Chapter 032 Grace, You Started This…
Xavier had gone to dry his hair, it was getting late.
He walked into the bedroom and Grace followed him in. He got into bed and pulled back the covers as he lay down.
She wondered to herself, ‘Is Mr. Montgomery not interested in a night of passion?’
"Should I join you?" Grace felt like Xavier didn't seem to be in the mood for lovemaking tonight.
She had never harbored any illusions about Xavier. Growing up around men like Zach who were prone to fooling around, Grace had formed the opinion that men were no good.
Besides, how could she think someone like Xavier would take a genuine interest in her? It was undoubtedly just a matter of compatible sexual chemistry, a simple exchange of needs.
Did Xavier bring her to the hotel just to sleep, of all things?
Xavier opened his eyes and asked, "Are you playing coy now?"
"Of course not. Mr. Montgomery, for all you know, I might just be a loose woman." She had only met Xavier a handful of times, yet they had already slept together twice.
Grace also slid under the covers, but Xavier reached out and turned off the light.
"Sleep," he told her, indifferently.
Grace was bewildered.
The room was pitch dark and eerily silent. Grace blinked, thinking to herself, ‘So, we're truly just going to sleep? But I'm not yet sleepy.’
"Xavier? Are you asleep?" Grace asked tentatively.
Xavier didn't reply, as if he truly had fallen asleep.
Grace didn't believe it and whispered in his ear, "So you brought me here today just to chat under the covers?" Her voice was soft, almost suggestive, and she wasn't even aware of it.
Xavier's intention in bringing Grace over wasn't to do anything indecent.
For the few days that he hadn't seen Grace, his sleep had been terrible. This time, he just wanted to know if his restless sleep had anything to do with Grace.
Yet, he was not tired at all. He couldn't help but think, ‘Relying on a woman to get a good night's sleep? I must be out of my mind.’
Grace kept chattering beside him, and the scent of her body wash mixed with her unique scent lingered and wafted into Xavier's nose.
An ambiguous atmosphere developed, yet Grace was completely clueless.
Grace thought to herself, ‘Is Mr. Montgomery just too tired? He must be almost in his thirties. He's always so busy, probably doesn't have much time to work out.’
"It's rumored that Xavier has had some issues with his performance, and lots of guys are unwilling to admit when they have a problem," Grace remarked.
"Grace!" Xavier turned over, and in the next moment, Grace found herself pinned beneath him. He had intended to ignore her words, but Grace was being too much of a nuisance!
Grace wondered to herself, ‘Did my blunt words just now hurt Mr. Montgomery?’
"Mr. Montgomery, I didn't mean that—it's perfectly normal for a man your age to have a reduced libido," she said, innocently.
"My age?" Xavier was taken aback.
Grace felt like she might have said the wrong thing. Xavier's words seemed to be squeezed through gritted teeth. "I thought after the last two times, you would know well that my age is not an issue."
Grace was trapped and couldn't move. It was like being caught in the territory of a wild beast, unable to escape his grasp.
They were both under the blankets, separated only by their nightwear, and Grace could already feel Xavier's desire.
He truly was extraordinarily gifted!
"It was just something I said without thinking, Mr. Montgomery. Please don't be petty. Since you want to sleep, let's just sleep," Grace said, pushing against his chest.
Her palms felt the heat; he was like a furnace. His rock-hard chest was immovable, like iron.
"Too late!" The next second, Xavier lifted her, not giving Grace a chance to struggle. Like a vampire emerging at midnight, he bit Grace's neck.
In this matter, Xavier was never gentle, especially since Grace had provoked him first. He used to have no interest in women at all, and rarely ever initiated contact or took anyone to bed.
But with Grace, it was like a poppy blooming which made anyone enchanted and addicted to it.
"You..." Xavier paused.
"I... I didn't expect it either," Grace said, her face turning red. Her periods were always regular, but today it came early! She hadn't even noticed when she took a shower.
"Mr. Montgomery... do you have any from last time?" Grace asked, suddenly feeling bashful.
"I threw them away," Xavier said, his expression turning sour.
Last time there was a mix-up, and it turned out he was mistaken. He had the unused items disposed of by room service. And now, by some coincidence, they were needed.
"What do I do now?" Without sanitary products, things will get messy.
Grace thought for a moment and said, "Should I go buy some?" She figured it was the start of her period and the flow wasn't much.
"No, I’ll have someone go get them," Xavier said, preparing to make a call.
"Stop!" Grace halted him. "It's late at night; everyone's asleep. Waking someone up to get this will surely raise eyebrows, and then people might even think I’ve drugged you."
"You? Drug me?" Xavier looked as if he had just heard the funniest joke.
Grace was at a loss for words.
"But I remember seeing a convenience store right next to the hotel when I came," she said, preparing to stand up.
However, her shoulder was held down firmly. "Stay put—don't move!" he commanded.
Grace was taken aback for a second before she saw Xavier rise, seemingly ready to go out and buy it for her. She couldn't believe Xavier would go out to buy sanitary napkins for her.
"What brand do you usually use?" Xavier's voice was impassive.
Grace told him the brand she typically used and said, "Thank you, Mr. Montgomery!"
Soon, she heard the door closing from outside. Grace buried herself in the blankets, her face flushed with embarrassment.
She thought to herself, "If anyone says Mr. Montgomery is a cold-hearted man, I’ll be the first to disagree! If other women knew he was buying this sort of thing for me, I might well become the target of an assassination."
Grace checked, relieved that the bed sheets and blanket were still clean. But she still asked the hotel staff to deliver new bed sheets and a duvet cover, and changed them herself.
While changing the sheets, Grace remembered there were hotel employees who could have gotten the items, negating the need for Xavier to go himself!
When Xavier returned, he not only carried two packs of sanitary napkins, but he had also brought her a pair of underwear.
Grace hadn't expected Xavier to be so thoughtful. She couldn't imagine him in the convenience store, picking out these items.
Grace slipped into the bathroom with a red face. "Thank you, Mr. Montgomery!"
She quickly changed into clean clothes and, upon opening the door, found Xavier outside. "Mr. Montgomery?" she exclaimed in surprise.
He remarked, "Grace, you're the one who seduced me." The desire in Xavier's eyes had not yet faded.
"What?" Grace was puzzled.
Xavier pulled her into the bathroom with him, pinching her chin and running his fingers over her lips with a meaningful look.
"You'll have to take responsibility!"
