Chapter 278 Steven Has a Fiancée
"Isn't it? Then how did you end up in Skigeth?" Angela retorted.
"I..." Scott stammered. "None of your business."
"It really isn't my business. Grace, let's go." Angela pulled Grace along.
Grace nodded. "Okay."
Just as Angela and Grace were about to leave, a steady voice came from the other side. "Ms. Lewis."
"Steven!" The sight of Steven gave Grace an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
Angela's gaze shifted towards Steven, who possessed a tall and commanding stature, coupled with a touch of handsomeness. His facial features exuded a sense of depth and stability, and a single glance from him had the power to send her heart racing.
Steven's slicked-back hair showcased a broad forehead, and the addition of glasses lent him an intellectual air.
Angela blushed slightly. This Steven was just too handsome!
But did Grace know them?
"Are you sick?" Steven asked, his voice slightly hoarse.
Grace shook her head. "No, it's Xavier who's in the hospital."
Steven nodded. "I see."
Grace asked, "Why are you at the hospital? Visiting someone, or..."
"Steven is the one who's sick." Scott came over. "He's not feeling well, so I brought him to the hospital."
Scott glanced at Angela's flushed face and then said, "Don't indulge in your fantasy. Steven is already engaged."
Angela glared at Scott. "Why are you so annoying?"
"Scott!" Steven said in a low voice, looking at him, and Scott finally shut up.
Grace asked, "Are you sick? What did the doctor say?"
Steven replied, "It's nothing, just a cold. Scott is just overly worried."
"Then you don't need to be hospitalized, right?" Grace asked.
"No, just some IV fluids and medication will do," Steven said. "You guys go ahead with your business."
Grace nodded. "The weather here is quite unstable. Even though it's summer, you still need to watch the temperature. It's easy to get heatstroke when it's hot."
Steven said, "Yes, I know."
Angela chimed in, "Alright, if we get a chance next time, let's have a meal together!"
However, Scott said coldly, "I told you your intentions are obvious. You still want to have a meal together next time?"
Angela said, "I invited Steven for a meal, not you. Steven didn't say anything, but you are still chattering."
Scott was at a loss for words.
Steven agreed. "Sure."
"Then we're leaving. Bye." Angela waved.
Grace also waved. "Goodbye."
As Steven observed Grace and Angela depart, his gaze settled on Grace. He couldn't shake the feeling that her eyes bore a resemblance to those of his late aunt.
He had been in Skigeth for a few days and even got sick, as if God was keeping him here. Could his aunt be in Skigeth?
After Grace and Angela walked away, Angela asked, "Grace, do you know those two?"
Grace replied, "Sort of. Last time, Xavier and I attended a party and greeted them. They are brothers. The older one is Steven, and the other is Scott. They seem to have just returned from abroad."
Angela said, "Steven, his name sounds nice, and he looks like someone who does big things. As for that Scott, why is he so annoying!"
Angela always felt that Scott was overly narcissistic, thinking everyone wanted to get close to him.
"Maybe it's because of their different living environments. With their status, there must be many women trying to get close to them, so Scott might have that kind of mindset," Grace said.
Angela nodded. "That'strue. Even so many women tries to get close to Omari, let alone someone who looks wealthier like Scott. But he really is annoying, like a lunatic."
"Then don't think about him. By the way, what do you plan to eat for lunch?" Grace asked.
Angela said, "Not sure; I haven't decided yet."
Grace inquired, "Do you want to cook together?"
"You want to cook for Mr. Montgomery, right?" Angela saw through her.
Grace said, "Not entirely for him."
Angela said, "Alright, let's go. We can buy groceries and take a walk."
Grace and Angela went to the supermarket together and bought a lot of groceries. Angela asked, "Can we finish all this food with just a few of us?"
Grace said, "I thought since Scott and Steven are also at the hospital, and Steven's IV will take a long time, we might as well make more food for them to try. They probably don't have any family here in Skigeth, so I intend to buy a bit more groceries."
Angela nodded. "I'll help too."
Grace and Angela made a lot of food together. Since Angela was there, there was naturally a portion for Omari as well.
After they finished cooking, Grace and Angela brought the food to the hospital.
In the IV ward, Steven's IV was almost done. Grace brought the food over. "Steven."
"Isn't Scott here?" Grace asked.
"He went to the restroom," Steven replied.
Angela and I have made extra food while cooking. Since you rarely come to Skigeth, try some of the local specialties."
Steven didn't expect Grace to cook herself and even bring them a portion.
"Thank you," said Steven.
"My pleasure, as long as you don't mind." Grace placed the insulated lunch box in front of Steven.
"Then we'll leave, bye!" After putting it down, Grace pulled Angela away.
Grace's gesture was her way of showing kindness, but it might not be a good thing for Steven. What if Steven didn't want to eat it? With them there, Steven wouldn't know how to handle it.
If they left quickly, even if Steven threw it away, they could assume Steven ate it.
"Thank you." Steven's voice came from behind.
Angela said, "This Steven is quite polite and handsome, unlike that Scott. Seeing him just makes me annoyed."
"Who are you calling annoying?" A voice suddenly came from not far away.
Angela turned to look. It was Scott!
She pulled Grace. "Let's go, let's go. Seeing him brings bad luck!"
Scott snorted coldly. Grace and Angela came to find Steven again!
Scott walked into the IV room. "Steven, are they pestering you again?"
"They brought food. Come and try it." Steven had already opened the lid. The variety of dishes was extensive, and it was evident that they had put a lot of effort into it.
Scott said, "This food looks quite good. They have no reason to be so nice to you. I always feel they have ulterior motives, especially that talkative woman!"
Steven handed him a pair of utensils. "When will you get over your prejudice against women? Has your childhood trauma affected you this much? Should I take you to see a psychologist?"
Scott said, "I'm not mentally ill."
Scott tried the food. It was delicious!
Scott said, "Steven, this is quite good." He had to admit that Grace was an excellent cook. He had tasted countless delicacies, but this was different from anything he had eaten before.
Steven nodded. "Yes."
When Angela and Grace went upstairs, they saw Omari and Xavier outside the ward. They were each sitting on a chair at the door, the atmosphere suffocating. Because no one spoke to each other and neither went into the room.
Omari sat upright. His back was straight, and his face was full of disdain.
Xavier looked much more relaxed, with his legs crossed and his gaze level. He emitted an aura of strength and confidence, as if he were not sitting in a hospital corridor but rather in an office overseeing a vast cityscape.
