Chapter 566 The Princess Sees Grace's Face
"Hey, what do you think of this plastic surgeon's work?" Grace teased Robert.
Robert gave a thumbs up. "It's amazing! Can you introduce me?"
"No way!"
"Seriously, what's going on? Are you really Grace?" Robert couldn't believe his eyes.
It hadn't been that long since they last met, but now...
"Can't you tell from my voice?"
Listening to Grace's voice, Robert had to admit it sounded like her, but her face was unrecognizable. However, her eyes were the same—bright and sparkling like stars.
The first time Robert met Grace, he was immediately drawn to her eyes. Her face had been ordinary, but those eyes made her look beautiful. Now, Grace was stunningly gorgeous, almost unbelievably so.
"So, what's the deal? Is this the real you, or was it the old you?"
Grace replied, "Can't they both be me?"
Robert made a request, "Can you come closer so I can take a good look?"
Grace stayed silent.
Robert even wanted to reach out and pinch her cheek to see if it was real or if she'd had surgery. But before he could touch her, a voice interrupted, "Are all people from Aetheria this rude?"
Robert turned to see Xavier.
"Oh, it's you." Robert had met Xavier before.
When Grace was in Aetheria, Robert had seen Xavier waiting for her by the roadside. He never expected them to become a couple, but now that he saw them together, they did seem well-matched.
"Yes, let me introduce you. This is my fiancée. We're getting married next month." Xavier extended his hand to Robert.
Robert was speechless. Shouldn't Grace be the one introducing Xavier? After all, he and Grace already knew each other.
"Congratulations! I'll make sure to get you a nice wedding gift."
Grace said, "Thanks in advance. We should head upstairs; Her Royal Highness Jane York must be getting impatient."
"Alright." Robert led Grace upstairs. Jane was already sitting at the dining table, looking quite annoyed.
As a princess, she wasn't used to being kept waiting.
Just as Jane was about to call Robert, the door to the private room finally opened.
"Robert, why are you so slow? They..." Jane started to complain but turned her head and froze when she saw Grace.
Her eyes widened in shock, her pupils dilating. Jane's expression was one of uncontrollable surprise. "You..."
Grace was puzzled. "Her Royal Highness Jane York, it's me, Grace. We've met twice before. Don't you recognize me?"
Grace thought Jane was surprised because she didn't recognize her, so she introduced herself.
Jane was too stunned to speak. This face was her worst nightmare. How could it be? Elizabeth was supposed to be dead. How could she still be alive and so young?
"Jane, we owe a lot to Grace and Xavier. If it weren't for them, things could have gone very wrong for you," Robert said, trying to snap Jane out of her daze. He gently tugged at her, but she didn't move.
"Jane? What's wrong with you?" Robert noticed Jane's odd behavior. She seemed terrified.
Robert quickly invited Grace and Xavier in and asked the waiter to serve the food. He apologized to Grace, "I'm sorry, Jane's been acting strange since she woke up."
"It's okay," Grace replied, not too concerned.
But Jane was in a daze. This couldn't be happening. It was impossible!
As the food was served, Jane still hadn't recovered. Robert thanked Grace and Xavier, "Thank you for saving Jane. Jane, you should raise your glass and thank them."
Robert noticed Jane's continued odd behavior. She had been fine earlier, but now she seemed like a different person. Was she that shocked by Grace's appearance?
Jane picked up her glass, her hand trembling. Suddenly, the glass slipped from her hand and shattered on the floor. Jane quickly stood up, and the waiter rushed over to clean up.
"Jane, maybe I should take you to see a doctor. Dorian heard about your situation and is on his way."
"No! He can't come!" Jane was extremely agitated.
"Why not? Dorian is worried about you."
Jane glanced at Grace, barely able to stand. "Your Highness, are you okay?" Grace asked, concerned.
Jane shook her head. "I just don't want to waste Dorian's time over something so minor."
She couldn't let Dorian come. He would definitely see Grace.
Jane remembered a time when Dorian had fainted suddenly. He never explained why, but now Jane suspected it was because he had seen Grace.
Jane's mind was in turmoil. Jared must know about this. Why hadn't he told her?
Elizabeth had left in a hurry, but she was pregnant. Jane trembled at the thought. Was Grace Dorian's child?
"Robert, I'm not feeling well. I need to rest," Jane said, still shaking.
Her face was pale, but it could be explained by the shock she had experienced.
"Jane, let me take you to your room."
Robert apologized to Grace, "I'm sorry, but we'll have to reschedule our dinner."
"It's fine. Her Highness's health is more important. Maybe you should take her to the hospital?"
"I have a private doctor. They said Jane is fine."
Robert quickly left with Jane, leaving Grace and Xavier alone in the room.
The food was already served, and it would be a waste to leave now.
Grace found Jane's reaction very strange. "Xavier, don't you think her reaction was a bit much?"
"Yeah, she seemed really scared."
"But we didn't do anything to scare her. Could it be because of my face?"
Grace had a bold guess. "Do you think she might have known my mother?"
Otherwise, why would Jane react that way? Grace couldn't think of any other explanation.
