Chapter 445 Mr. Montgomery Sneaks Over Again in the Middle of the Night
"Angela is definitely not that kind of person. Don't be prejudiced against her; she's really nice," Grace said, knowing Angela all too well.
Angela had a fiery temper, was straightforward, and very candid.
Doing anything unscrupulous to achieve her goals was something Angela would never do.
"That's hard to say. Look at her family," Scott said, withholding judgment for now, still smarting from a slap.
Grace said, "She's different from her family."
Otherwise, she wouldn't have become such good friends with Angela.
Not long after they drove off, Angela called, worried about what had just happened and wondering if the Turner family had given them any trouble.
Grace said, "We're already on our way back. Let's talk when we get home."
Soon, Grace arrived home, and Angela had already prepared a meal, anxiously waiting.
As soon as Grace returned, Angela rushed up to her and asked, "Grace, did my mom do anything to you?"
Then she looked at Scott, whose cheek still seemed a bit red, like a slap mark.
"Did she hit you?" Angela guessed.
Although she didn't like Scott, Ainsley's actions were too much.
"I'm really sorry. She's got issues. I'm sorry for her. I'm sorry."
Scott was initially very angry, but seeing Angela like this, he couldn't stay mad. After all, her apology was sincere, and today's events had nothing to do with Angela.
"It's okay," Scott said.
Grace also pulled Angela aside, "Angela, Scott isn't mad. He won't take this small matter to heart. Look at the gifts I brought you; I picked them out carefully."
Angela took them, "Thank you, Grace, for thinking of me."
"How could I not think of you? I asked you to come with me to Country E for New Year's, but you didn't go. You must have felt lonely here."
"What's there to feel lonely about? I'm an adult, not a child. I'm used to it. You go sit down; I'll cook to make it up to Scott. I'll make more food today." Angela was ready to start cooking; she had already prepared the ingredients.
Grace said, "No need. Let Scott cook. He's a great cook."
Angela was surprised, "He can cook?"
Grace nodded, "Yes, whoever becomes his girlfriend will be very lucky."
Grace had a lot to talk about with Angela, and Scott knew that, so he had no complaints about cooking.
Angela watched Scott put on an apron. Such a tall man wearing a floral apron looked quite amusing.
Watching him like this, Scott, the narcissist, didn't seem so annoying after all.
That night, Angela and Grace stayed together, while Scott stayed at a hotel next to Grace's house.
Angela and Grace talked a lot, including about meeting the king of Country E.
Angela was excited, "You even met the king! How was he? Is he as handsome as they say? I saw on the news that he's a charming middle-aged man who doesn't look old at all."
Grace thought of Dorian, whom she had seen in person, and nodded, "He is quite handsome!"
They then talked about Xavier, and Grace told Angela that Xavier knew she was pregnant.
"What was his reaction?"
Grace hugged her pillow, "I don't know. I don't know which of his words are true and which are false."
He seemed so genuine, but Grace was scared.
"You still like him, don't you, Grace?"
"I..." The words of denial stuck in her throat; Grace couldn't bring herself to deny it so bluntly.
After handling things with Stephanie, Xavier immediately flew to Country E, thinking Grace would stay there for a while.
When he arrived, he found out that Grace had returned to Skigeth.
Xavier even hoped a little that her return to Skigeth had something to do with him.
Xavier immediately flew back to Skigeth from Country E. Despite the wasted time and the exhaustion of long flights, Xavier didn't feel tired. He even managed to get a lot of work done on the plane.
Xavier went straight to Grace's building. Grace had changed the locks to prevent Xavier from sneaking in again.
But knowing Angela was there, Xavier didn't sneak in.
Angela only stayed with Grace for three days before returning to her own home, which gave Xavier an opportunity.
He missed Grace so much. It had been almost ten days since he last saw her, and he couldn't wait any longer.
So, the night Angela left, he sneaked into Grace's house in the middle of the night.
Even with the new locks, unlocking them was easy for Xavier.
He didn't plan to do anything; he just wanted to see Grace.
It was 2 AM, and Grace was already asleep. The room was pitch dark, and Grace slept quietly, without even a sound of breathing.
Xavier walked in, sat down, and quietly watched Grace.
Just watching her wasn't enough. Xavier moved to the side of her bed, gently held her hand, and kissed the back of it.
Xavier hadn't rested much lately, but seeing Grace safe and sound, he felt content.
People's possessiveness tends to grow stronger. Initially, Xavier just wanted to see her, then he tried to hold her hand, and finally, he climbed into her bed and hugged her.
Grace, fast asleep, knew nothing. Instead, feeling a familiar warmth, she snuggled closer to Xavier.
It wasn't until dawn that Grace woke up and realized something was off.
What was she holding?
She was startled to find a man in her bed!
Looking up, she saw it was Xavier, the habitual midnight intruder!
"Xavier, how did you get in?" Grace pushed him, unsure whether to be surprised. She had clearly changed the locks.
Grace tried to get up, but Xavier pulled her back into his arms.
Xavier's strong arms encircled her, his embrace warm.
"Grace, I'm so tired. Can you stay with me a little longer?" Xavier's voice was thick with exhaustion, sounding like he hadn't rested in a long time and had finally fallen asleep.
His eyes were dark with fatigue, and he had severe sleep issues. He could go 24 hours without sleep...
He buried his face in Grace's neck, his warm breath on her skin stiffening her body.
Grace was initially angry, but seeing Xavier like this, her anger faded, replaced by a bit of pity.
