Chapter 180 A Heartless Man

"Get out."

Xavier's gaze was sharp, exuding an intimidating chill that rendered Ronald immobile. Xavier's eyes then shifted to Ronald's hand, which had just touched Grace. In that instant, Ronald felt as if a knife-like stare was about to sever his hand.

Grace's body gave way without support. Xavier, quick as lightning, caught her, letting her lean against his chest.

In her disoriented state, Grace sensed herself being enveloped in a familiar embrace. The fragrance was pleasant, crisp, and refreshing, a stark contrast to the repugnant odor from earlier, instilling a feeling of safety within her.

Nestling into Xavier's arms, she felt a sense of comfort. Xavier gazed down at her, then stooped over and gently lifted her up.

The strong smell of alcohol indicated that Grace had drunk a lot.

"First come, first served, got it? I spotted her first," Ronald insisted. James had entrusted him with a task, and he couldn't afford to come back without fulfilling it.

But how could such an ordinary girl attract such a handsome man? Ronald couldn't just watch Grace be taken away. He tried to stop them, reaching out to touch Grace.

Xavier immediately grabbed Ronald's wrist and twisted it in one direction. A cracking sound, like a bone breaking, was heard. Ronald cried out in pain.

The sound made Grace lift her head from Xavier's chest, her eyes still hazy, searching around. She mumbled, "Is someone butchering a pig?"

Xavier's voice was like a demon from hell, "Still not leaving?"

"Fine, I'm leaving now." Ronald sensed a formidable air emanating from Xavier, a presence he had never encountered before. It was clear that Xavier was not to be underestimated.

He gritted his teeth, unwilling but helpless, and had to go back to report his failure to James, hoping for another chance next time.

Ronald left but didn't go far. He hid nearby, watching them. Xavier carried Grace towards a luxury car.

"Grace, it's very late. Don't you have work tomorrow? I'll take you home," said Xavier.

Grace, still in a daze, heard some sounds telling her to go back. "I don't want to go back. I don't want to go back." She hated Zach; she didn't want to see Zach.

She couldn't understand the existence of someone like Zach in the world. He was a beast, undeserving of the title of father. Just the mere thought of his name caused her stomach to churn, a sickening sensation rising within her, almost making her want to retch. Zach was repulsive, even more so than Ryan. No, in her eyes, they were equally repugnant.

Grace felt something in her hand, and upon picking it up, she tried to discern its identity. It appeared to be a room card. Confused and in a state of inebriation, Grace muttered, "I got a room. I must have booked a room."

"Cutie, do you want to go to the room with me?" Grace's eyes, half-lidded and misty, gazed at Xavier. He observed the room card in her hand, his expression darkening, his voice taking on a menacing edge. "You want to go to the room with me?"

Ryan had his fair share of women; why should Grace feel guilty about booking a room? Furthermore, the man standing before her was undeniably handsome, his features impeccable and oddly familiar.

Grace hooked her arms around Xavier's neck, trying to identify him, then murmured, "You look like Xavier."

A faint smile tugged at Xavier's lips as he thought to himself, 'Not bad. Despite being inebriated, she still managed to remember my name.'

But in the next second, Grace's words made Xavier's smile freeze.

"That heartless man," she said, her voice tinged with a bit of grievance.

'Me? Heartless?'

Xavier was displeased. "I'll give you a chance to rethink your words."

If he were truly heartless, he wouldn't have spent the entire day following Grace out of concern. Nor would he have appeared by her side just in time to fend off the ruffians.

Grace was still in Xavier's arms, trying hard to lift her head and see the person in front of her. Finally, she tilted her head and smiled. "You're more handsome than him!"

Xavier's breath caught for a moment. 'Never mind. Grace was just a drunkard.' Since she wanted to go to a room with him, he would oblige her. Xavier took the room card from Grace's hand, checked the hotel's name and room number, and then carried her over.

He assumed it was a room Grace had booked and didn't think much of it.

Ronald, who hadn't left, quietly followed them. Seeing Xavier and Grace enter the hotel and go straight upstairs without booking a room, he was certain they went to the room he had arranged.

He felt a secret thrill of delight, as if luck had smiled upon him. Even though he wasn't the one going, the mission had still been accomplished.

Ronald hurried to the private room to inform James and Kelly of the situation.

Kelly frowned her brow. "Are you sure they went to that room?"

"I'm sure. I saw the elevator; it's definitely that floor, no doubt about it."

Kelly's lips curled up. "Good. But who is that man, and what does he look like?"

"He is very handsome, looking cool," Ronald replied.

A handsome man interested in Grace? Could it be someone Grace knew? It couldn't be Ryan, could it? Kelly pulled out a photo of Ryan and asked Ronald, "Is it this person?"

Ronald looked at it. "No."

He didn't mention that the man was even more handsome than the one in the photo.

If it wasn't Ryan, then it was easier to handle. No matter who he was, if he was another man, it wouldn't be a problem.

"Go back and keep an eye on him. Ensure he doesn't leave. I'll handle the media. Tomorrow, Grace's reputation will be in tatters!" Kelly seemed happy.

Even if it was the same trick, as long as it worked, it was a good trick.

By tomorrow morning, Kelly would call Ryan over and catch Grace and the man in bed. Then, she would see if Ryan still wanted Grace after Grace had been with another man.

In the nearby hotel, Xavier carried Grace upstairs and used the card she held to unlock the room.

The lights came on as the door opened. Seeing the bed inside, Grace's rationality returned a bit. Madison's fate and Daniel's face flashed in her mind, and she instinctively felt fear.

"Where are you taking me? You brought me to a hotel? I don't want this; I'm not that type of person!"

Saying this, Grace tried to get out of Xavier's arms and run. She twisted and turned in his embrace, rubbing against his body. Soon, Xavier felt parched, as if a fire was burning within him.

"Get it straight, you brought me to the hotel!" Xavier closed the door with his foot and then threw Grace onto the bed.

Probably scared, Grace stood up to leave. "I don't want to stay in the room!"

Xavier grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. His voice, now tinged with a hint of ferocity, said, "Too late!"
