Chapter 501 Oh No, My Blind Date Was Spotted by Chase
Angela quickly bounced back and the next day, she started a new round of blind dates.
This time, the date was at a restaurant.
The man seemed relatively normal. Although his family was quite ordinary, he was still considered decent, at least without any messy issues.
Angela felt comfortable talking to him.
Moreover, this man was also being pressured by his family to get married quickly.
Angela asked, "Would you accept a contractual marriage? After marriage, we won't interfere with each other's lives, no matter what the other person does. We won't be responsible for each other's physical or psychological needs. The contract lasts for a year, and then we divorce."
The man nodded, "Of course, that's exactly what I'm looking for. But you need to take care of my mother. She has high standards, and she might not be satisfied with someone like you."
Angela didn't care whether she was satisfied or not, since it was all fake anyway. She was delighted, "That's great! When do you have time to go register for marriage?"
The man said, "Anytime, I'm always available."
"Alright, let's do it soon!" Angela was waiting to steal her identity information so she could register for marriage.
Finally, a big weight was lifted off her mind, and Angela was quite happy.
Although the man was quite average-looking, he was a good person.
As they were dining and chatting, a voice suddenly came from behind, "Scott's girlfriend, you're here too!"
Angela was surprised, "Mr. Coleman? Scott?"
"Girlfriend?" The man caught the term in Chase's words.
"Yes, you must be Angela's friend. Hasn't she told you? My grandson is her boyfriend!"
The man looked at Angela in shock and surprise, "You have a boyfriend and you're still going on blind dates?"
Angela was silent.
Chase was also surprised, "Blind date? Angela, what's going on?"
"This can't be explained in just a few words, I..."
Before Angela could finish, Chase started breathing heavily, looking like he had a heart problem.
Scott quickly supported him, "Grandpa!"
Angela was really afraid something might happen to Chase, so she quickly said, "Actually, you misunderstood. I'm not here for a blind date. I'm here on behalf of my sister."
The blind date man looked at Angela, and Angela quickly pulled him aside. "I'm really sorry. Let's reschedule!"
The blind date man was angry, "There won't be a next time!"
He had finally found someone he was barely satisfied with, but it turned out to be a failure.
Angela stood in front of Chase, looking at Scott helplessly. She didn't know what to do.
She and Scott pretended to be a couple, but now this deception seemed to be growing larger.
Scott said, "Grandpa, it's not what you think."
"That's good. You scared me. I thought Scott's girlfriend was gone. Angela, come have lunch with me."
Angela had no choice but to agree reluctantly. During the meal, Chase was particularly nice to Angela, making her feel quite guilty.
After lunch, Angela and Scott took Chase back.
Angela tugged at Scott, signaling him to go downstairs with her.
"Grandpa, I'll walk her down."
Chase was pleased, "Alright, make sure Angela gets home safely."
When they got downstairs, Angela said, "You can't blame me for this. I didn't know you and your grandpa would go to that restaurant and run into us."
"And this isn't a solution. Why don't we tell him we broke up?"
Scott frowned, "No."
He knew Chase's temper and personality too well. Chase just wanted him to be happy and see him settle down.
If he knew Angela married someone else, Chase would definitely be angry and upset.
Chase's health was already poor. He had been in and out of the hospital frequently, and his condition was quite serious.
It was only after finding Grace that his condition improved significantly.
Before finding Grace, the doctors had said Chase's health was very poor and he didn't have much time left, urging them to hurry.
"You know my situation. I need to get married quickly, or the Turner family will arrange a marriage for me. I'd rather choose someone myself."
"A contractual marriage, one year, no interference in each other's lives, no responsibility for each other's physical or psychological needs. Stop immediately if the other person is unwilling. Divorce after one year."
Hearing Scott's words, Angela was stunned, "You eavesdropped on me!"
"I didn't eavesdrop."
"Then what do you mean?" Angela didn't understand.
Scott said, "That's my requirement."
"What?" Angela blinked, not reacting for a moment.
His requirement?
Did he mean?
Angela didn't dare to believe it. Was it what she thought?
"Are you saying, you and I..."
"Yes." Scott said, "Since Grandpa already misunderstood, let's just go with it. I can marry you, but there must be a contract. When we divorce, you can have some of the assets, but you must not cling to me. One year, and then we divorce."
"Who would cling to you? You're overthinking it. I'm more worried about you clinging to me!"
"You don't agree?"
"I agree!" Angela readily agreed. Don't worry; I won't cling to you. Whenever you want a divorce, we'll get divorced."
Scott frowned even more. Why did it seem like Angela was happier about the divorce than the marriage?
"After we get married, Grandpa will inevitably urge us to have children and act in front of him, maybe even share a room. You need to control yourself around me."
"Don't worry, I'm not interested in men like you."
Scott looked like a weak man. She preferred men with abs and a perfect body.
"What did you say?"
"I mean, whatever you say goes!"
Scott said, "Do you have any other requirements?"
"No, I have no other requirements." Scott had already mentioned all her requirements. She knew Scott, this narcissistic man, would be more eager for the divorce than she was.
As soon as the time was up, she would be single again.
She never thought about marrying him, even though she had been on so many blind dates.
She thought it was impossible with Scott, but he actually suggested it.
Actually, Scott was a good choice. At least she knew him well, and as someone who feared women, he wouldn't cling to her. It was a win-win!
"When do we register for marriage?" Angela asked, hoping it would be as soon as possible. What if Scott changed his mind tomorrow?
Scott said, "Anytime."
Angela said, "Then you need to help me with something. You have to help me steal my identity information."
Scott was silent.
