Chapter 547 Release Taylor
Brittany pretended to be anxious, "Xavier, I'm begging you, let me see Grace. I want to save my mother."
"Our family is falling apart. My dad has disappeared, my sister has gone mad, and if my mother is sentenced to death, what will we do?"
Brittany held the crystal in her hands, "I don't know if there's a God in this world who can hear me. I've always believed that everyone in the world is kind. I did so many good deeds when I was a child, saved so many people, and now I can't do anything?"
"I believe this crystal was given to me by God to grant my wish at the most critical moment. I just hope my mom will be okay." Brittany's eyes were red, looking truly desperate, praying for God's protection.
Xavier's brain paused briefly, and it took a while for him to recover, still not fully out of his shock.
However, Brittany said, "If it can't save my mom, it's useless to me. I might as well throw it away!"
Saying this, Brittany forcefully threw the crystal to the ground, intending to shatter it.
Xavier reached out and caught the crystal firmly.
"Brittany, you knew all along that it was me behind the wall of that yard, didn't you?" Xavier gripped the item that belonged to his mother, his fingers tightening.
He wasn't a fool. Brittany's act was so obvious, how could he not see through it?
Brittany intercepted him, deliberately dropped the crystal, and then prayed to it. She just wanted him to help her.
Brittany was shocked, "I..."
How did Xavier see through her? Was she that obvious?
No wonder Xavier was so powerful; he really had some skills.
Although Brittany used to disdain him, her opinion changed after meeting Xavier.
"I actually only found out later from Ryan. To me, it was a trivial matter. I gave food to many people back then, helped many homeless people and beggars. I really didn't know it was you."
"Xavier, I have no other way. For the sake of the past, can you save my mom?"
"My mom didn't do it on purpose, and Grace wasn't hurt, right?"
"Grace wasn't hurt by luck. What Taylor did is unforgivable!" This couldn't be mixed together.
Brittany said, "I know, it's all our fault. Xavier, I have just this one wish, help me this once."
"I know you don't want others to know about your past either. I didn't come to blackmail you with the crystal. Otherwise, why didn't I come to you earlier when you were so high and mighty?"
"Similarly, I don't want anyone to know about this from our childhood. Save my mom, clear her of charges, and we'll call it even, as if it never happened."
Xavier's expression was stern, "Fine, I'll get Taylor out, and we'll call it even for the past."
"But you must promise me not to tell anyone about this."
"Why?"
"I don't want Grace to know about this deal. I believe you don't want Grace to misunderstand either."
Xavier frowned.
Brittany knew that the more she explained to someone like Xavier, the more suspicious he would become. It was better to be straightforward; he would agree more readily.
"Give me the crystal." Xavier extended his hand.
Brittany pulled back, "You gave it to me back then, so it's mine now. There's no reason to take it back."
Brittany put the crystal away, "Thank you, Xavier."
Indeed, Xavier had already given it away, and taking it back wouldn't be right.
Xavier got back into the car and told the driver to drive. He was heading to the construction site to take a look.
The land had been signed over, and Xavier had started looking for designers and preparing for construction.
The abandoned buildings needed to be demolished first, and everything was proceeding simultaneously to save more time.
As the car drove off, Xavier called Mason, "Get Taylor out."
"Mr. Montgomery, but the trial is about to start, I'm afraid..."
It wouldn't be easy, and why would Xavier suddenly have such an idea?
"Do as I say."
"Yes." Mason, though puzzled, complied.
Xavier also called Grace, who quickly answered, "Xavier, why are you suddenly asking about that crystal? Did you meet Brittany?"
"I did." Xavier's voice was hoarse.
"She came to ask you to release Taylor, didn't she..."
Before Grace could finish, Xavier said, "Grace, I owe Brittany a favor. Can we let Taylor go this time?"
Grace was stunned. She didn't expect Xavier to owe Brittany a favor.
Grace said, "Taylor only killed Daniel to frame me. For your sake, I can forgive her, but Taylor's murder is a fact. Is it that simple to release a murderer without charges?"
"I'll have someone arrange it."
Although Grace didn't know what had happened between Xavier and Brittany, she trusted Xavier.
"Alright, you can do whatever you decide. I'll support you!"
"Thank you, Grace." Xavier knew Grace was generous. She didn't say anything because she loved and trusted him.
This matter was indeed unfair to Grace.
So he had to be even better to Grace, prepare the wedding faster, and marry her!
Not far away, Brittany watched Xavier's car drive off, swinging the crystal in her hand, feeling very pleased.
She thought, no man could escape her control.
Even Xavier had to listen to her.
She didn't care if Xavier was with Grace now. If she had the chance to take Xavier from Grace, that would be her skill.
And she was waiting for the day Xavier would abandon Grace. Did Grace think she was so proud now? Grace could be so prominent in Skigeth because she hadn't returned yet.
Now that she was back, Grace would be overshadowed like dust, just like in their childhood!
At the abandoned construction site, Xavier arrived and discussed the demolition situation with the construction team. The designer was also on-site, waiting for Xavier to review the renderings and see if any adjustments were needed.
However, as a few people surrounded Xavier, someone suddenly rushed over and punched Xavier hard in the face.
Everyone present was stunned, not knowing what had happened, and couldn't believe someone dared to attack Xavier.
