Chapter 85 Xavier Needs to Step In
"I don't care where you are; come back right now!" Zach's hand trembled uncontrollably.
The plan, which seemed foolproof, had run into Grace.
He knew Grace too well; once she made up her mind, no one could change it.
She was someone who couldn't be persuaded, threatened, or bribed, and when she got tough, she wouldn't even acknowledge her parents.
The fact that she had been able to send him to jail last time showed just how tough she could be.
Zach's reaction to Grace couldn't have been more familiar. "But that's your own daughter!"
It implied that Zach might have indeed betrayed Madison.
Since she was young, Zach had been indifferent towards her, so he wanted Grace to forgive Tom for money. She felt that this was something Zach was capable of doing.
Zach spoiled Madison since she was young, and now he could even sell her for money, especially since that person had reached the point of being able to be Madison's grandfather.
Zach, this person, had really become bad to a certain extent.
"I don't understand what you're saying. How would I know about Madison's whereabouts? I'll ask her to come back soon. You come back too!"
"Zach, you really will do anything for money. Do you deserve to be a father?"
"Don't think I don't know what you're up to. Now, tell me the room number, or I'll call the cops right now. It won't be easy for you when the police arrive," Grace quickly calmed down.
Madison was certainly detestable and despicable, but when such things happened right in front of Grace's eyes, she couldn't just pretend she hadn't seen anything.
If Madison volunteered, she wouldn't care.
But if it was forced, she also went through it and couldn't look the other way.
Just from bumping into Madison in the parking lot earlier to her waiting for Ryan to arrive and then ordering food to eat, a long time has already passed.
Grace was worried that it was too late for everything now.
Zach still refused to say, "I don't know what you're talking about."
After saying that, Zach hung up the phone directly.
Although Zach didn't mention the room number, his tone already indicated that something had indeed happened.
Ryan caught up and said, "Grace, what's gotten into you? I'm telling you, if you're thinking about getting a room with me, I won't agree to it!"
Ryan thought Grace had something urgent, but then he saw Grace heading towards this hotel.
And after all the drama of pretending to be uninterested in him and wanting to back out of the marriage, is this not an eagerness to immediately book the room?
Grace couldn't care less about Ryan right now. The security at the five-star hotel was very strict - without a room key or guests giving prior notice, she couldn't even get upstairs.
She could only go to the front desk to try. Grace said to the front desk lady, "Hello, my father Zach had a room here before. He asked me to pick up something, but he didn't give me the room key. Could you help me open the door?"
"Your father? We need to make a phone call to confirm."
"He can't answer the phone right now as he's on a plane, but I can tell you his social security number."
Ryan became even more puzzled when he realized that Grace wasn't there to book a room. "Grace, what are you up to?"
"Mr. Ryan Montgomery," the front desk recognized Ryan and greeted him respectfully.
"Ryan, I didn't have time to explain to you. Are you acquainted with the personnel of this establishment?" Grace nearly overlooked this young master; no effort should be wasted!
"Of course, I am a regular here," Ryan said proudly.
"Sure, let me ask Zach which room he booked. It's important!"
"What are you up to? The way you look, it's like you're going to catch a cheater. At your dad's age, it's pretty normal to have two girlfriends, right?" Ryan teased.
"I don't have time to joke around with you. Just ask me quickly!"
"Is this your attitude when asking for help?"
Even when asking for favors, Grace is still so fierce.
"What do you want then?"
"I have conditions. You will not be allowed to harass me or call or message me. The farther away from me, the better."
Grace fell silent.
She pondered that she had hardly ever called or messaged Ryan, never harassed him, let alone been close to Ryan. It was always Ryan who came to her.
"I agree." Grace didn't consider at all.
Ryan tapped on the front desk counter as if exuding charm. Then he winked at the front desk lady and said, "Hello, could you help me check which room Zach is in?"
He is about to show Grace his strength. He will definitely have no problem stepping up.
I was afraid that my charm was too strong and that Grace might develop a crush on me later.
"Hello, which room did Zach open?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Ryan Montgomery, we can't disclose the guest's information casually."
"Listen up, I'm Ryan Montgomery."
"Mr. Ryan Montgomery was really sorry, but the hotel had its rules."
Ryan was rejected, and he couldn't bear the embarrassment. Wasn't this making him lose face in front of Grace?
"I called my dad." Ryan went straight to get the paramedics. He was determined to find out today, no matter what, or else how could he ever hold his head up in front of Grace? Grace would think he couldn't even handle such a small matter and look down on him.
Grace was speechless.
However, when Ryan mentioned Patrick, Grace thought of someone perhaps he could have a solution.
When Xavier's phone rang, he was hosting an international conference.
Although DG Group was headquartered in Oakworth, it had already expanded globally, with branches in most countries.
Due to the difference in time zones, certain meetings necessitate evening sessions.
When Xavier saw the caller ID showing Grace, he paused the meeting.
"Hello?" The cool, thin voice carried a hint of dry hoarseness.
What happened when Grace called him at that point?
Some time ago, Ryan arranged for bodyguards to protect Grace secretly. However, after Tom was sentenced and everything settled down, he dismissed all the bodyguards.
"Xavier, there's something I'd like to ask for your help with."
"Speak."
Grace described the process and her speculation roughly and wanted to ask Xavier if there was a way to find out the room number.
Xavier knew that Daniel had also arrived in Skigeth. This old lecher liked young, pretty girls and enjoyed keeping a bunch of mistresses. It was no secret in Oakworth.
"Didn't you have a bad relationship with Madison? Wasn't she always targeting you? Why would you still help her?"
"Even if a bad person faces retribution, it should be through legal punishment rather than this kind of punishment. Once this happens, the shadow in her heart is something that can never be erased for a lifetime, and she is just an ordinary girl," said Grace.
Xavier wasn't surprised by Grace's words; he just didn't know if a person like Madison could make up for Grace's endeavors.
"Okay, got it."
After hanging up the phone, Xavier immediately dialed another number.
Grace was waiting there, and not long after, the front desk phone rang.
"Hello, yes, sure, sure," answered the receptionist.
The receptionist was greatly surprised. How did this girl manage to make the chairman personally call to inquire about Zach's room number? Is she acquainted with the Chairman?
