Chapter 612 Shot Her, Crippled Her
Xavier's face was stone-cold, his voice even icier, "I gave you a chance, and you blew it."
Brittany had the nerve to pretend to be someone from his past to trick him. She must have a death wish.
He was here not just to confirm his suspicions but to make sure Brittany paid the price she deserved.
"You like doing charity work and cooking for people, right? Well, guess what? You're gonna be doing that for the rest of your life."
With that, Xavier stood up.
As he opened the door, he waved his hand, and someone quickly came in to drag Brittany away.
"No, no, Xavier, I saved your life! You can't do this to me!"
Brittany struggled, but she was no match for Xavier.
"Let go of me! Xavier, that crystal is mine! You gave it to me! You brought me food back then. Without me, you would've died long ago. You heartless jerk, you'll regret this! You'll die a horrible death!"
Brittany screamed, but Xavier didn't flinch.
He'd been cursed by plenty of people; Brittany's words meant nothing to him.
Seeing Xavier's indifferent expression, Brittany kept cursing, "And Grace, that bitch, she took everything from me and ruined my life. She'll get what's coming to her. She deserves to die, to get hit by a car. I curse her..."
Before Brittany could finish, a gunshot rang out.
The next second, Brittany screamed in pain.
She clutched her leg, which now had a fresh, bleeding hole in it.
The intense pain made Brittany grimace and scream.
She couldn't move, she could only cry out in agony.
Xavier watched her, his eyes cold as ice.
"Grace will live well, while you'll be like a bug in the gutter, never able to crawl out."
His gaze was terrifying, like that of a mafia boss, utterly ruthless.
She had cursed him without consequence, but as soon as she mentioned Grace, Xavier shot her.
He hadn't shot her when she deceived him.
Could Grace really be that important to Xavier, more important than himself? Was no one allowed to insult Grace?
Xavier turned his head and looked at the people holding Brittany.
"If you can't speak properly, then don't speak at all."
"Got it." They immediately understood.
"No! What are you gonna do? Xavier, I'm begging you, please, I know I was wrong. I won't say anything anymore. I admit, I wasn't the one who brought you food back then. Just let me go, consider it as good karma for Grace." Brittany, in intense pain, knelt behind Xavier.
But Xavier didn't even glance at her, he just walked away.
No matter how much Brittany screamed and cried behind him, Xavier remained unmoved.
"Xavier, you can't do this to me," Brittany roared. "I didn't do anything wrong, I didn't hurt Grace. Why are you doing this to me?"
Xavier had already walked far away, unable to hear Brittany's words.
Even if he did hear, it would only make Brittany die faster.
The person next to her grabbed her jaw, not giving Brittany a chance to be terrified, "What are you gonna do?"
These guys had been with Xavier for ages. They were ruthless, silent, and acted without hesitation, "Mr. Montgomery said you should never speak again."
"Help! Help! Jared, where are your people? You told me to cooperate with you, come save me!"
Brittany knew there were cameras here; Jared could see her.
Jared's people were supposed to be hidden outside. He had promised her that no matter what happened, he would ensure her safety and rescue her immediately.
But where were Jared's people now?
Brittany waited, but no one came. She could only watch helplessly as her tongue was cut out.
After leaving, Xavier tossed the gun to Mason.
Mason approached Xavier, "Mr. Montgomery, Jared's people have been taken care of by ours."
"Good." Xavier nodded.
He wouldn't come here alone and unarmed. He didn't know what Jared's intentions were in calling him over, so Xavier brought extra people.
Jared's people, who were planted here, had been taken away by Xavier's men. Brittany's hope for rescue was impossible.
Everyone must face consequences for their actions. Bullying, lying, and aiding others all come with a cost.
Although Brittany hadn't directly harmed Grace, she had targeted Grace since childhood, along with Madison, making Grace suffer in the Lewis family.
Brittany had stolen Grace's previous achievements. Those good deeds weren't Brittany's, and she had helped Jared. That was why Brittany deserved to die.
But Xavier didn't have the habit of killing people; he was different from Sterling.
Sterling liked to kill with one blow, but Xavier preferred to make people live in pain for the rest of their lives, barely surviving.
Brittany would be sent abroad, and as long as Xavier was around, she would never return.
Her vocal cords were destroyed; she would never speak again.
As for her leg, Xavier had only fired one shot, but the location was crucial—it was in the bone. Even if it healed, she wouldn't walk normally.
Brittany's life was ruined; she wouldn't have a future, and all her resources were wasted.
...
Since yesterday, Xavier had suspected that Grace was the girl from back then, but now that he knew the truth, he couldn't wait to find her.
He called Grace, and she answered quickly, but her voice was calm.
"Hello?"
"Grace, where are you?" Xavier's voice was tinged with urgency.
He wanted to see her, he wanted to be by her side immediately.
It turned out that he and Grace had such a deep connection. Not only had their mothers arranged a childhood marriage, but Grace was also the girl who had brought him food.
What kind of fate was this, to bring them together so many times without knowing each other?
It was all God's plan; everything was destined.
Xavier had never believed in fate before, but now he did. He felt that he and Grace were meant to be together from the start, despite the obstacles. Once those were dealt with, they would be together.
