Chapter 488 Kiss Me
Grace booked the restaurant, a place with a distinct Skigeth style.
Grace didn't book a private room; otherwise, she wouldn't be able to explain things if something happened. Although they were in the main hall, Sterling didn't seem to mind much.
It was clear that he wasn't an arrogant person.
The food was served quickly, and Grace and Sterling ate together while chatting.
Grace knew that someone like Sterling probably didn't have many friends. The fact that he came to her meant he considered her a friend.
Especially since Sterling sought her out today, she had checked earlier and found out that today was Sterling's birthday, which is why she agreed to dine with him.
However, Sterling didn't seem to want to bring it up, so Grace didn't mention it either. They just talked about other things, work, and random topics.
Soon, the meal was over.
Grace checked the time and saw a message from Xavier saying he was already outside.
Grace originally planned to pay the bill quietly, but she was told it had already been settled.
"Why did you do that? I said I would treat you."
Sterling chuckled, "Next time."
"Who knows when that will be."
Sterling said, "Then I'll owe you."
"Who will remember that later, and who knows how much it will be?" Grace hadn't kept track, and it wouldn't be good if she forgot later.
Actually, he was already quite happy today.
"It's getting late," Grace said.
"Stay a bit longer," Sterling knew Xavier was outside.
"Wait here for me," Grace said, "Don't leave, just stay here."
With that, Grace went outside.
Sterling didn't know where Grace went, but he waited. Soon, Grace returned with a cake in one hand and holding someone with the other.
At that moment, Sterling felt a pang in his heart.
He didn't expect Grace to know.
"I saw online that today is your birthday. I wasn't sure if it was true, so I got you a cake. Happy birthday. I know you don't like those formalities, so I kept it simple."
"Sterling, if you ever need help, you can call me anytime. If you want to drink or play cards, you can always find me and Xavier. If you come to Skigeth, you can hang out with us."
Xavier, standing beside them, had a cold expression. Grace nudged him, "Say something, too."
Xavier just nodded, "Okay."
Sterling sneered.
"You got it wrong. Today isn't my birthday, and you don't need to pity me." Sterling's eyes were unreadable, but today was indeed his birthday.
Every year on this day, Sterling would stay home, but today, he suddenly wanted to find Grace. They played cards all afternoon and had dinner together.
Grace said, "If it's not today, then I'm wishing you a happy birthday in advance. And I'm not pitying you. I mean it, we're all friends."
Sterling looked at Xavier, "Can I really find you anytime?"
Before Grace could speak, Xavier said, "Just find me."
"If you want to drink or play cards, come to me. Don't bother her!"
Sterling laughed, "Why would I find you? Grace said I could find her anytime. She meant it. I'll take the cake."
Sterling took the cake, "I'm leaving."
Grace was about to leave, too, but Xavier pulled her back, "What, you want to see him off?"
Grace was silent.
This road wasn't exclusive to Sterling. How was she seeing him off?
Grace pretended not to understand the jealousy, "Aren't you going out?"
"I haven't had dinner yet."
"What do you want to eat?"
"Never mind, I'll just stay hungry. No one to eat with anyway."
Grace was silent.
"If you don't want to eat, then let's go home."
"Eat, why not!"
"What do you want to eat?" Grace asked.
Xavier sat down and called the waiter, "Bring this whole table of dishes again."
Grace was silent.
Grace accompanied Xavier to eat again, but she had just eaten and wasn't very hungry.
But it didn't matter if she accompanied Xavier to eat.
The waiters whispered, "I tell you, this woman has some tricks. She just ate with one man, and now there's another super handsome man!"
Xavier also didn't eat much. After eating a bit, Grace said, "Mr. Montgomery, can we go home now?"
"There's more."
"What else?"
Xavier didn't say but directly took Grace to a nearby cake shop. It was obvious what he wanted to do.
Xavier bought a cake and then went home with Grace.
Grace didn't know what to say for a moment. Xavier acted indifferent, but he was secretly upset.
"Can you still eat cake now?" Grace asked.
Xavier said, "Depends on how it's eaten."
"What other ways are there to eat cake?"
Xavier's eyes were deep, and he smeared cream on his lips.
Xavier commanded, "Kiss me."
"What?" Grace was stunned.
Then Xavier pulled her in for a passionate kiss.
Later, Grace understood what Xavier meant by other ways. It wasn't about eating cake but about teasing her!
But Xavier had been careful lately. Before, he wouldn't listen when Grace said no. Now, he would stop when she said no.
When Grace woke up, she was in Xavier's arms. Xavier held her and said, "Sleep a bit more."
So when they got up, it was already morning.
Angela was working overtime at the company again. Ainsley had called her several times in the past two days, but she didn't answer.
Angela took some time to check on her clothing store. Edith was there again, pretending to shop with friends.
Edith picked out clothes, looked around, and then shook her head, "Although the quality of this store isn't great, it's run by our family, so I'm here to support it. Otherwise, I wouldn't come to a place like this."
Angela thought Edith was being ridiculous.
"If you don't like it, don't come in. I don't think you deserve my clothes. Get out!" Angela grabbed a broom and started chasing her out.
She couldn't stand Edith's attitude and didn't know what she was so proud of.
She ran her own fashion studio and clothing store, and she didn't think she was inferior to Edith.
"Angela, what do you mean? I'm here to support your business."
"I don't need your dirty money. You annoy me. Get out!"
