Chapter 456 Want to Be My Boyfriend? Three-Month Trial Period
"The phone is with the police. If you want to confirm, you'll have to find them over there."
"But miss, you've seen the situation here. Everyone is busy. Please don't come over and cause trouble."
"I'm not causing trouble. I want to confirm if the person who got into the accident is my friend. I've been calling him, but no one is answering."
Grace was genuinely worried; her legs were trembling.
Knowing she couldn't get through here, Grace ran to the other side.
Indeed, everyone was busy, and she shouldn't be causing trouble. She tried to sneak past, but was stopped.
"Please, let me go check. I haven't been able to reach my boyfriend. I want to make sure."
At that moment, it seemed the owner of the Maybach had been rescued. From a distance, Grace saw a man in a suit on a stretcher, but she couldn't tell his height. All she could see was the continuous flow of blood dripping down, turning the world into a sea of red.
Someone nearby said, "He looks like he's only in his twenties. What a pity."
At that moment, Grace's legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground.
The next second, she fell into a familiar embrace.
A familiar voice whispered in her ear, "Grace."
The faint scent of mint filled Grace's breath, and her mind went blank.
She didn't dare to look back, afraid that the voice and the embrace were just her imagination.
Xavier picked Grace up and carried her to the edge of the road.
Grace clung to his neck, staring at his face without blinking.
"Are you okay?"
Xavier held her tightly, unwilling to let go. His voice was still so clear, "I'm fine."
"Then why didn't you answer my calls? Why didn't you call me back if you were okay? Were you trying to scare me, or did you think it was funny?" Grace couldn't hold back anymore, and tears streamed down her face.
She was genuinely worried. Hearing about the Maybach and the cause of the accident, how could Grace not think of Xavier?
Xavier reached out to touch Grace, but seeing the blood on his hands, he refrained from touching her hair.
He hadn't expected Grace to know about the accident at the airport, nor did he expect her to think it was him and rush over immediately.
The accident happened right in front of him. It was sudden, and Xavier was very close. Someone was calling for help, and without waiting for the fire department or ambulance, he went over to help.
He had left his phone in the car and didn't know how many times Grace had called him.
Xavier had been helping out until he heard that a young lady was looking for her boyfriend. She seemed very anxious, trying to rush into the accident scene.
That's when Xavier saw Grace. He rushed over immediately, almost catching her collapse.
"I'm sorry, it's my fault." Xavier held her tightly; his heart moved by Grace.
Grace opened her mouth and bit Xavier's neck as if to confirm that he was really alive.
"The young man in the Maybach rushing to the airport wasn't me. I was helping out and didn't see my phone."
"Grace, I'm really glad you were so worried about me. I heard everything. You were afraid your boyfriend was in trouble, so your boyfriend is me?"
Xavier's voice was low. While people were busy with the rescue, the two of them were talking quietly.
Grace was still in Xavier's arms, her worry finally dissipating.
"Don't overthink it. I didn't say that."
"Everyone here knows a young lady was looking for her boyfriend. If you weren't looking for me, then who?"
"Grace, you still like me, don't you?"
"You're overthinking. I just heard about the accident on the radio. Since you're staying in Skigeth, I felt responsible, so I came to check. I've long forgotten about you. Don't be wishful thinking." Grace said coldly on purpose.
But with tears still hanging on her eyelashes, she didn't look very convincing.
"Last time, when Daniel framed you, you confessed to me. You said you liked me."
Grace's eyes widened. She had no memory of this. When did it happen?
"You're lying!" She couldn't believe she had said such a thing.
"Am I lying? Ask your heart. Can you say you weren't worried about me? Can you say you've really forgotten me?" Xavier's voice was filled with affection and coaxing.
He always knew Grace was someone who valued feelings deeply.
"I wasn't!"
Before Grace could finish, Xavier leaned in and kissed her.
Xavier's scent filled the air, and Grace's long eyelashes fluttered.
She couldn't lie to herself. She still liked Xavier a lot.
Xavier had his unique charm. Although his words had once hurt her deeply, making her feel like giving up, she had buried those feelings deep in her heart. She had never truly let go.
Hearing about today's accident, Grace was genuinely anxious. She was very worried about him and didn't want anything to happen to him.
Xavier's kiss wasn't long. He quickly let go of Grace and pulled her back into his arms.
His heart was pounding. He was genuinely happy that Grace had come.
"It's okay. I know." He knew Grace was pretending to be cold.
Grace quietly reached out and grabbed Xavier's shirt.
She took a deep breath, and when she opened her eyes again, she said, "Three-month trial period."
"What?"
"You want to be my boyfriend, right? Three-month trial period. If you do well, I'll agree."
"Really? Grace, are you serious?" This was a huge surprise for Xavier.
"If you don't want to, forget it." Grace regretted it as soon as she said it. Why did she give Xavier another chance?
"I want to! I heard it. No take-backs." Xavier's lips curved into a smile. Was this his chance, thanks to someone else's misfortune?
Grace didn't regret it that much. She saw it as giving Xavier and herself a chance.
Three months. If they proved to be incompatible, Grace would truly let go.
"Are you hurt?" She finally noticed the smell of blood and saw Xavier's hands were red.
She anxiously grabbed Xavier's hand, thinking he was injured.
Xavier said, "It's not my blood. I was helping out. The scene was pretty gruesome. Does the smell bother you? Are you feeling unwell?"
