Chapter 460 Let's Get Married
Grace and Lily had a brief chat about work. Over the past month, Lily and her team had visited the stores in Country E, selected several, set up the counters, and started operations.
Lily said, "Ms. Lewis, Mr. Clark has been a great help to me these past few days."
"Mr. Clark?"
"Yes, Mr. Montgomery's secretary, Mason. He knows so much, and his ideas are far better than ours. Without him, we wouldn't have been so smooth; we would have taken many detours."
Grace didn't expect that Mason had been helping Lily and her team all along.
This must have been Xavier's instruction. Before the New Year, Lily mentioned how smoothly business negotiations were going, which must have been due to Xavier's help.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
Grace was still on the phone with Lily and her team when Xavier peeked in through a small gap, "Are you done? How about having a bite to eat first?"
He was holding a freshly made strawberry pudding. It was almost lunchtime, and he wanted Grace to have something to fill her stomach.
"Is that Mr. Montgomery? Mr. Montgomery is so considerate. Ms. Lewis, haven't you had breakfast yet? Go eat quickly," Lily and her team chimed in.
After hanging up the video call, Grace started eating the pudding Xavier made.
The pudding was very sweet and rich, and Grace quite liked it. She didn't expect Xavier to have such a skill.
"How does it taste?" Xavier asked.
"Didn't you try it yourself?" Grace blinked, her eyes sparkling.
"No," Xavier said. He made it based on feeling and hadn't tasted it himself.
Grace scooped a bit with a spoon and brought it to Xavier's mouth, "Then you try it."
Xavier looked down at the spoon in front of him. This was the spoon Grace had used, indicating she didn't mind sharing with him.
Xavier leaned down and ate the spoonful.
"How is it?" Grace asked.
Xavier said, "Not sweet enough."
Not sweet enough?
Grace thought it was already very sweet, with a strong strawberry flavor.
"Anyway, you don't like sweets. But if you want it sweeter, you can add some jam."
"No need," Xavier said, quickly leaning down to kiss Grace on the lips.
He easily pried open Grace's lips and teeth, plundering everything from her. Xavier said, "Now it's sweet."
Grace's face turned red, "You're being a rogue, points deducted!"
"Don't you like it this way?"
"I don't."
Grace's lips were sealed again as Xavier kissed her, not giving her a chance to say she didn't like it.
For the past two days, Xavier had been staying home with Grace, not going anywhere.
Xavier seemed to have reverted to his passionate younger self, kissing her and touching her frequently.
Xavier said he wanted to make up for the lost time, and he was very skilled. Every time, Grace would succumb to him. She tried to resist but couldn't push him away as he made her feel so good.
"Is this how you serve me?" Grace panted late at night.
"Isn't this a good way to serve you?" Xavier kissed Grace's fingers and held them tightly.
"No!" She could hardly bear it.
She felt that if this continued, she would faint on the bed one day.
"Xavier, do you not really like me? Are you just looking for a compatible bed partner? Do you just like the feeling of making love with me?"
Grace wondered if Xavier saw her as a sex toy.
"Do you really think I'm that kind of person?" Xavier kissed her cheek.
"Aren't you?"
Xavier chuckled, "Where did you get that idea? If I didn't like you, how could I make love with you?"
"That's not necessarily true. Men think with their lower bodies. Why are you like this again?" Grace's face turned red. They had just finished, and Xavier was already reacting again!
"Maybe other men are like that, but not me. Before I met you, I thought I was asexual. If I were only with you for sex, I would have forced you long ago. I haven't been with any other woman all these years. If you don't believe me, ask Mason."
"Mason is your secretary; of course, he would side with you."
"Then I'll call him." Xavier reached for his phone.
"Don't." Grace stopped him.
It would be so awkward to call Mason after they had just been intimate.
"You still don't believe in my love for you. How about we get married? Once you become Mrs. Montgomery, you'll know I truly like you."
Grace's heart skipped a beat. She didn't expect Xavier to mention marriage.
She had never thought about marriage. She wasn't that old yet, and she never thought she and Xavier would have a future, so she never considered it.
Besides, she was never with Xavier for the title of Mrs. Montgomery.
"You're being too impulsive."
"So, do you agree or not?" Xavier's deep eyes looked at her.
Grace shook her head, "No, who proposes like this? Marrying you so easily would be too cheap. Besides, you're just a trial boyfriend now!"
Marriage was a big deal, and Grace needed to think it over. She wasn't sure how sincere Xavier was.
She wasn't even sure if this was just a sweet dream, and maybe the Xavier in front of her was fake, just pretending.
She still liked Xavier but didn't dare to give her heart away so easily again.
"Precisely because I'm still in the trial period, I need to perform well to make Ms. Lewis satisfied and give me a permanent position."
"I don't."
Xavier launched a new round of attacks, and Grace felt she was about to faint on the bed.
In the end, she was so exhausted that she lay on Xavier's chest, and Xavier held her.
Grace was so tired that she didn't even want to lift her hand. She said, "Weren't you going back to Oakworth for something? Why haven't you gone back yet?"
"I might go back in the next couple of days."
"What are you going back for?" Grace asked.
"Don't you want me to go back?"
"I'm just asking."
"Going back for some work." After all, the headquarters was in Oakworth, and Xavier had a lot of work to handle.
Xavier told Grace everything he had to do when he went back.
"Last time in Country E, you said you were coming back to investigate something. How did that go?"
"The investigation is complete. It was Stephanie."
"No way!" Grace was shocked, "Joseph's love for Stephanie is well-known. How could Stephanie do such a thing? And Joseph is her only relative."
No normal person would do something so cruel.
