Chapter 526 Fulfilling Her Every Need
Grace and Xavier didn't return until nine in the evening. Grace was a bit tired, so she went to rest after washing up.
Xavier said he had work to do and then went into Grace's study.
In the study, Xavier made a call to Mason.
The call was quickly answered, and Mason's voice came through, "Mr. Montgomery."
"There's an unfinished building in downtown Skigeth. I want you to buy it."
Mason quickly checked, "But that property is priced quite high because the developer went bankrupt and is trying to recoup costs. It's also particularly difficult to develop, so many eager developers have given up on it. However, I found out that it seems to have been bought recently."
"Who bought it?" No matter who bought it, Xavier intended to buy it from them, regardless of the price.
"It was..." Mason hesitated, seemingly unsure how to say it.
"Who was it?" Xavier asked.
Could there be something that can't be said?
"It was Sterling."
Xavier fell silent.
If it was Sterling, it would indeed be difficult to negotiate. After all, Sterling and he were not on good terms. The DG Group and the Wallace Group were competitors, always vying for projects.
If Sterling had acquired the property, Xavier would have no way to take it from him.
"What does the Wallace Group plan to do with it?"
"I heard they plan to redevelop it into housing, aiming to create a high-end residential area, the most upscale in Skigeth."
This meant that the Wallace Group would invest a significant amount of money, making it unlikely they would easily let it go.
"Find a way to make the Wallace Group give up the property, no matter the cost."
"Mr. Montgomery, are you planning to build a residential area?" Mason was still unclear about Xavier's intentions.
If they spent so much money to acquire it, it might not be profitable. Even if they could buy it, the additional cost was uncertain, though Xavier might not care about the money.
"No, a park."
"A park?" Mason was surprised.
This was a prime downtown location, ideal for office buildings or residential areas that could generate some return.
Building a park would mean not earning a single dollar and investing a lot of money, making it a losing proposition, potentially costing hundreds of millions.
Why did Xavier suddenly have this idea? He was a businessman who never let himself suffer losses, so why start doing charity now?
"Mr. Montgomery, building a park would be very costly."
"Yes, just build a park." Xavier never wavered.
He wanted to recreate the scene Grace saw as a child, to rebuild the memories she had with her mother.
Xavier also asked Mason to find out what the place looked like before it became an unfinished building and to replicate it according to Grace's memories.
Of course, if Xavier took action, it would only be better.
Hearing Xavier's description, Mason knew that this park had to be built.
Xavier's idea was undoubtedly because of Grace.
"Okay, I'll make the arrangements."
"Also, arrange the travel schedule properly. I don't want to waste a minute outside."
"Yes."
"Assign more people in Skigeth to secretly protect Grace's safety. Keep an eye on anyone dangerous, especially Jared."
He always felt that Jared's appearance had a more complicated purpose.
"Yes."
"Where is Sterling?" Xavier asked a few more questions.
"He hasn't been in Skigeth for the past two days. It seems he's in Oakworth."
"Okay." Actually, Xavier wasn't that opposed to Sterling being in Skigeth because he knew Sterling had no chance.
He wasn't the least bit jealous.
Xavier had only one request: for Mason to arrange for Grace's protection.
However, Scott was also in Skigeth, and Xavier believed Scott would protect Grace as well.
Xavier's eyelids twitched a few times. Every time he left Grace's side, he felt uneasy.
After handling these matters, it was already late at night.
He rubbed his temples, then stood up and walked to the bedroom.
Only a small bedside lamp was on in the bedroom, and Grace was already asleep on the bed.
Grace had her eyes closed, her long eyelashes looking long and curled. Her beautiful long hair was spread out on the pillow, with half of her face buried in it. The scene was peaceful and beautiful.
Xavier watched quietly, not wanting to blink.
He had never thought that one day, a woman would move his heart so much that he wouldn't want to go anywhere, just wanting to be by her side.
Xavier couldn't help but reach out and lightly touch Grace's cheek. His fingers brushed over Grace's lips, feeling the soft, warm sensation beneath his fingertips.
Thinking about the upcoming days apart, Xavier couldn't help but lean down and kiss Grace's lips.
He didn't intend to wake Grace, just wanted to kiss her.
Grace wasn't sleeping deeply. She felt something soft and ticklish, and her eyes slowly opened.
In the dim light, she saw the face close to hers. Grace's lips moved, "Xavier."
Her voice was low, and she might have been drowsy, but she accurately called his name.
Xavier couldn't hold back anymore. When Grace called his name, she opened her lips, giving Xavier the opportunity to kiss her deeply, his breath enveloping Grace.
Grace reached out and hooked her arms around Xavier's neck.
Grace was too proactive, making Xavier want to do something right now.
Originally, he didn't plan to trouble Grace, especially since Grace was recently pregnant. Xavier hadn't fully enjoyed himself each time, always restraining himself.
Even now, no matter how much he wanted Grace, he didn't dare to do anything to her.
Xavier forced himself to stop kissing Grace, or he really wouldn't be able to control himself.
He placed his large hand on Grace's head, his fingers touching her hair, "Sleep, I'll stay with you."
"What time is it, and you're still not sleeping?" Grace half-closed her eyes, looking at him, her long eyelashes fluttering.
Her eyes were always beautiful, making his heart race.
"I need to take a shower. You sleep first." Xavier's voice was low and hoarse.
Grace glanced down and saw Xavier's bulging area. She knew exactly why he needed to shower.
"Mr. Montgomery is quite the gentleman." Grace smiled, now fully awake and no longer sleepy.
She reached out, grabbed Xavier's collar, and pulled him close. Then she hooked her arms around Xavier's neck.
Her lips slightly parted, her eyes sparkling like stars, "But I want you."
