Chapter 022 Tangled Bliss

The next morning, Grace struggled to rise from bed, her waist aching.

Xavier's persistence was unwavering. His grip on her waist conveyed unyielding strength..

Whenever she objected, Xavier would nibble her earlobe, his voice thick with masculine allure, accusing her of intentional seduction.

Perched on that desk, Grace watched as Xavier swept the documents to the floor. The desk, the floor-to-ceiling windows, the nearby sofa, and the bedroom carried traces of their passion.

His hands encircled her neck, their connection intense.

Xavier contemplated switching on the lights, but Grace intervened.

"I'm afraid you'll lose interest if you see my face," she whispered in his ear.

In that moment, Xavier hesitated.

Grace wondered if his interest waned at the thought of her appearance, yet the next instant, his embrace tightened with even greater fervor.

Grace wasn't aware of when it all ended.

The only sound that registered for her was Xavier's deep growls in her ear.

He resembled a ravenous wolf, capturing its prey and refusing to release it until every morsel was devoured..

Grace felt genuine fear creeping in. Upon reflection, she considered that perhaps Xavier had held back during their initial encounter because it was her first time.

However, this time, there was no sign of restraint.

Upon waking and noticing the number of used condoms, Grace was shocked.

With dawn approaching, Xavier appeared to have just drifted off to sleep.

Fearful of disturbing him, Grace refrained from turning on the lights. She quietly slipped out of bed and put on the clothes Xavier had prepared for her the previous night.

The attire was complete, down to the underwear, and they fit her perfectly. Despite only spending one night together, Xavier seemed to know her measurements with uncanny accuracy!

Grace left the room after dressing. Outside the hotel, the rain had stopped. As she sat in the taxi, a sense of relief washed over her.

It seemed like she would have to always carry makeup with her from now on. Xavier likely hadn't seen her face!

Returning to her own home, Grace swiftly showered in the bathroom.

No wonder Ryan found pleasure in seeking out casual encounters—it was undeniably enjoyable!

As Grace finished dressing after her shower, she noticed several bruises below her neck, some from pinching, some from sucking, and even two marks on her neck. Applying a generous amount of foundation; she had to go to the office today, and it wouldn't look good if others saw it!

Madison slept until 10 in the morning. After putting on a flawless makeup look, she had her driver take her to the company.

Upon reaching the office, she saw her assistant Emily looking extremely anxious at the company's entrance.

Spotting Madison, Emily rushed over, "Ms. Lewis, why are you just arriving now? Something big has happened!"

Unperturbed, Madison replied, "What could possibly happen? Even if the sky falls, my father will still be there to hold it up."

"It's Grace. She arrived at your office early this morning and had all your belongings thrown out. She's currently occupying your office!" Emily informer, a sense of panic in her voice.

"What!" Madison's face changed color. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Emily looked innocent, "I called you several times, but you didn't answer."

Furthermore, Madison had explicitly instructed not to call her unless it was urgent; she didn't deal with company matters!

Hurriedly, Madison went upstairs to the fragrance department, only to find her office completely cleared out. Sitting in her place was that annoying woman.

"Grace, get out of here. Who gave you the right to sit in my place?" Madison was very upset.

Grace looked at Madison, "Your place? Didn't HR inform you? This is now my position."

"What are you saying? How is that possible!" Madison was incredulous to find Grace in her sea.

"Get up and get out!" Madison was on the verge of physically removing Grace.

"Shouldn't the position be based on merit? Who deserves to sit there? You know better than I do. Do you think you deserve it?"

"You!" Furious and frustrated, Madison shouted, "You despicable person!"

"Madison, your current demeanor is quite reminiscent of a shrew." Grace crossed her legs, "If you can negotiate a contract, I can consider giving up this position to you."

"You!" Madison pointed rudely at her.

"What's so great about you? Who knows what tactics you used to get that contract? I heard Mr. Reed invited you to the hotel last night. Are you implying you spent the entire night with him? Does Ryan know about this?"

Before Madison could finish her accusations, a glass of water splashed right into her face.

Grace calmly placed down the cup, "Consider it a refreshing cleanse, so you can move past these baseless insinuations."

"You!" Madison felt deeply humiliated, especially with so many people watching. It was mortifying; she felt utterly exposed.

With a furious stomp, she pointed at Grace, "You just wait!"

"I'm right here waiting for you,” Grace replied, her gaze unwavering.

Inside the president's office of the Lewis Group, Madison stormed in, not caring about the other people present.

"Dad! Grace is bullying me; aren't you going to do anything about it?" Madison asked.

Zach waved his hand, signaling for the others to leave the office while responding, "Madison, what’s wrong?"

At that moment, the Zach held the signer contract for the Lewis. Zach had not expected Grace to pull it off and secure the contract.

This achievement meant that the resolution of the company's financial challenges for the following quarter.

"Dad!" Madison charged into Zach's office, "Grace has taken over my office. Did you allow this?"

"My dear daughter, what happened to you? Why are you all wet?" Zach quickly grabbed some tissues to dry off Madison.

"It was a promise I made to her. As long as she landed the contract, she could take your place. I didn't think she'd manage it!" Zach explained.

"Why her? If she takes my place, what about me? Dad, you can't play favorites or let me suffer like this!" Madison remarked.

From a mere team leader in the planning department, and now, Grace was suddenly a manager.

"If there are other departments with a manager position open, I’ll arrange for you to transfer there, how does that sound?" Zach proposed.

"No way! If I become a manager, that puts me on the same level as Grace. Dad, I remember there's still a director position vacant, right? Since it's empty, why not consider me for it?" Madison suggested.

A director's role held much greater responsibility than that of a manager. It involved overseeing multiple departments and managers!

"Madison, becoming a director is a serious step. You’re still young; perhaps in a few years?" Zach advised.

"No, I want it now. Don’t forget, dad, the company has grown this big also thanks to mom's contributions. Without her, how could the company have expanded to this extent?" Madison pressured.

"Madison, this is..." Zach hesitated, trying to find an excuse.

However, Madison was furious and pushed past Zach as she stormed out of the office, "I get it, you never had a daughter in your heart!"
