Chapter 430 Xavier Sees Grace's Pregnancy Test Report

"I might need to go for a prenatal checkup in the next couple of days. I don't want Xavier to know, pleasehelp me to hide it ."

"Sure," Steven agreed immediately.

Steven was busy in arranging the New Year's trip to Country E. Before they left, Grace went to the hospital.

Xavier, with his keen interest in Grace, naturally knew all her actions.

Grace's visit to the hospital couldn't be concealed from Xavier, but Steven managed to obscure the true reason for her visit, saying a simple case of the common cold. If Xavier were to check, he would only find out that Grace had a cold, not that she went for a prenatal checkup.

The day after her checkup, Grace left for Country E with the Coleman family.

Thinking about meeting her uncle made Grace a bit nervous.

Meanwhile, Xavier, upon learning that Grace went to the hospital, immediately searched.

Even though he found out it was just a common cold, he was still a bit worried.

He also knew about Grace's trip to Country E. To see her again, he would have to wait until the new year. The mere thought of not seeing Grace for an extended period fills Xavier with a sense of unbearable longing..

Grace now had family, and the Coleman family treated her well, which brough joy to Xavier as well.

Unfortunately, once again, he found himself welcoming the New Year alone.

But he was used to spending holidays alone, and his workload never decreased.

On the day Grace left, Xavier already missed her so much.

Grace had planned to change the locks at home, but in her rush to leave, she didn't get around to it. She thought, since she wasn't home, Xavier wouldn't go to her home anyway.

Grace figured there wasn't much at home, so if Xavier wanted to go, he could.

As Grace expected, Xavier went to Grace's home that night.

Even though Grace wasn't there, being in her home made him feel much more at ease.

Xavier had a lot of work, so he brought it to Grace's home.

After doing these, Xavier started reviewing the materials on the shooting case. He had already looked into many clues intermittently.

Mason sent over some new leads and called Xavier. "Mr. Montgomery, as you suspected, the shareholder who arranged the ambush was instigated. Although they were very discreet, and there's no direct link to Aiden, the subtle connections point to him."

He added, "We retrieved all the surveillance from the Park Group. Mr. Montgomery, there's one suspicious area. I suspect Ms. Park is not unaware of this matter."

Mason quickly sent the surveillance footage to Xavier. The Park Group's surveillance only covered public areas; there certainly wasn't any in the office

There was a camera outside Joseph's office that showed the office door. On the day of the incident, Stephanie had entered.

But what they talked about behind closed doors was inaudible, only faint sounds left.

Mason said, "Mr. Montgomery, we had professionals work on the audio. It's not very clear, but you can vaguely hear Ms. Park asking Mr. Park to take you home after dinner."

He continued, "If that's really what she said, then Mr. Park taking you home wasn't a coincidence. Ms. Park must have known something. But why would she know, unless..."

A flash of ruthlessness crossed Xavier's eyes. If it truly was Stephanie behind this...

"Have they caught the suspect?" Xavier referred to the shareholder, Aiden.

"He's been arrested, but he won't confess." Mason replied.

"Keep pressing him for answers. Use any means necessary. Freeze all his private assets. We must get a confession," Xavier's expression was cold and grim, his eyes filled with a ruthless determination.

Xavier played the processed audio from Mason over and over. The sound had been extracted and amplified, but it was still faint due to the closed room.

However, he could vaguely hear Stephanie's voice. "Grandpa, can you take Xavier home after dinner tonight?"

Xavier played it countless times, confirming it was indeed that sentence.

His eyebrows twitched, and his hands clenched, nails almost digging into his palms.

He would rather this be an accident than have Joseph's death linked to Stephanie.

Everyone knew how much Joseph loved his granddaughter, Stephanie. She grew up surrounded by love, with Joseph giving her everything.

Even though Stephanie's parents had gone for many years, Joseph gave her even more love. He was the best person in the world to her.

If Stephanie harmed her own grandfather just to marry Xavier, she would be utterly foolish and disgraceful.

Stephanie was still in the Coleman family's custody. Xavier lit a cigarette, trying to calm himself.

He walked to the balcony, looking at the stars outside. Only after smoking several more cigarettes did he finally return.

The room was quiet, but Xavier couldn't calm down.

He entered Grace's bedroom, hoping her scent would soothe him.

He had no inclination to rummage through others' things, yet he noticed a piece of paper sticking out of a drawer. Xavier opened the drawer and found it was a hospital report.

His heart skipped a beat. He remembered Grace had gone to the hospital, and indeed, the patient's name on the report was Grace.

The more he read, the more shocked he became. This wasn't a common cold report; it was a prenatal checkup report.

Xavier was shocked to find Grace was pregnant.

The report was dated over a month ago, around the time he had ended their relationship.

It was his child! Xavier's mind buzzed, his body felt submerged in icy water, devoid of any warmth.

He remembered Grace seemed to have something to tell him back then, but he was too preoccupied to listen.

Grace had even rushed to Oakworth to find him after returning to Skigeth. Perhaps at that moment, Grace intended to tell him about this matter, but he hadn't given her the chance.

Not only did he not give her a chance, but he also said a lot of hurtful words.

Xavier felt like he was in an ice cave, his mind blank, making it hard to think. He was filled with regret.

No wonder he thought Grace looked thinner, but her waist seemed slightly thicker.

He had been so harsh to Grace that night...

If he had known she was pregnant, he would never have said those words or broken up with her!

Now that he knew, Xavier felt like hinself a jerk, unworthy of pursuing Grace again.

Steven's actions were too lenient. Xavier felt like punching himself.
