Chapter 397 Did Xavier Bully You?
After wrapping up the chat about the Montgomery family, the test results were almost ready.
Grace and the Coleman family had a high DNA match, proving they were related by blood.
Grace's eyes welled up with tears.
She never thought she'd find Evelyn's family, let alone be part of the Coleman clan.
They'd missed so many chances, thinking it was impossible each time.
Now, with Evelyn's ashes here, they were finally reunited.
Even the men of the Coleman family had tears in their eyes.
They'd searched for so long and finally found Elizabeth and her daughter.
From the first time Oakworth met Grace, Steven thought her eyes looked familiar. Later, at that fashion show they attended, they saw Grace again, who was then a model, but Xavier intervened and stopped them.
They'd looked into Grace's background and thought it was impossible for her to be their sister because Elizabeth had never been to Skigeth, and Grace's mom Evelyn had a clean background, so they didn't think in that direction.
Last time they went to the hospital for identification, due to some hospital issues, they missed the chance to recognize each other and almost mistook someone else for their sister.
"Grace, you really are our sister!" Scott's hands were shaking.
Grace wiped her tears and sobbed, "So my grandfather is still alive, and I have three brothers."
Steven nodded, "Yeah, you also have an uncle and aunt. They'll be thrilled to know we found you."
"But I don't get it. If you knew my mom was pregnant, am I not Zach's daughter?" Grace was getting more confused.
"Probably not. Elizabeth and Zach might have just had a deal," Steven explained.
Grace suddenly understood why Zach had never liked her and why he had no affection for Evelyn.
"Then who is my real father?" Grace asked, looking hopeful.
Steven and the others shook their heads. "We don't know. Aunt never mentioned it."
Grace's curiosity grew even stronger. Evelyn was hiding such a big secret; she was indeed the long-lost Elizabeth the Coleman family had been searching for. But why did she hide her true identity and marry someone like Zach? Evelyn even set aside a lot of money for her own wedding, yet she wanted Grace to marry Ryan.
There were too many questions, and Grace couldn't figure them out.
Grace wanted to understand what happened between Evelyn and Xavier's mom. She never believed Evelyn could have driven Xavier's mom to her death. If only Evelyn were still around, everything could be easily resolved, but Evelyn had been gone for many years.
"I have a family now!" Grace was genuinely happy.
She felt a sense of closeness when she met the Coleman family, and it turned out they were indeed family.
The Coleman family members were also very happy. The only girl in the Coleman family was finally found, and Chase wanted to announce it to the whole world.
Steven also asked Grace if she'd be willing to go public with the media, declaring that Grace was now part of the Coleman family, and anyone who dared to bully Grace would be going against the Coleman family.
Grace preferred to keep a low profile and didn't want to be so flashy. She was already very happy to find her family and didn't need the whole world to know.
Moreover, Evelyn had always hidden her appearance and lived incognito, so there must have been a reason. There were too many mysteries, and it was better not to be too high-profile.
The Coleman family listened to Grace and wanted to spoil her as much as they could.
Grace must have gone through a lot over the years, and it broke their hearts.
"Grace, can... can you call me Grandpa?" Chase asked, his eyes filled with tears.
"Grandpa." Grace not only called him that but also gave Chase a big hug.
Chase was over the moon.
Grace then looked at her three brothers and called them by their names.
This was a long-overdue acknowledgment of her brothers, and they were all thrilled to finally find their sister Grace.
Steven thought for a moment and then asked, "I remember when Scott and I were at the hospital, you went to care for Xavier, didn't you? How are things between you two now?"
Mentioning Xavier brought back all the feelings Grace had temporarily pushed aside.
She shook her head and said sadly, "Nothing much, we broke up."
Steven and the others' eyes turned sharp, and they asked in unison, "Did he hurt you?"
Seeing how protective they were, Grace was really touched.
But she didn't want to talk too much about her relationship with Xavier.
She shook her head and explained, "No, we broke up amicably. We're all adults, each taking what we need. You can think of it as me using him as a tool to break off the engagement. I used him."
She felt that if she talked about her relationship with Xavier, her brothers would definitely go after him.
Xavier's influence might be even greater, and it wouldn't be good for the Coleman family.
Moreover, Xavier hated Evelyn so much. If he knew she and Evelyn were part of the Coleman family, Xavier wouldn't spare them either.
Grace didn't want the Coleman family to get into trouble because of her, and she and Xavier were already over.
Grace felt that things were quite good now. Maybe after a stroke of bad luck came a twist of fate; losing Xavier had brought her a wealth of loving family members.
As for the child in her belly, Grace decided to schedule an appointment in a couple of days to terminate the pregnancy.
The Coleman family didn't suspect anything. Steven nodded, "That's good. Someone like him deserves to be used by you. If he dares to hurt you, just tell us, and we'll back you up."
"Thank you!" Grace smiled.
Grace came to understand that this was the feeling of being unconditionally supported by family. The familial bond she had longed to experience since childhood was, in truth, profoundly warm.
Xavier had been following Grace all the way and knew she entered a hotel and didn't come out.
Xavier checked and found that Grace might have gone to see the Coleman family.
The Coleman brothers weren't bad people, and the people Xavier had stationed in Skigeth told him about the recent events there.
Patrick's plan, Xavier knew Wendy was a fake, but he didn't interfere.
He sat in the car, smoking a cigarette. These past few days, Xavier had smoked excessively. Unwittingly, he had exhausted his supply of cigarettes kept in the car. Yet, an indescribable heaviness lingered in his heart, and nicotine no longer seemed to bring him any semblance of calm.
His bloodshot eyes were terrifying, and Xavier looked utterly haggard.
Not to mention that Xavier hadn't rested much during this period, and he hadn't slept at all in the past two days. Last night, he stayed by Grace's side, not wanting to blink.
But for Xavier, being able to spend a night with Grace was already a blessing from God.
Xavier was brought back to reality by the ringing of his phone. He picked it up; it was Mason calling.
"Speak," Xavier's voice was extremely hoarse.
Mason's voice came through the phone. "Mr. Montgomery, there's been another incident."
