Chapter 140 Do You Have Different Feelings for Xavier?
Chapter 140 Do You Have Different Feelings for Xavier?
"You are overthinking it. I have no intention of controlling you," Xavier said.
Stephanie was aware that Xavier disliked being touched. She dared not grab his sleeve but suggested, "You always say one thing and mean another. Didn't you come here because of me? Let's go racing. I haven't seen you race in a long time. Can you take me for a ride? I'll sit in the passenger seat."
Grace saw this scene, took Angela by the hand, and said, "Let's go. Let's not disturb them."
"Grace, are you okay?" Angela asked, a bit worried. As Grace's friend, although Grace seemed perfectly normal, she always sensed that Grace's mood was low.
"I'm fine. Why do you ask?" Grace lifted her gaze, her eyes clear and bright, seemingly unaffected.
"It's nothing. It's just that Stephanie is too domineering, always reminding us of something, and her methods are really impressive. She taught Jessica a lesson as soon as she arrived, sending a warning to anyone who wants to get close to Xavier," Angela said.
From the brief encounter, she already felt that Stephanie was not simple. Moreover, Stephanie had the backing of the Park family, and Joseph protected her like a precious gem.
"Just stay away from her," Grace said.
"Grace, have you..."
"No!" Grace denied it quickly.
"I haven't even finished my sentence, and you're already denying it." Grace's subtle reaction made Angela feel something was off.
"Xavier, he..."
"He's definitely a handful," Grace remarked. With so many women drawn to Xavier, it was nothing but trouble for her. Xavier was practically a male vixen!
Although Angela didn't know the details of what had happened between Grace and Xavier, she guessed, "Grace, do you have different feelings for Xavier?"
Angela added, "I'm not necessarily talking about love, just a crush. Xavier is indeed a man who easily makes others' hearts flutter. It wouldn't be surprising if you liked him."
"I don't! Angela, don't say such things. If someone hears, it could cause trouble," Grace replied.
"Alright, let's go get Jessica first!" They needed to deal with Jessica first.
Grace and Angela searched everywhere but couldn't find Jessica. She was definitely hiding, perhaps even gone already, feeling guilty about something.
"Grace, what now? She definitely won't dare to come out."
"Do you have Jessica's phone number?" Grace asked.
Angela replied, "I don't, but I can ask around."
Soon, Angela got Jessica's phone number. Grace sent a message and then said to Angela, "Let's go."
"Where to?" Angela was puzzled, wondering, 'Have they found out where Jessica was?'
"The parking lot," Grace said, walking ahead.
Angela asked, "You know she is in the parking lot?"
"No, I told her to come to."
"Do you think she will show up just because you told her to? She's not stupid." Angela doubted Jessica would show up.
Grace said only one thing, "She will."
Angela inexplicably felt a sense of gravity in Grace's words. She trusted her unconditionally. If she said Jessica would come, then Jessica would definitely come.
At the parking lot, Angela scanned the area but couldn't spot Jessica. She turned to Grace and asked, "Grace, how are you so sure she will come? What did you message her?"
"Quite easy. If she doesn't come, I'll send the photos out," Grace said calmly.
"What photos?" Angela had no idea what photos Grace was talking about.
"Photos Stephanie took."
Angela suddenly understood. Jessica had mistakenly accused Grace of taking the photos, unaware that they were actually taken by Stephanie. So now Grace was using the photos to threaten Jessica, while she would be compelled to show up, fearing the potential release of the photos.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before Jessica hurried over. "Grace! What do you want?"
"What do we want? Jessica, when you tampered with our brakes, did you not think we might not get hurt?" Angela clenched her fists, a strong urge to slap Jessica rising within her.
Jessica bit her lip. "I don't understand what you're talking about."
"It doesn't matter if you don't understand. It's fate since you are here. Why don't you join us for a lap?" Grace's lips curled into a cold smile, uttering, "If you claim you had no part in tampering with our car, then why not take the wheel of this sleek gray race car?"
"No! Why should I?" Jessica's face was full of guilt, and she refused to drive no matter what.
Grace and Angela were lucky, but if she had driven this car, she might not have been so fortunate. This was a race car; no one dared drive it without brakes.
Having just witnessed everything from the stands, Jessica was nearly petrified. The thought of driving the car now filled her with absolute dread.
"Grace, what's wrong with your car? Do you have any evidence to accuse me?" Jessica would never admit it.
Grace directly opened the driver's door and sat in the driver's seat of the gray sports car. "You either get in, or I send the photos out. Your choice."
Jessica bit her lip hard. Those were her nude photos. If they were sent out, she wouldn't be able to live. 'Since Grace dares to get in the car, why shouldn't she?'
So Jessica chose to get in and sat in the passenger seat. She hadn't even fastened her seatbelt when the car sped off.
Jessica clung tightly to the car door, terrified out of her wits. Grace drove at a breakneck speed and asked, "Was it you who tampered with the brakes?"
Before Jessica could answer, Grace said, "I advise you to think it over before you speak. If you lie, I don't mind going faster. If we crash into the guardrail or flip over, neither of us will escape."
"I don't care, but Miss. Cole, you might not born in such a privileged family background in your next life. Even if you don't die, you'll be disabled and spend the rest of your life in bed, "Grace added.
As she spoke, Grace indeed sped up. Everything around them blurred like a phantom.
Grace's driving was particularly unstable, constantly drifting. Jessica felt like she could be thrown out at any moment.
Jessica's face turned pale, as if she were scared out of her wits. The speed made her feel nauseous.
"It was me! I had someone cut the brakes on your and Angela's cars. Grace, you may not care about your life, but I do. Slow down!"Jessica shouted.
Grace said, "You know the brakes are broken; I can't slow down."
At a sharp turn ahead, Grace deliberately aimed for it. "Oops, we're going to crash!"
Seeing the guardrail so close, Jessica's eyes rolled back, and she fainted from fear.
Just a second before the crash, Grace yanked the steering wheel, executing a perfect drift and making the turn smoothly.
After two laps, Grace stopped in the parking lot. Angela rushed over. "Grace, where's Jessica?"
"She fainted," Grace said.
This gray car was just similar to the one she initially drove, but it wasn't the same. The brakes were fine; Grace had deliberately misled Jessica to scare her. Who would have thought Jessica was so easily frightened?
"Angela, I'm going to change my clothes," Grace said, deciding not to race anymore and wanting to change her clothes first.
"Go ahead. I'll take some pictures of Jessica's pathetic state," Angela said, taking out her phone.
Grace went to the changing room alone. As soon as she entered, a tall figure followed her in, covering her mouth and dragging her into a nearby stall.
