Chapter 524 If You Can Talk, Talk More
When the news broke, chaos erupted everywhere.
The guests began whispering, "What's going on? Did the bride commit suicide?"
"No way, is the wedding turning into a funeral?"
"What's happening? Was she forced into this marriage? I never heard Edith was getting married. Should we call the police?"
Angela heard the news and immediately grabbed Scott, "Let's go check it out."
It wasn't even noon yet, and Edith was still in the backstage dressing room, where she had been getting ready since the morning.
The Ross family members also rushed over, and the dressing room quickly filled with people.
Edith had slit her wrists, and bloodstains were dripping onto her white wedding dress, making a stark contrast.
"Edith, Edith!" Zander shook her, but Edith didn't respond.
"Call an ambulance, call an ambulance!"
Edith was taken to the hospital. The Ross family didn't want to accompany her, and no one from the Turner family went either. Ainsley and Cruz stayed behind to handle the mess.
What was supposed to be a joyous wedding had turned into a chaotic scene.
"This is so unlucky. Dealing with the Turner family is a disaster. The Ross family has never experienced anything like this. Listen to what people are saying outside. They're accusing the Ross family of forcing her into prostitution, saying it was the Ross family's fault. This wedding is off. You must return the gifts. The Turner family deceived us, and you'll pay for this!"
Ainsley wasn't backing down, "We registered the marriage a few days ago, and now all the guests are here. You can't just call off the wedding. You're already married. Do you think the Turner family's daughter isn't a person? You're remarried, and this is Edith's first marriage. You're already considered a couple!"
Edith couldn't possibly get divorced and remarried just two days after the wedding, right?
And with things in such a mess, it was clearly the Ross family's fault.
"What do you mean by this, playing dirty?" Echo cursed directly.
Ainsley said, "I was against Edith marrying into your family from the start. It was the Ross family who insisted. Now you're the ones who don't want her. Who do you think you are? Everything has to go your way? If not, we'll call the police and let them investigate whether this marriage is valid!"
"You..." Echo was furious.
"The Turner family is a curse to anyone who gets involved with them. How can there be people like you!"
Ainsley said, "Isn't the Ross family the same? You caused Edith to end up like this. If anything happens to her, the Ross family will be murderers, and I'll sue you!"
"You sue me? The Turner family is no good either. I heard your daughter is an unwanted slut, tangled up with her own brother. There were even videos online!"
"How dare you!" This hit Ainsley's sore spot, and she immediately lost her temper.
"You know whether I'm telling the truth. The Turner family raised a daughter like Edith, so you're no good either. Who knows who fathered your child? Your whole family is disgusting."
Ainsley slapped Echo, who retaliated by grabbing Ainsley's hair.
These two women, who usually cared so much about their image, were now fighting in the lounge, completely disregarding their dignity.
They pulled each other's hair and fought viciously, like two shrews.
Even those who wanted to intervene couldn't get in to stop them.
And their words were getting nastier by the minute.
Angela stood at the door, watching the spectacle unfold.
She even took out some snacks from her bag and offered them to Scott, "Want some?"
Scott remained silent.
In such a situation, Angela still had the mind to eat snacks.
"What's with that look? Watching a good show isn't complete without snacks!"
Angela really loved scenes like this. As the saying goes, bad people always get their comeuppance.
Seeing the Turner family in such a state made her feel incredibly satisfied.
"I don't enjoy watching drama," Scott said.
He wasn't interested in any of this. If Angela hadn't dragged him along, he wouldn't have come at all.
Seeing Scott's lack of interest and the increasing number of people trying to get inside, Angela decided to leave.
Although she was protecting Scott, some women were still trying to get close to him.
Angela grabbed Scott's hand, "Let's go."
If Scott was uncomfortable, she wouldn't stay to watch.
Angela took Scott and went to find Grace, planning to have a meal at her place.
It was the weekend, and no one was working. Grace was at home.
They arrived just in time as Xavier had just finished cooking.
Angela said, "Mr. Montgomery is cooking today? I won't be polite then."
"Weren't you attending a wedding?" Grace asked, resting her chin on her hand.
Angela said, "What's the point of attending her wedding? I'll celebrate when you two get married!"
Xavier hadn't planned on inviting Angela to dine, but seeing how well she spoke, he decided to cook a few more dishes.
"You guys go chat. I'll make some more food," Xavier said, tying his apron.
He was tall, and even in an apron in the kitchen, he had a unique aura. With his looks, he could be the most handsome chef.
Angela nudged Scott, "Look at Grace's husband. He's so considerate. Why don't you go help?"
Scott said, "He's not Grace's husband yet."
Just because Grace forgave him didn't mean the Coleman family had.
Despite saying that, Scott went into the kitchen. The Coleman family had taught him well in this regard.
With Xavier and Scott in the kitchen, Grace's house, though not small, felt a bit crowded.
Meanwhile, Angela pulled Grace aside and started gossiping about the Turner and Ross families.
Angela was eager to share, and Grace was the perfect listener.
"You should have seen the Ross and Turner families fighting. I should have recorded it. You've met my mom, right? She's always so dignified, but now she's like a madwoman. It's terrifying."
"Edith chose to commit suicide. Does she really think she can escape this way? She won't die. She's just trying to scare the Turner and Ross families. She doesn't even know that the Turner family never intended to keep her. When she wakes up, she might go straight to the Ross Mansion. And after this mess, the Ross family will like her even less."
"She probably won't have a good life ahead."
