it outside might be overheard by others.

Grace squeezed through the small gap in the door, quickly closed it, and shut herself and Angela outside.

"What's wrong, Gr-?" Angela hadn't finished her sentence when Grace hurriedly covered her mouth.

"Angela, I need to use the restroom. Come with me," Grace said, pulling Angela towards the restroom.

"But I just used it. How about I wait for you in the room?"

"No!" Grace forcibly dragged Angela away.

She hoped Xavier would be sensible enough to leave quickly.

Grace was slightly worried, fearing that her secret wouldn't stay hidden. If Xavier found out she was Grace, it would cause a lot of trouble.

It wasn't scary if Xavier knew, but it would be terrifying if Ryan found out.

Ryan hated her now and still had the chance to break off the engagement. If Ryan insisted on marrying her, it would be even more troublesome.

"Aren't you going to the restroom? Why are you walking so slowly?" Angela asked, noticing Grace's pace.

"What were you going to tell me?" Grace quickly changed the subject.

At that mention, Angela was excited. "I just went to the restroom. Guess what I saw?"

"What?"

"Even more shocking than the racetrack incident. I saw Madison!" Angela said.

Hearing Madison's name, Grace was indeed surprised. "Madison is here too?"

"You’re surprised too, right? I saw Madison when I went to the show. She even tripped me, causing me to..."

At this point, Angela paused. "Never mind that; it's not important. The important thing is, how could Lewis Group afford to attend such a show? Madison sat next to an old man, and I didn't even notice him at first sight."

"Later, I went to the restroom and saw Madison and that old man doing that kind of thing!" Angela added.

"Coincidentally, I even recorded a video." Angela played the video, and Grace immediately recognized Daniel.

When she saw Daniel earlier, Grace thought Madison might be there too.

She just hadn't expected that after Daniel came to see her, he would drag Madison to the restroom.

"Madison is really something, isn't she? She can even handle this; the man must be seventy years old," Angela remarked, looking at Grace's expression. "Grace, why don't you seem surprised at all?"

"Because I knew about this," Grace replied.

"You already knew?" Angela's eyes widened. "Since when? With Madison's scandal, and you didn't tell me?"

"That man is Daniel, Taylor's godfather," Grace explained.

Angela covered her mouth. "What? So, he's Madison's god-grandfather?"

Madison wasn't just into serious things; she was downright twisted!

"Do Zach and Taylor  know about this?" Angela asked.

Grace nodded. "Yes, they even orchestrated it."

Angela fell silent.

'Oh my God, what kind of shocking gossip did I just get? How could there be such people in the world?' Angela was shocked inwardly as she said, "Tell me everything in detail. What exactly happened?"

Grace briefly recounted the events to Angela, who felt her worldview was being shattered.

"Is Madison brainless? Not reporting the assault is one thing, but actually getting involved with that old man? Is money really that important enough to sell herself out?"

Grace shook her head, replying, "I don't know. Everyone has different thoughts. We can't control others; we can only make sure we don't turn out that way."

Angela agreed, "Yes, I'm not that kind of person. I can earn my own money. Doesn't she find it disgusting, obtaining money in such a way?"

Angela was almost nauseated, but Madison probably didn't want anyone to know about this. However, Angela had photos; she wondered how Madison would maintain her arrogance in front of her in the future.

While Angela was still outside the restroom trying to process this, Grace washed her hands inside.

Angela was about to head to the dressing room when Grace stopped her. "The fashion show is over, right? Isn't there a judging? Don't you want to see what place you got?"

Angela had almost forgotten about that. "Oh! I'll check. You wait for me in the lounge."

Grace nodded and deliberately lingered outside for a while. She took a deep breath before returning to the dressing room.

Inside, Xavier was no longer there. On the makeup table, he had left a gold-embossed business card.

Xavier's name looked solemn.

Below the contact information, a series of numbers were written in pen, the ink still slightly wet indicating that they had just been written. It was Xavier's number.

Very few people knew his number. Grace put the card into her bag.

Her phone was still in the drawer. Grace took it out and saw a message from Angela, saying Xavier was there.

Grace was speechless. Couldn't Angela have messaged her a minute earlier?

At least she would have been somewhat prepared before going on stage, instead of being caught off guard by Xavier.

But it was all over now, and fortunately, Xavier hadn't made things difficult for her.

'However, the way Xavier leaned close to her, teasing her in her ear—does he do that with all women?'Grace thought.

After all, Xavier thought she was Mia, who was just a stranger he had met a few times, not the intimate Grace he once knew.

Grace felt a strange sensation, hard to describe, as if a faint sadness was welling up, making her heart feel heavy.
