Chapter 186 I Said, She's Not Grace

"Xavier, are you serious?" Ryan asked.
"I don't joke. Besides, didn't you call all these people to witness? Do you think I'd break my promise?"
'DG Group's got a ton of shares. Is Xavier really ready to hand them all over to me? Maybe he's doing this to make up for messing around with my fiancée and not owning up to it.' With that thought, Ryan was convinced.
With so many media outlets catching wind of it, Xavier must have been sweating over his reputation and looking to use this as leverage to silence Ryan. If Xavier went through with handing over DG Group, then Grace's one-night stand with him wouldn't seem like such a big deal after all.
Ryan said confidently, "Alright, I accept the bet."
"I believe everyone here heard that," Xavier said, his gaze sweeping over the crowd.
Everyone nodded, and Xavier added, "Let's be clear so there's no backing out if you lose. I don't have time for second thoughts later, so this bet needs to be witnessed by everyone here."
Ryan's lips moved slightly. "Deal."
Xavier's hand moved from holding Grace's wrist to wrapping around her waist, bringing her out from behind him.
At that moment, Grace lifted her head, her face fully exposed to everyone's view.
She had just washed her face and wasn't wearing makeup, but her beautiful face immediately caught everyone's attention.
Her skin was flawless, her eyes bright and captivating, with slightly upturned corners. Her lips, without lipstick, were rosy and alluring, still with a few droplets of water, making her look like an enchanting yet cute fox.
Her beauty was so captivating that onlookers couldn't tear their gaze away. The spaghetti strap dress and high heels she wore seemed custom-made for her. Despite her ethereal beauty, she had a sense of maturity. Standing next to Xavier, she showed no hint of fear, seamlessly blending these contrasting qualities.
Grace had live-streamed online yesterday, and everyone had seen her. She wasn't unattractive, just plain. With a dark complexion and freckles, she easily faded into a crowd. She had no distinctive aura and wasn't particularly tall, embodying the essence of an ordinary person.
But the woman beside Xavier was a rare beauty, her looks outshining celebrities online.
Everyone was mesmerized by her beauty, forgetting to blink.
People had speculated about what kind of woman could stand beside Xavier without being overshadowed by his strong presence. Now, seeing them together, it seemed like they were destined for each other.
Ryan was even more stunned, forgetting about his bet with Xavier, lost in her beauty.
'How could it be her? Isn't she the model he had been sending flowers to and pursuing?' he wondered.
Grace leaned against Xavier calmly, remembering his instruction not to speak, so she didn't say a word.
Xavier's gaze was indifferent. "I told you, she is not Grace."
"She really isn't Grace," others said.
"Impossible!" Ryan still didn't believe it, retorting, "How could she not be Grace? I want to go in and check."
Ryan went inside to search but found nothing, no other woman hidden. He had a sudden realization, his expression turning to one of terror as he gazed at Grace. "Could it be you, Grace?"
Recalling her elusive nature, he remembered how she seldom made appearances. Despite his extensive search throughout Skigeth, she remained elusive. The memory of her presence at the Montgomery family banquet resurfaced, adding to the puzzle.
Could it be that Grace could change her face and suddenly become a beauty?
After saying this, Ryan was scared by his own thoughts.
Grace curled her lips slightly, her smile making everyone around her even more captivated.
"Who is Grace? Is she as beautiful as me, with a body like mine, and as tall as me?" Grace deliberately altered her voice, making it sound different from her usual self.
With this reminder, Ryan realized that this woman did seem taller and had a better figure than Grace.
Ryan's eyes dimmed, and Grace finally sighed in relief.
Fortunately, her typical attire consisted of loose clothing, a stark contrast to today's dress that accentuated her waist.
Moreover, she usually opted for flat shoes, but the towering high heels she wore today significantly altered her height. Standing next to Xavier, she appeared taller than usual, creating a deceptive impression for onlookers.
At this moment, Xavier spoke in a cold tone, "I said, she is not Grace."
Ryan still didn't believe it. "How is that possible!"
He had received information that Grace had come to a hotel with another man, and he was supposed to catch her cheating.
How did it turn into Xavier coming to a hotel with another woman?
Ryan was anxious. "I'll have someone check the surveillance!"
The surveillance footage would definitely show if it was Grace who came in last night.
He had to prove it was Grace, otherwise, he would be giving all those Montgomery Group shares to Grace for nothing!
However, Ryan quickly found out that the surveillance footage had been deleted.
Ryan thought he had found something, pointing, "You had the surveillance deleted, didn't you? If she isn't Grace, why delete the footage?"
Xavier's lips curled slightly, his gaze fixed on Ryan with a hint of disdain. "Unlike you, I don't leave a trace when I visit a hotel," he remarked.
Others covered their mouths, realizing that was why no one had ever caught Xavier with another woman. It wasn't that he was abstinent, but that all his hotel records were deleted.
Grace was left speechless, her mind racing with thoughts. 'Xavier is truly going all in, even if it means tarnishing his own reputation.'
She didn't even know when the surveillance footage was deleted.
Ryan remained determined, refusing to back down. Upon inspecting the hotel records, he discovered no sign of Grace. Instead, the individual who had checked in the previous day was Ronald, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding mystery.
At this moment, Xavier spoke, "Why go through so much trouble to prove if it's Grace? Just call her."
Ryan knew she wouldn't answer his call. "She won't answer my call."
Xavier handed him his phone. "Use mine."
Ryan dialed Grace's number using Xavier's phone, his eyes fixed on the woman in front of him, trying to see if she would react.
However, when the call was answered, Ryan was surprised.
"Put it on speaker," Xavier said.
Ryan followed Xavier's instructions, and a female voice came through. "Hello, Xavier?"
The voice was indeed Grace's.
